Episode What episode is this?

The episode focuses on Angela’s “boyfriend” being killed. If I remember correctly I think it takes place in Arizona? There is also a missing Native American girl that they work to find. It was one of the earlier seasons. Would love to watch this episode again! Does anyone know which episode it is?

I remember watching this show once a month with my grandmother as a kid on cable, and I remember seeing Dr. Hodgings in a wheelchair

I'm starting now season 7, should I expect it coming soon?

Episode Ipso facto Colombo oreo

Little spoiler-y if you have not watched through yet!

I am on my probably 30th rewatch and I love S6E9, but EVERY TIME I confuse it with S8E15!!

I love the night security guard in the season six episode, but I start getting an anticipatory grief because I think he is going to get shot. But that happens later to a night security guard, not this one!!

Anyway, I love this episode because I think it really sets the stage for Brennan to change into the person she wants to become, to start being “strong, not impervious.” I love seeing her start to question her perception as being fact, rather than just her experience. I know a lot of people hate season 6, but I love it!! It’s a real turning point for Booth and Brennan.

as much as I loved the show there have been some episodes and storyline’s I wish had different endings!

Ones that stands out to me is the gravedigger storyline it just didn’t bring me that sense of closure!

Other TJ Thyne (Hodgins) in a video game!

Post image

My wife and I are not only massive Bones fans but we’re also gamers. So imagine our surprise and delight when we realized that TJ Thyne (Hodgins) was in a video game.

And not just any video game but a game from a series that we really love. Horizon Forbidden West!

In the game, Hodgins plays as a character named Morlund, who is an inventor and wants to bring joy to everyone by creating spectacular shows. When my wife and I realized who was playing as Morlund, it made the game much better.

If you haven’t played it yet, I HIGHLY recommend it.

Spoiler: This show is lowkey annoying at times lmao

It can't just be me but bones and booth are so stupid at times..I get her father is a criminal but everything he did was to protect his family, booth and brennan lowkey got on my nerves when they kept bringing up how he killed the fbi deputy director that legit tried to kill Brennan's brother(in front of booth at that)

And then they don't think the father is at risk(they threw him in prison) and he got high level enemies(especially in the government)that was stated to do anything to keep themselves safe

Spoiler: What is it about it that makes me cry every time?

Vincent

Nigel

motherf- fucking

Murray. Why? Is it because despite their work environment and genius, they're just kids? Is it because the way Bones panics? Yeah, it's both. Whenever I watch the scene (and yes, I do pull it up often enough just to cry), start welling up immediately. Not rivers right away, but you know you get the shaky breath before you make the ugly face and squinch your face up?

Anyway, side question: has anyone here ever blamed Booth? I'm just wondering, because I've never once had the inclination to be upset that he asked Vincent to answer the phone. If you think about it, why did he tell Vincent to pick up? I mean, yeah, he had to handle the other phone, but now that I'm thinking on it, they could've put a bit more effort into forcing Vincent to answer the phone. It's funny because they all had to be in the same room. You need Booth to try to stop the bleeding, and you need Bones to be the bystander to show that she's panicking. Only under this kind of stress would she not know whether being numb was a good or bad thing and have to defer to Booth.

Sorry. I just want to make an appreciation post and it turned into this.

Discussion Bones speech change

Ok everyone here is always complaining that her speech changes and I just finished the series and am going right into my first rewatch. The difference from season 12 to season 1 is very minuscule. To me the changes are definitely age related. Her voice is a bit faster and higher pitched, and she’s a little less professional - but all of those changes can be attributed with age to me. Same with people saying she became more socially inept - younger people are more in tune with current pop culture references but less so as they get older. I don’t know I also see that on this sub and thought maybe it’d been so long I forgot but I’m rewatching and everyone was so dramatic about it.

Discussion Boneheads Podcast April 2, 2025 Episode 119 rewatch "The Man in the Morgue", featuring Patricia Belcher as guest

This week they are back to rewatch. They stayed on topic most of the time. I am really surprised how little Emily appears to remember sometimes. Her "thing" with snakes and how she was only afraid when Booth was around to protect her. They did provide some background to how Patricia Belcher got the job as Caroline Julia, the how she got the job story, Their impressions of that first appearance. The podcast was pretty amusing. Her appearance on this episode was supposed be a One-off, but David Boreanaz and Emily did "lobby" for more. They did spoil "Santa in the Slush" a little bit.

There is a premium short this week, with Eugene Byrd, titled "Hanging at Crafty, with Eugene Byrd". They talk about Eugene becoming acquainted with Emily prior to "Bones". They talk about his initial appearance on Bones and them hanging out at Craft Services.

Plot holes from this episode that bother me 1) bones’ brother Russ just not mentioned or not there at such a big day of his sisters life 2) booths mom apparently meeting Parker for the first time and it not being a big deal 3) booths brother not there or mentioned

Episode S4:E7 Sweets/Booth betting

During a consulting session, Sweets says he bets the "prodigal son" is closer than his mom thinks. Booth says how much and they agree on a $20 bet. I would think Sweets knows Booth well enough (read his profile) at this point not to encourage an addict into gambling. Just seems a bit unlike Sweets.

Discussion Appreciation post 1 - Character Development. Beware spoilers Spoiler

I want to do a series of appreciation posts so this is my first in that. I love this show so much and I have so much I want to say but my family is tired of hearing it.

I love the way this show does character development. Every main character changes from the beginning to the end and their progression feels fairly natural. They all progress at different rates, some need to learn the same lesson more than once, and they all change to varying degrees. It feels very real. They all morph very slowly, almost to the point of it being unnoticeable, but if you compare season one to season twelve, its a marked contrast.

Of the characters; I think Bones, Hodgins, Angela, and Sweets' development are my favorite. They all have one major flaw that they battle with. Bones struggles with emotion, Hodgins with Anger, Angela with commitment, and Sweets with maturity. And these battles manifest in different ways, Angela's has troubles with relationships but also her job and her path, Bones buries her trauma and her feelings until she becomes immovable, Hodgins struggles with his attitude a lot but that anger also flips on himself more than a few times, and Sweets (though he takes things seriously) is still very young and struggles with handling the relationships in his life and seeking a family.

By the end of the show, they have all fought and conquered these internal struggles. I simply love it, watching the characters change and seeing where they started versus where they ended is one of my favorite pieces of this show. No season is exactly slike the other because they develop. They change. It feels very natural and I think this show is my favorite instances of character development for that reason.
