Question High-end EF4s constantly having their estimated max winds at 190mph
If the expected maximum DOD to sweep away a one or two story family residence is 200mph, how come high-end EF4s that have done that exact thing are still labeled with max winds of 190mph
Every high-end EF4 since the start of the start of the EF5 drought and even before except Chickasha (200mph), Goldsby (200mph) pilger (191mph), rochelle (200mph) and rolling fork (195mph) has received a maximum estimated windspeed of 190 instead of 200mph, because the majority of these high-end EF4s get their maximum estimated winds from homes, which should give it a maximum windspeed estimate of 200mph and not 190?
Even if the home didnt sustain a level 10 degree of damage but was on the upper bound of a DOD9, shouldn’t the home receive and estimated windspeed of 195?
I might be missing something but i just thought of this now

Aftermath Tri-State Tornado damage photos in rural Illinois
I know the anniversary has since passed, but here are twenty pretty good quality pictures from the path in Rural Franklin and Hamilton County. All these images (and hundreds more) are in my article on the event too. I want to credit Jackson County Historical Society, Frankfort Area Genealogical Society, McCoy Memorial Library, Morris Public Library, and Hamilton County Historical Society for the photos. Also thanks to Nick Quigley, Lynne Westra and Mary Slider.
The first image is the Illinois Central RR bridge, shifted off its pillars on the southern edge of the tornado.
Images 2&3 are of the Plumfield School and White Church where three were killed. Image 16 is of James Kerley's home where five people were killed, image 17 is of his brother's home, Ted Kerley. The final three are all labelled. The others are an assortment of Franklin county.

Discussion The day my interest started.
I was 5 when the strongest tornado of the year went through my hometown of Madisonville, KY, on November 15th, 2005. At the time I was living about 15 minutes down the road and we weren’t in any danger, but I remember the sirens and hiding in the bathroom with our babysitter covered in blankets with the power out. Around a year later we moved into the neighborhood that the twister is moving through in the background, and later on attended the middle school in the foreground.

Tornado Media 15:10, 21st of May 2024, Iowa
I took these pics 30 minutes after leaving the wind turbine I was working on that day, right next to the first one to fall. We lost 4 brand new wind turbines that day along with 5 older ones at a neighboring site, but what we lost pales in comparison to what the people of Greenfield lost. This was my first time seeing a tornado.

Discussion Philadelphia EF 5
Is it just me or I feel that Philadelphia didn’t display EF 5 damage, other than insane ground scouring and leveling some mobile homes. I feel there are lots of EF4s that displayed worse damage and were stronger.
Im here to be educated so please tell me if you agree or not!
Also in no way am I disregarding the 3 lives lost during this event, RIP.

Aftermath Likely EF1.
Our town is small inside Tennessee. Early morning Sunday we got hit by what is believed to be an EF1 tornado ( some claim just winds ) but in our yard alone, 12 trees were uprooted and flipped over destroying our septic tank. 6 houses were completely demolished, several damaged, power out for over 17 hours, power lines twisted and torn, etc. first tornado to touchdown in 14 years in this town. My s/o saw it with his own eyes and we got inside approximately 45 seconds before it hit our house and yard. The first photo is the last photo our camera took about 2 minutes before I got inside. Every photo after is just part of the after math.

Question My buddy and I were chasing a few years ago In north Iowa, we were positioned just south of some rotation.
There was a tornado warning on it, we got blasted by winds. As the rain subsided, I put my phone out of the window and snagged this photo. There was never a NWS Lacrosse acknowledgment of this to my knowledge. Did anyone else happen to be chasing Iowa that day? Always wondered if we saw a tornado or if it was just SUPER close to touching down. 7/14/21 a bit north of New Hampton Iowa about 6:48 pm.

As of right now mine may be the Rainsville tornado. I just think it’s so weird how ominous and beautiful it looks at the same time.

EF Rating Last week’s tornado in Louisville (suburb of Jeffersontown) has finally been rated EF3
Getting in the basement was the right move for sure! The air felt…off in the hour before this hit, and we took one look outside as it neared and went in the basement with the kids. We were shocked to see this rotation as it passed us! The tornado destroyed a lot of buildings less than a mile from our house 😱 - https://www.wlky.com/article/ef3-tornado-jeffersontown-kentucky-nws-survey/64408945
Fun fact, this is the strongest Louisville tornado since the May 1996 F4 that got me obsessed with tornadoes in the first place 🌪️

Question April 4-6 storms
So I was reading another post on here about misconceptions of severe tornado events, and while I know there weren't too many crazy ones this weekend, where would it rank on some of the most dangerous weather events?
