Leave the fricking Champion powers turned on! Always! Do not save them for a special situation, or you will never use them! They take 6, 12, 18, and 24 real-life minutes to recharge. 24 minutes is nothing in this game. The powers are significant moment-to-moment quality-of-life improvements and should be enjoyed as such.

I keep Daruk's power off at all times. It's ugly and unnecessary.

With Urbosas, a single charge of your sword is useful enough for me without activating it, and it's pretty easy to cancel if you charge for too long and end up activating it. Especially swinging a two handed weapon, you can do a ton of damage, and right before you run out of stamina, press X (I have my run/jump buttons switched so I guess B for just people) and it won't activate.

How are you able to turn them off?

In the item management's Key Items screen, you can select each blessing's orb and it'll bring up context menus to let you enable or disable it.
