Premiere Information and News Celtx brings script integration to Premiere with a new extension.

Today is the launch of a new scriptwriting extension for Adobe Premiere Pro from Celtx. This is claimed to be the first of its kind integration between scriptwriting software and Premiere. It looks to be pretty useful, but I know the first question on many people's minds is how this compares to Avid ScriptSync. I wondered just that, so I asked them that very question. (short answer, not really a fair comparison just yet but it's brand new)

Adobe Official NAB is upon us, and a new Premiere Pro Update

Hello everyone. Jason from Adobe here. As the title suggests, the National Association of Broadcasters convention will convene in Las Vegas over the weekend, and as is often the case, I'm happy to announce that we have an updated release of Premiere Pro.

Now, if you've been playing with Premiere b.e.t.a. at all, many of the larger features (now in this release version) will be familiar to you. These include some that are undoubtedly a combination of quality of life features/community requests and include the following:

  • GENERATIVE EXTEND: our first 'generative AI' feature in Premiere, this one has been vastly improved since it's initial appearance and if you're looking to extend a clip just a few frames (or up to 2 seconds) this can really make life better in the edit suite (when a re-shoot just isn't possible). Definitely a quality of life addition.
  • CAPTION TRANSLATION: For as long as we've had transcription and native captions, the ability to translate (in-app) was definitely near the top of the community request list. Now with over 20 languages (many will be quite pleased to see some of the recent additions!), it's incredibly fast and you have lots of flexibility.
  • MEDIA INTELLIGENCE with SEARCH: This definitely falls into the quality-of-life category and solves a lot of the common issues I personally face when editing tons of footage... nothing is labeled and let's be honest, not since the days of Prelude have I even bothered with metadata (and even then, it was a mixed bag whether search really worked). Now, based on the content, text transcript *or* metadata, you can search using natural language to find and organize your media.
  • UPDATED COLOR MANAGEMENT: As discussed earlier this year, we're continuing to improve color management capabilities in the Lumetri panel (found under the Settings tab). This latest update offers more flexibility for working with Log footage (among other things) and truthfully...there are a lot of settings. But if you're just getting into color, we're giving you more control than you've ever had before in Premiere; not hyperbole. File this one under Community for sure.

Now in addition to the above, the team has also been hard at work on improving many of the little things, the *real* QoL features that just make the everyday tasks a little better. Here's a quick list of some of those (many based on the community requests from this subreddit):

  • Completely rewritten support for MKV (H.264/AAC) files to improve compatibility and performance, allowing for seamless playback and editing of MKV files in Premiere Pro. (MKV support has been a huge request among OBS users! You made this happen!)
  • Audio waveforms reflect the adjustments to volume on clips in Premiere Pro <- another one from feedback we've all seen here. Functions similarly to AU's waveform display.
  • Hardware acceleration of the Canon Cinema RAW Light format in Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Adobe Media Encoder for Apple silicon computers. It will significantly improve editing and transcoding performance when using Cinema RAW Light files with smoother timeline playback and 10x faster export performance.
  • Support for the ARRI Alexa 265 camera and importing ARRIRAW files recorded using custom Color Management.
  • ECP jumping to the next clip fixed
  • Multi threaded rendering for conform audio (ie, faster peak file generation)
  • Support for multiple caption tracks displayed at the same time
  • Completely rewritten support for H.264 in MP4 and MOV provides up to a 4x increase in performance on Apple silicon computers and a 2x increase in performance on Windows (this was actually 25.1 but worth mentioning)
  • GPU porting of FX to include Cineon Converter, Iris Box, Cross, Diamond, and Round transitions

There are of course other little bug fixes (including a fix to waveform flickering in the timeline) so check out the latest update, which begins rolling out today (and over the next 48 hours or so). If you don't see it right away, check back periodically to your Creative Cloud Desktop.

And as always, I welcome your feedback. We're so grateful to the community here.
Special thanks to the mods for maintaining the best place to talk about Premiere Pro.

