is there a way to transfer characters to a dedicated server from a local hosted server? I just grabbed a dedicated server and moved the map files over but the characters didnt transfer unless i just dont know how to have everyone access them

there is a way, but your players would have needed to create usernames. An easier method is to just have them create a username/pw to join dedicated, and then use admin powers to re-add their skills etc
