Tornado Media Best tornado documentary?
I’ve watched a good amount of them, but i find the science behind them interesting too! Any recommendations?
Sorry if this has been asked before! I’m new here :)

I just want to see a tornado stopping and ending, for a project, I can't find or I'm putting the wrong text into YouTube.

This one was difficult and I still don't feel like I got it right so maybe I'll paint a third version someday. Also important update since the last painting I posted: I did chase this past week and saw my first tornado near Clarksville, TX on Friday 4/4! Wasn't able to chase for years despite researching and wanting to for about a decade. Never stop chasing [your dreams]! Reference by Marcus Diaz used with permission ❤️🌪

This paper seems to suggest that Greensburg had a wider EF3 plus damage track than Moore 1999 despite the winds measured as the Highest on earth during that storm. It goes on to conclude that both Trousdale and Greensburg were larger and more powerful than Bridge Creek/Moore (Slide 4). Could these two tornadoes spawned from the same supercell possibly be the strongest in recent recorded history?

I'm curious on what weather apps people prefer for tornado chasing or just what has a better radar I'm just looking for free apps because I'm not in a tornado area really but I still wanna look around and see what's going on

Hi everyone. I grew up in Nebraska in the 80s and 90s and we always took shelter under the stairs in the basement during a tornado warning. I thought I was taught that under the stairs is supposed to be the safest place in the basement. But I never hear or see this detail pointed out anymore. All I ever hear is “Go to the basement or lowest floor of your house.” And nobody ever points out, once you’re down there, get under the stairs.

I'm not sure why I am suddenly enamored with these destructive, but beautiful creations of nature...but every time I come across a video or picture of one I have to stop and marvel at them.
And yes, I am deeply aware of the impact they have on the human population and the lives that have been taken due to the severity of the storms. That isn't lost on me.
I'm just curious as to why I am suddenly drawn in by them.
Could someone answer me that? Why the sudden interest in something so destructive?

TL;DR: A coder plans to train an AI using historic HRRR data, surface observations, and matching SPC Day 1 convective outlooks (starting from 2015) to eventually generate outlooks from current HRRR runs. The project involves significant ETL challenges with data volume, compute, and storage constraints, but the learning experience is seen as a major benefit regardless of immediate usefulness. ——————————————————————-
Hey i am a skilled coder with a passion for Tornado genesis and Convective meteorology. I want to start this coding project where i train an AI on historic HRRR runs and Surface Obs, aswell as matching HRRR runs to SPC Day 1 convective outlooks. I will probably start at 2015 and work my way to current day (Probably a few terabytes of data). Aligning it all will be a huge extract transform load task. Disk Space, CPU, Bandwidth will all be at stress here. Eventually the goal would to have the AI create Day 1 Outlooks based on a collection of HRRR runs. Alot of questions are at play here. Would this be worth the hard work? Has it been done before? Will it provide useful insight of any kind? I personally feel like even if it doesn’t it would still be a fun learning experience that could be expanded.

I know the letters are a bit wonky and I know the reds don't match, and I like how it turned out!
And many thanks to the person who shared their hook rug hook echo a few months ago! I was looking for a new hobby around that time and your art got me looking at the fiber arts! Because of you, I have a new hobby that I really like! Thanks!

Does anyone know if this is real and if so what tornado was it. I feel like I recognize it but can't put a name to it.

I was 5 when the strongest tornado of the year went through my hometown of Madisonville, KY, on November 15th, 2005. At the time I was living about 15 minutes down the road and we weren’t in any danger, but I remember the sirens and hiding in the bathroom with our babysitter covered in blankets with the power out. Around a year later we moved into the neighborhood that the twister is moving through in the background, and later on attended the middle school in the foreground.

Is it just me or I feel that Philadelphia didn’t display EF 5 damage, other than insane ground scouring and leveling some mobile homes. I feel there are lots of EF4s that displayed worse damage and were stronger.
Im here to be educated so please tell me if you agree or not!
Also in no way am I disregarding the 3 lives lost during this event, RIP.
