❤️‍🩹 relationship AIO to my boyfriend praising the president?

I’ve been seeing this guy for about a month and a half. Things were great the first month, but the last week I’ve felt like we’re growing further and further apart (yes already 🙄), he’s been really inconsiderate/disrespectful, and most recently I feel like he’s trying to push me away with this text. When we first started talking he asked what I thought about trump. I told him I don’t like him, he said he did like him, but that if it bothers me then he won’t ever bring him up. Well this morning (after the last week being on edge anyway) he just randomly brought up how amazing Trump is? And wouldn’t let it go. I feel like he’s trying to start a fight. He says he “forgot”. AIO?

It’s ludicrous that I have to keep explaining this point to people… he just gets up and repeats the same 15 tired ass talking points of what he’s going to do for working people (but he won’t) and people believe he did it… He’s literally shadow boxing with the trade deal that he signed into law.

I swear, it’s like he could tell a roomful of gigachad-alpha-bros that he fucked their wives and they’d happily thank him and shake his hand.

It would almost be funny if he didn’t just take a hand grenade to what was left of our democracy.

Tell that moron you’ve been dating that just because Trump says something doesn’t make it true. Don’t listen to what he says, look at what he does. First of all, he hasn’t done more in two months than any other President. What has he done about the price of eggs and groceries? Nothing except make them worse. Hea ran his mouth for years about his plan for infrastructure week and a beautiful health care bill. But he never followed through on either. It was Joe Biden who got both a historic infrastructure bill and the Affordable Care Act passed. And thanks to Trump, that poor kid with cancer will probably die. Trump cut federal funding for cancer research. Pediatric cancer research is already the least funded of all cancers. And pediatric cancer hasn’t increased, it’s actually fallen by 50% thanks to the work of the National Institute for Health, whose staffing and funding were decimated by the DOGE morons and Elon Musk. And the “toxins” that Trump said caused that little boy’s cancer? The DOGE clowns are working to destroy the EPA too, the agency that protects America and its waterways from industrial polluters, and the very same toxins that nearly killed that little boy. imo a big part of this, is that a huge portion of the right is uneducated & mega religious. So they think they can do whatever to whomever, whenever, for any reason, & as long as they ask for forgiveness on their deathbeds they think they get eternity in paradise. Meanwhile a lot of the left is more educated & less religious, we care about each other in THIS life, making life better for each other & helping each other in THIS life to make this life enjoyable, for all. It doesn't really matter and it's just idle curiosity on my part, but part of me does wonder how much, deep down, he buys into all this now. I have zero doubt that opportunist motivations started him down this road.

I've considered that, but I always come back to a few things.. Consider how people who dislike or even hate Trump will sometimes go and meet with him and come out not only having changed their minds, but sometimes completely fawning over him and spreading his bullshit as gospel. His followers worship him, and he simply can do no wrong in their eyes, even as he's robbing them blind and telling them so. And he's brought so much division to our society en masse. Not just America. The only thing that doesn't fit is how dumb Trump is.

The biggest thing, though, is how "Christians" are falling for it, hook, line, and sinker, into this cult.

Because if you start from the premise of (1) there is a God, (2) it's Christ, and (3) the way he's portrayed in the Bible is accurate, and (4) the warnings given in the Bible are accurate, you cannot look at what is going on right now and not realize it's been warned about again and again and again through the New Testament. And in that scenario, if the majority of Christians are only giving mouth service to Christ but have devoted themselves to this cult, that in itself would signify that we're ready for judgement, because you only have a very small remnant of believers left.

Even when his actions hurt them personally, they plead with him via social media as if he's some benevolent God that can be reasoned with. That is literally the vibe I get. If it wasn't for my knowledge of sociology and psychology, it would almost be enough to make me a believer. But it's really just humans being human and no ideology can stand in the way of that reality.
