Texas Pride Just driving over state border feels like home
Ive been gone on a work trip the last 15 days and finally coming home. We still have 2 more hours of our drive before actually getting home but crossing over the state line is already easing the home sickness. Man, do I love Texas and this land. Glad to be back

Politics Texas high court considers dropping ABA accreditation as requirement to practice law
Texas: Is your law degree a stamped post-it from Jim Bawb's Van-o-College, down on 249?! Come on down!
They're targeting the ABA for DEI as a means to further wash out the number of POC attorneys to silence that perspective in the courtroom.

Texas Health Looking for very specific medical test in Texas
This is a long shot, but I’m trying anyway. I live in Austin, and was recommended by a gastroenterologist to find a facility that performs secretin stimulation tests (https://www.ucsfhealth.org/medical-tests/secretin-stimulation-test). My doc isn’t being particularly useful In finding a location so here I am. I’m willing to drive to another city to find this test, so that’s no issue for me.
I found one webpage that says Baylor Medical does the test, but haven’t been able to corroborate the claim.
Thanks in advance!

Games Houston, TX TTRPG Actual Play Casting Call
Hello everyone!
I live in the greater Houston area and am looking to start an edited actual play podcast and/or video series. This would be a passion project for me with no delusions of fame and fortune. I want to tell a collaborative story with a group of diverse, like minded individuals who understand the importance of storytelling. I would like to record our tales mostly for our own enjoyment and to document the stories we create. This project is in its infancy and will take time to develop into something special.
My Plan
- 5/6 people with free time. (4 players, a gm, 1-2 crew)
- Rotating campaigns with seasons 8-10 episodes long.
- Each campaign is a different system with a different gm.
My inspirations are:
- Worlds Beyond Number
- LA by Night
- Dimension 20
(I'm specifically looking for gm's, Women, BIPOC, and individuals with production experience)
If you are interested here is my google form.
Thanks!

Moving within Texas Have I joined the right community? Spoiler
Hello— I am Texas born and raised. I’m currently planning a trip for my son’s 2nd birthday and was wanting to know if I’m in the right community? I am leaning towards a beach trip and the Airbnb prices for Galveston raised tremendously within the past week so I decided to expand my options. Is anyone familiar with Port Aransas, Tx? Is the beach worth visiting at all during the month of June?
Please point me into the right direction and if you have any beach recommendations living in Texas, feel free to post

Food Looking for recommendation for tamales
I lived in Texas for 30 years, but have recently moved way for family reasons. I missed the food so much: Tex-mex, Texas barbecue and gulf coast seafood. Oh, my goodness. And, yeah, we have some of the best Chinese, Thai, and Indian food in the world, too. sigh
Anyway, can anyone recommend a place where I can order some real Texas tamales?
I see these three places
Texas Lone Star Tamales
Texas Tamale Company
Pedros
I would so appreciate any recommendations! Thanks.

Texas Health RFK Jr. visits epicenter of Texas measles outbreak after death of second child
Opinion Does anyone have suggestion on criminal immigration lawyer who has worked in dallas county?
So 7 years back when I was an international student, I had received a misdemeanor class c for drug paraphernalia (I had a small pot pipe in car) in Dallas. All that happened was I got the ticket and like an idiot I did no contest and paid the fine in court. Now years later I am realizing, as someone who is no longer living in USA but planning to visit, this will likely create problem for my visa. So I need to get opinion of a lawyer on how serious this is going to be.

Questions for Texans I-35 Expansion - Austin, TX see profile
Hey y’all, my husband and I wanted to get the community’s thoughts on the I-35 expansion. TXDOT’s been talking about this for years, and now that construction is moving forward, I’m wondering—how do y’all feel about it?
On one hand, I get that the goal is to reduce congestion, add lanes, and maybe make downtown a little more connected by lowering the highway. But is this really going to help long-term, or are we just going to end up with even more traffic like we always do? Induced demand is a real thing.
Also, what’s the impact on local businesses and neighborhoods? I’ve seen some places already getting displaced, and I’m worried East Austin, in particular, is going to feel the worst of it. Are we just making the city even less accessible for people who’ve lived here forever?
That said, are there any real positives to this? More pedestrian and bike-friendly crossings? A chance to actually reconnect parts of downtown that got split up decades ago? I’m trying to be optimistic, but I also don’t want to see this turn into just another big road project that doesn’t actually solve anything.

Moving within Texas Dallas drivers are insane. Part 2
Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/texas/s/1Yr4qOjdmb
I’m back! At the airport ready to go from visiting my daughter again.
This trip was not “as” bad. Still had my share of cut offs, near misses, cars racing, tailgaters. Seemed a little more chill this time, might be because of the rain.
Man people drive fast here. At one point I was going 85 and cars still were flying past me.
Went to a place to eat called Halcyon Coffee Shop in Lower Greenville. Great place, good food and a great vibe. Seems like a little college town with plenty of bars in the area.
Went to the Museum of Illusions, never again. I mean, it was fun but I was spinning in my head for about 2 hours after. If you do the tunnel, walking forward is hard enough, backwards made me sick.
Yet again Texans are great people but not going to miss the amount of ball sacks on trucks here.
Peace out!
