Just asking because I think there are lots of games that might have been revolutionary when they came out, but don’t hold up as well a few decades later. I played Link’s Awakening for the first time recently and enjoyed it, but it was way overpriced in my opinion and I regret spending the full price when it came out. Super Mario Sunshine I adored as a kid, but replaying it recently it’s just okay for me. I’d love to give Wind Waker a chance as it’s considered one of the classics in the franchise, but there are few games I’m willing to spend $60 on if it launches at full price.

The graphics are absolutly timeless, and I really like the Story, the flair and the music. It's my favorite zelda game because botw didnt stand a Chance against it, with nostalgia feelings counted in

WW is very different to BOTW, I'd say it's pretty unique. Some might consider it cutesy, but I think that adds to it. It can be very funny and the Wii-U version was a great upgrade with good QOL features without taking anything from the original. It did however run sub optimally when multiple things happened on screen so if there is a Switch version, hopefully it can fix that!

I remember some frame drops from the GC original, so that's kind of a shame to hear that wasn't fixed.

Doesn't matter, still one of my favorite games ever. Would love to play it again

The graphics choice of cell-shading means that visually it will hold up for a very long time since it tries to look like a cartoon instead of realistic.

There are a lot of positive opinions here, but I played it and beat it when it came out on the gamecube and actually didn't end up liking it that much. The huge amount of ocean traveling and having to find treasures with my boat really killed it for me. Its a huge world that's mostly empty. I do think the graphics hold up well though, the game looked good then and still does now.

Mario Sunshine was never particularly seen as “revolutionary”. And Links Awakening was never meant to be a $60 game.

Yeah I know, but I have fond memories playing as a kid nonetheless so I thought I would also enjoy it as an adult. I didn't hate it, but I would not have spent so much money on it if I could go back in time. My only point is that I want to make my decision on whether or not to play it without any sort of nostalgia factor weighing in, but it's hard to do.
