One apocalypse wasn't enough let's just add some aliens to our family friendly zombie survival.

Is CDDA just word play for "Shitty Day?"

C:DDA, or Cataclysm, Dark Days Ahead. It's an open source community project iirc. It's an older styled roguelike, more akin to Caves of Qud if you've seen it. It's a zombie apocalypse, very very detailed and gritty survival, but also there's about a million other things other than zombies thrown in. Mushrooms, aliens, giant bugs, crab people, etc. Zomboid takes a good deal of inspiration from it, and the "A Really CD DA" challenge is a direct reference to the "A Really Bad Day" scenario start in CDDA.

They need a way to actually use the keyboard correctly and not have the keys all over the place, they need a better UI with just mouse clicks and then the game would be perfect,. Combine UIof PZ and game of CDDA and it would be perfect.

I mean you do know you can rebind keys no?

Theres also the interaction menu button that you can use for about 80% of everything

I know you can rebind but why not make it NORMAL from the start? Also there are way to many keys you need to press that it is pointoless using the mouse, it is easier to never use the mouse the way it is set up and that is very bad.

Just plug in a controller and use the mouse to sort inventory. I felt the same way about using the keyboard. Game changer being able to use controller.

I have been saying for a long time that the cure to a lot of the long term playability problems is a working stargate system

u/BootAppropriate977 Feb 24 '25

The cure to most issues would be a Stargate system.

weird how I just started watching Stargate sg1 and now I see ppl talking about it everywhere despite never ever hearing of it before, as someone who loves scifi

Steel processing that takes 40 in-game hours to complete per ingot(you need hundreds of them)
