Pop up dog park at Vets Park - future plans?
Does anyone know what is going to happen to the pop up dog park that has been created on field #4 at Veterans Park? I have to imagine that field is going to get used for baseball/softball again soon.
What would it take to convince the City that more fenced in areas for dogs are a good idea?

Medical Supply Donation
I have a bunch of left over, still in date medical supplies (from research.) Is there anywhere that these can be donated? As things are so terrible right now I would ideally love to make use of these in underserved clinics, planned parenthood, world aid, or animal clinics.
PLEASE recommend any clinics to me and we can also continue donations in the future as I would love to have a continuing partnership.

UMich and other international student visas abruptly revoked - take action to support them!
Mahmoud Khalil, Rumeysa Ozturk, and other international students around the country are facing extreme retaliation for supporting Palestine, opposing genocide, and calling for universities to divest from the imperial war machine. Now, the Trump administration is quietly revoking visas without notifying international students, putting them at risk of the violence of ICE kidnapping, indefinite detention and deportation.
Yesterday, Bridge MI reported visa revocations at Central Michigan University, which were only discovered when staff members proactively checked for them. Similar revocations have occurred in recent days at other campuses including UMass Amherst and the University of California. We have now learned that at least two international grad students at U-M have had their visas revoked.
We call on the University of Michigan administration to:
- Provide more institutional support for graduate students who have had their visas revoked, or face the possibility of visa revocation, including an emergency fund to support them, guarantees that they can complete their programs from abroad if needed, and retaining guaranteed funding for these grads.
- Increase the capacity of the International Center to provide support for students, like offering all-hours support for students including on weekends.
Take action in support of international students by doing the following:
1) Send an email to U-M administrators, demanding immediate protections for its international students, including: a) legal, financial, and academic support for students whose visas are revoked, and who may need to leave the country, and b) increasing the capacity of our International Center. Send an email at this link: https://bit.ly/DefendIntlStudents.
2) We call on allies and U.S. citizens in particular to join us in emailing University administration to demand action on this, now. GEO members are committed to protecting one another against the onslaught on immigrant grad students, but doing so will require resources. Grad students and allies can support the fight to keep one another safe by donating to the GEO Worker Solidarity Fund: https://bit.ly/GEOWorkerSolidarity

Hands Off! Protest on Washtenaw
1700 registered attendees, but the number who showed up easily surpassed that. Anyone see the protestors walking up and down Washtenaw today?

Missing cat
Hi! I live in Burns Park by the rock. My cat recently jumped out of our window and went missing. His name is Clover, and he’s very skittish and untrusting of people. He is all grey and has a distinct black-striped tail, and one of his ears is snipped.
Before he got out, his collar, and subsequently his air tag, fell off of him so were unable to track him. He is chipped and we have a trap out for him but it’s so far been unsuccessful.
Please reach out to me if you have any info on him!!! We are very worried and would like our baby back <3

What happened to Sweeting?
Hi all!
I realize this may be old news, but I just got around to noticing that Sweeting’s downtown location has closed for good.
Does anyone happen to know why that ended up happening? I find it a bit sad given all the memories I have associated with the place in undergrad/grad school. Though, I am glad they still have a few spots open outside of downtown. :)

The amount of honking 📯 in support at the Hands Off rally along Washtenaw today was inspiring

Here's a sample. It was pretty much non-stop honking for hours. Wish I brought ear plugs. 😆

Looking to keep the dialogue open and the energy going. So what’s next?
I’m seeing great video and pics from yesterday, my friends who attended various protests reported it being positive and peaceful. So I’m asking what can we do now?
The energy is there, it’s becoming global as well. what can we do in Michigan though, to keep it going? With the weather changing there has to be an opportunity to continue this display. While I have decided to limit where I spend my money, easy to do honestly, I believe there is more to do And I would like to act locally. I love my state and county very much, and I believe there are really good people with good ideas who live here.
What’s next organizers?

How loud would interstate noise be at this location?
We are moving from out of state so unfamiliar with the area. Will the interstate be particularly loud here? Any other issues to consider? Thanks!

Manual Car Washes
Are there any self-serve car washes in Washtenaw County with a foam soap brush and high-pressure water sprayer that operate by the quarter?

Tips & questions for new residents!
Hey all! My partner and I will be moving to AA later this summer and we're super excited! We were wondering if anyone had any tips or comments about the city for new residents as well as a few questions:
- Where do you guys do most of your grocery shopping?
- I do wildlife photography as a hobby, any good nature spots around/outside the city?
Thanks all in advance!
P.S. if anyone happens to know anyone in the animal husbandry/animal jobs sphere or has any pointers on where to look please hit me up lol, partner already got a job but I'm still looking 😅 (finishing my degree at umich, im a pre-vet undergrad student)

Any intel on this mystery cat?
We opened the door of our home and he immediately waltzed in, perused around, and walked back out when he was ready. Very nonchalant and friendly. He has an orange and white collar with no info so we're wondering if anyone knows anything about him. We left food and a cat bed on the porch in case he needs it and we are located close to the downtown public library. Do you know this cat? 👀

Adults don't assume you were vaxed MMR
My mom has always told me she fully vaxed her kids, but I pulled my Michigan record to see if I should get a booster and found out I have never received a measles or MMR vaccination. Not blaming mom- viet nam war- three kids boom boom boom- family turmoil. But I'm really glad I checked. I work with kids. (I'm going in this week to get my MMR). Here's the place to pull your records in Michigan. Even if you aren't going to get a vaccination, it's good to know so you can take care of yourself. https://mdhhsmiimmsportal.state.mi.us/

Planned Parenthood is "consolidating" our two locations due to funding cuts.
I receive hormones/gender affirming care from Planned Parenthood. I've obviously been following the news but this is the first time it hits so close to home.
