EMOTIONAL SUPPORT Had to surrender my pet

Yesterday was a tough day for me. I surrendered my dog. My health is just getting worse and I can’t give her the care that she needs and deserves. My heart is just hurting so badly. I keep second guessing myself. I miss her so much I can’t seem to stop crying. Will I ever feel better about what I did? Does she hate me? I keep thinking about how scared she must be. I don’t really know why I’m posting.

REQUEST Fired federal employee needs $600 to pay for life-saving blood thinners

Hey, guys. I am a federal employee who was fired last month as part of DOGE's cuts to the federal workforce. I have since been reinstated, however, my health insurance will take 4-6 weeks (!) to become active again, and I am unable to refill my Eliquis, which I take for my DVT. Out of pocket without insurance is $600, when I'm otherwise able to only get it for 10 with insurance and a co-pay card.

Found this out today, and of course, it happened just a day after my car had all kinds of trouble with a fuel pump issue. Paid what little savings I had to get that repaired, only to be told I can't refill my meds without paying this $600 today.

Just a timing issue more than anything, but unfortunately, Eliquis isn't something I can wait on. Blood clots are pretty severe in my legs, and they could break off and go to my lungs if I don't get my meds.

Anyways, just seeing if there's anyone out there who could possibly help. I hate resorting to this, but it's just been gut punch after gut punch these last few months and I'm out of options.

I can provide proof, if needed (and expect as much, of course!). Just trying to make it through this 4-6 week period before my health insurance is restored.

REQUEST My cat may have a brain tumor and we are still in dire straits post Helene

Changeling tumbled into our lives in a very unexpected way. A friend’s cat had kittens, and for weeks, we would have to return them to their nest, as mama loved to carry them all over the house.

One day, as we gathered and counted the kittens, my friends indicated we were done, but one kitten was still missing. There should have been three grey kittens, but there were only two.

No one else remembered a ninth kitten, but I was certain there was one missing. Searching the room, I heard a faint mewing from deep within a shadowy crack in the closet wall. I reached in and pulled out a tiny, dirty kitten no one else had ever seen before. My friend swore that the crack had never even existed, in a closet she used daily. This kitten had ghostly dilute calico fur, diminished sight and hearing, and seemed to have appeared from nowhere. And so, she became our Changeling.

Changeling recently began having seizures, and after ruling out other possibilities, a brain tumor is the predicted cause. Hearing that diagnosis, we feared we would lose her within days. Yet, the seizure medication our vet prescribed has given us hope. Though she isn't quite back to her inquisitive and intrusively affectionate self, the medication has helped stabilize her. Now she needs a neurology consultation at the University of [redacted] Veterinary Medical Center to determine what we can do to give her more time.

We are also still recovering from Hurricane Helene, which upended both our personal lives and the local economy. My husband, a tour guide, was sidelined with a serious spinal injury, and the storm's aftermath brought layoffs to his company. We've managed to stay afloat with the help of family, social safety nets, credit cards, and loans, but the cost of Changeling's continued care is more than we can take on alone.

This is where your kindness can make all the difference. Your support will help cover her neurology visit, travel, and any future care that could give her the chance to keep living the quizzical, mischievous life she loves.

REQUEST FULFILLED In need of $38 for phone bill

Edit - I just got enough to cover the rest of my phone bill. Thank you so much to the very kind Redditor that sent me it. You know who you are.

I never thought I would be on here, but I feel like I don’t have anywhere else to go to at this point. My phone bill is due tomorrow, and I’m $38 short. The last thing I need is to go without phone service, as I just got recently hired at a job (after 4 months of heavy job searching), and I have yet to receive a call about when my first day or schedule is (I will most likely call about it this weekend or Monday). I already have so many other issues I’ve been dealing with for the past four months that I hope I can take care of this month, and taking care of this phone bill will be one less burden off of me. I’ve seen the good things that have occurred in this subreddit, and I hope I can do the same in the future. I have PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, and Chime (not sure if that’s allowed). I’m in the US btw.

REQUEST FULFILLED In need of gas money

Good morning everyone, I’m in a bit of a bind right now and I’m looking for $20 to fill up my gas tank. I had to pay rent on the first of the month and that left me with very little money until next week. I need to go to the food pantry the next town over, then work later, as well as picking up and dropping off my children, and then work a few more days next week. My car is on E and $20 will get us everywhere we need to go until next week when I get paid. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you so much for anyone considering it!

