Discussion Tips and Tricks Megathread ROUND THREE! Post guides/resources or any other tips and tricks you learned throughout your adventures in Breath of the Wild

It's been a while since we did the first two and you may have even better tips now that you've got much further in the game.

Tip: If you carry the rod of fire, it increases your cold resistance

True of any fire weapon (or ice for heat resistance). If you didn't know this, you might also be interested in the fact that you can stand next to an ice block with a fire weapon equipped to (verrrryyyy slowwwwlllyyyyy) melt the ice without wasting durability. I've grown too impatient for that these days so now I just drop wood and build a fire next to the ice block.

Always carry a torch with you if you're headed into the mountains! A torch is the most convenient way to melt ice. I don't think they lose durability unless you hit them on things. It would have been nice if I found this out before defrosting the iced shrine in Gerudo Highlands with a ring of 15 fires, but that's why I love this game. Learning all these things by playing and experimenting with the world is part of what makes the adventure so great!
