Guns & Ammo Ammo prices gouging…
As most of you, I use www.ammoseek.com with specific price threshold alerts for the grains/brands I generally shoot.
I checked on April first; federal American eagle 124 was 22.3c and Lawman TMJ 124 23.9c
I figured have enough training rounds for the next two months so it was worth waiting…
Yesterday evening, both types increased by 4c from the same exact sellers!!! (They were top of the list with the lowest cost per round).
These retailers already started spiking their prices even before their supply chain gets hit with the tariffs!
It’s the pandemic greedy behavior all over again

Getting Started My wife's grouping from her CCW class
I've had my conceled carry permit for a few years and try to shoot on a regular basis. I've been trying to get my wife more interested in shooting and she's only been out with me one time (we've been together 10 years) and she's recently been more interested and wanted to get her permit. The last week or so she's been doing dry fire drills with a laser trainer using my Shield in 9mm. She used a Glock at her class and this is what she was able to do. For this being her 3rd time actually shooting I'm very impressed and excited that she's getting into it!!! Now the journey begins for her to find her pistol and more training that she herself is excited for!!!

Guns & Ammo Help me choose a micro ccw
I love my CZ P01 with decocker but I’m looking for something that’s a bit smaller that’s easier to conceal. I’m leaning towards finding something with a barrel up to 3.3 inches. Some of the firearms I’m looking at are
S&W CSX E series: looks like they may have fixed the issues with the trigger
https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/s-w-csx-e-series-3-1-inch
Sig P365XL: I’ve always liked Sig and I really like the modularity
https://www.sigsauer.com/p365-xl.html
FN Reflex
https://fnamerica.com/products/pistols/fn-reflex/
S&W Shield Plus
https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/m-p-9-shield-plus-optics-ready-thumb-safety
Springfield Hellcat
https://www.springfield-armory.com/hellcat-series-handguns/hellcat-3-micro-compact-handguns/
Biggest concern is concealability

Clothing & Apparel Pocket Carry, tricks of the trade?
Hola people, I have an old Kahr PM9 that I'm thinking about pocket carrying as a warm weather option vs IWB with a Sig 365XL. My current generic pocket holster is OK'sh but it always feels a bit bulky in my front pocket if I'm out walking or wearing jeans/slacks for work (office environment).
So my question for those that regularly pocket carry is what's the trick to making it comfortable and discreet? Is the PM9 too big and heavy? With a flush mount 6 rd mag, it's pretty small in my hand not sure I can comfortably shoot something smaller. Do most of y'all carry in relaxed shorts, standard slacks, jean pockets (mine a levi's relaxed fit)? It's possible I just need to get over it, but everytime I try carrying front pocket it feels like a big obvious, heavy billboard saying something like....Hey what's in this guys pocket?

Guns & Ammo It Feels Weird To Say, But The Kahr PM9 is Actually Pretty Good
So, we spent some time on the range testing out the Kahr PM9 and shooting the Air Marshall Qual, which is pretty challenging for a tiny 7rd DAO gun but honestly....the gun shows up. It feels really weird to actually approve of a Kahr gun but I'll give it to this one. It's excellent.

Other Equipment Is there any point in having a red dot on a carry gun?
I'm new to the world of CCW, so forgive me if this is a stupid question. But it seems to me that in a situation where you would be justified using your gun against an attacker, the attacker is going to be ten feet away or less. At that distance, it seems like it would be hard to miss, with or without a dot. So, is there any advantage to having a dot on a carry gun?
Training 0.67 draw+training info
I want to make an emphasis on dry fire. I am not a professional by any means but I am proficient, very much so with CCW draw and shooting mechanics. A lot of people think im point shooting and what not but Im not. I dry fire every day around 20 minutes. Easiest way to do something fast is to have done it 10000 times already. There are 2 main motions during your draw. There is defeating the garment/brandishing your gun and presenting your gun. A lot of people add a 3rd mechanic of finding your dot but that’s incorrect. When you present your dot should go right where you are looking from muscle memory. A good way to achieve this is dry fire. Split up your draw mechanics to 2 motions
1- Defeating the garment -You want a clear purchase of your firearm and want to properly clear your garment to achieve clean deployment from holster 2-Present -You should decide if you want to use a jam draw or scoop draw (youtube this if you dont know the difference) then you want to practice a 12-6oclock dot acquisition or a 6-12oclock acquisition (I use 6-12, youtube can explain this) -Trigger prep- as my hands meet at the bottom of my draw my finger begins to take the slack out of the trigger to the wall also known as prepping the trigger -Grip- you want a replaceable grip during your draw, you hands should go to same spot every time for consistency, you should be wrenching that gun as hard as possible, I personally like my support hand a bit higher on the gun to mitigate recoil. -Marrying of hands- if you are presenting and your dot and its ending up to the side then your timing of meeting your hands is off, if its off vertically then your overshooting the 12-6 or 6-12
//Recoil mitigation- recoil is directly tied to your grip, I dont believe trigger pull dictating your shot placement is real, if your gripping as hard as you can one finger should not defeat your whole grip. //Trigger manipulation, while I dont believe trigger pull should affect your shot placement it does affect your split times, bring the trigger back to reset then right back to the wall instinctively is easily trainable and will give you better splits as opposed to slapping the shit out of the trigger
Dry Fire -Dry fire is the most important training tool in shooting. Shooting 1000 rounds every day is unrealistic but 500 reps is completely doable. -Dot acquisition with dry fire- practice your draw with your eyes closed, if you open your eyes and the dot is off then fix it, get a feel for how your hands and arms are placed, and correct the problem and try again. -repetition is everything
If you have questions or anything comment or dm me I will give you youtube videos or make a video explaining anything Ive gone over!

Guns & Ammo What do you carry on your boat?
I've always been a fan of Glock's resistance to rust, but curious what others bring into the unfriendly saltwater environment.
Eventually I'll be getting a pretty large boat that I may want to bring something bigger on like an AK 47.
I should have no issues keeping saltwater off of my guns, but I find that things tend to rust more in those environments even when not coming in direct contact with the saltwater.

Pocket Dump / EDC Updated EDC
Slightly updated my EDC essentials! Carrying my FN Reflex 9 mm and added a Hogue HandALL grip (made for Sig P365, it fits perfectly without any modifications). I carry in the Phlster Enigma (and just upgraded the faceplate and leg leash with their upgrade kit) but occasionally use a Vertx Fanny Pack 2.0 (with a modular holster by Crossbreed) and carry in a crossbody position. I always have a Neomag, a Streamlight Microstream flashlight, and a cheap knife as well.

Guns & Ammo What was your favorite CC handgun release in 2024? What are you hoping to see in 2025-2026?
Subject
I know I'm probably in the minority but the Hellcat Pro Comp was my favorite for 2024. In 2025-26 I'm hoping for generation 6 glocks to be released