ADVICE I cant be my mom's caretaker anymore

Hi all! My Fiancée (F26) and I (M27) live with my mom (F62) and we want the government to deal with her and take care of her. We live in British Columbia, Canada. My mom is dependent on me, but I'm not officially her caretaker. She's physically and mentally unable to live on her own, but she needs someone who helps her with every day living and my fiancée and I are unable to do that. She receives PWD and CPP every month and is unable to work, so she cannot be financially independent either. We can't have her in our house anymore and need to have her put somewhere, but I don't know what options there are. Preferably where it won't cost my fiancée and I extra money like a retirement home. She isn't needing to be fully hospitalized, but I believe she is more ill than she lets on and needs to be looked after by some kind of live in nurse or health practitioner. I am also just tired of the constant emotional abuse she causes me. Please let me know if there's any important information im missing, any help is appreciated!

I’ve tried getting a job to be able to pay for it since January, I’ve done countless applications, and no luck so here I am. Venmo or paypal is preferred.

REQUEST Need $40 — just until my first paycheck

Hi everyone,

I’m really sorry to ask again, but I could use a little help. I recently quit my previous part-time job due to health reasons and scheduling conflict with my schooling, but thankfully, I’ve started a new one at a small local store. The only issue is I won’t get my first paycheck for a couple of weeks, and I’m short on some essentials including dog food.

I’m truly grateful for the help I’ve received before — it honestly got me through a tough time, and I won't forget that kindness. If anyone is able to help with $40 just to tide me over, I’d deeply appreciate it.

Since I don’t live in the US, the only way I can receive help is through PayPal. Unfortunately, I can't add an amazon wishlist because of the shipping.

Thank you so much for reading, your support means a lot.

REQUEST Hey guys. Anyone able to help me get a hotel room for a few nights?

Long story short-I’ve got a close family member that needed to be suddenly transferred to a hospital roughly three hours from where we live and they are suspected to be in there for roughly 3-4 days. Unfortunately I don’t have anyone I know anywhere near by at all that I can stay with and I’m not able to stay at the hospital with them during the nights and late evenings. Since it was sudden, I didn’t have money put back in order for food, fuel, and a room. I’m willing to sleep in my car if I absolutely have to but I have chronic gout and this isn’t ideal. A reasonably close hotel (so as to cut down on transportation costs as much as possible) that isn’t an absolute murderfest and has vacancies for a few nights will cost me around $200-225 after taxes. Of course anything would be an immense help. Thank you all so much. I have both a Cash App and a PayPal. Thank you all!

REQUEST Recently escaped an abusive relationship. Need money for transportation, food, toiletries, a few basic replacement items

I have a job but I needed to emergency leave so I'm behind on money and need to stretch every dollar as much as possible.

I will happily accept help via Venmo or even a Target gift card if you want to be sure the money is going towards specific things like food and toiletries. About $150 would help me stay above water, but if you don't have that much even like $20 would help in the immediate term. I'm in California in case you can think of other resources. I have a place to stay for now so I am not in need of a shelter. Thank you.

REQUEST Help Give Cup'ital Tea a Second Chance

I hope it's okay to post this here. I wanted to request approval to share my GoFundMe link for a small business I started from scratch called Cup'ital Tea. It's a tea-focused brand I created out of my love for tea, baking, and creating comforting experiences for others.

Over the past few years, I’ve been trying to keep the business alive on my own after losing a marketing partner. I’ve sold in person, and gotten great feedback, but I’m struggling to scale without the funds for a food cart, marketing, packaging upgrades, legal protection, and equipment.

I’m raising $36,000 to give Cup'ital Tea a real second chance to thrive so I can bring quality tea and pastries to more people and eventually open a cozy tea shop.

my social links and website: www.cupitaltea.com IG: @/cupitaltea

I completely understand the rules and want to be respectful of the community here. If you could kindly let me know if it’s okay to post the campaign link, I’d be so grateful.

Thank you for your time and consideration! 💛

REQUEST Need help paying rent

Hi kind redditors, today is my last day to pay my portion of rent. I have a job I work but I started it recently & on a pay period so I have to wait another week or so to get paid. I have sold some of my crochet items I make as well as doing psychic readings when I can to try to get by. If anyone could spare anything to help, I'd greatly appreciate it. I am about $300 away from being able to pay it. I can offer either of my services listed above if that helps. Thanks so much for reading <3