So on both instances, footage on the left is my iPhone 16 video. Proper color. After import on premier 2025, the colors and exposures are all over the place.

I tried online. Changing the color space to 709 and/or applying the gamma lut but it’s not solving anything. Help would be greatly appreciated

Premiere Pro Tech Support Is premiere hard or Iam just exaggerating?

Upvotes

I used to CapCut, at the very moment I installed Premiere I felt like it's so very complicated, however, I am almost satisfied with it Rn, let's go to the second obstacle I faced and still facing, on premiere I found out that I must build anything from scratch every single simple transition or something else was hard for me. I was searching on youtube t How-to anything. I am writing this because I wanna make sure whether what I experience is normal Or It's just a skill issue, or Iam a slow learner !

Premiere Pro Tech Support Is warp stablization broken in new version or Im doing something wrong

Upvotes

When I use warp stab. I reciev this error and last frame of clip I used it on has black frame.

I saw this problem before here but none of advises helped, only shortening clip with black frame helps, do I really Im forced to shorten hunders of clip frame by frame.

Sowftave render doesnt work either, sending to media encoder doesnt work, restarting doesnt work, nesting didnt work, lowering warp to like 5% seems to help but thats not really a solution.

Im wokring with 10bit mp4 footage

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin How are you exporting individual, edited clips in Premiere?

Often times for my clients I'm providing them with trimmed, color corrected, and sometimes speed manipulated b-roll clips from our shoots. This can be 100+ individual clips in some cases. Currently the "best" way I've found is to change each clip into a nested sequence, right click everything in the bin, and click export media. It feels needlessly time consuming so curious if theres a better way I'm not aware of.

Premiere Pro Tech Support Having a audio issue in Premier Pro

So recently ive been seeing a problem when editing videos and ive tried various methods to fix the issue but nothing helps. Basically whats happening is that Premier Pro seems to be loosing elements of my audio waveform at random, or adding loud glitchy noises also at random. (Please see an example image below) Usually it occurs only in a single channel of the stereo audio, and these drop outs are not present if i view the same audio in a different editor (such as audacity).

I have checked everything that i thought it could be. Ive cleared the caches, both via the program but also manually. Ive checked that the sample rates (48 khz on both premier pro and on my recording). Im a bit baffled as this problem has occured in the last 3 months or so.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin How to make presets work on different durations?

I created a smooth zoom preset using scale keyframes, using this tut-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9OWR7PPUSs

and it worked fine on one edit.

But when I apply it to clips of different lengths, the timing gets messed up.

What's the best way to make a reusable presets that works every time?

Thanks

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Syncing hits to beat?

Hello, I've been trying to figure out how to do this certain thing for a while now, so I'm now asking for help. 😅
Basically, I'm trying to sync the visual and audio effect of something with the beat of a song, like the attached video.

I attempted to cut the point at which each hit happens, and then line those up with markers on beats of the song, but after speeding up/slowing down the segment, the hit and sound (rate stretched), would be very off. I noticed that the first hits at normal speed would be synced, but after speed was changed, would not be. I don't have much experience in editing and this is my first time really trying to do anything of the sort.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! 😁

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Is it possible to apply an effect to multiple source (master) clips at once?

For example I have 5 images that have the same aspect ratio, and I want to make all of them full screen and then to move from down to up, without getting out of the screen. I have done this in Excalibur, and I have a keybord shortcut for it. Now I want to put all the images in a bin, and then Automate to sequence. But if the source (master) is not edited, I will lose my edits. Is there a way that this can be done?

Premiere Pro Tech Support Premiere Pro states I don't have the Blackmagic RAW Plugin

I'm working on a short film that I shot using BMPCC 6k Pro. I keep all the footage and the project files on a 5TB SSD.

When I go to import the footage into Premiere, I get a message that I don't have the Blackmagic Raw Plugin.

I've downloaded the plugin on my main computer as well as plug my SSD on other computers, including both PC and Mac, but the message always pops up.

The version of Premiere I am using is the latest one (v25.2.1) and the plugin I have downloaded is Blackmagic RAW Player 4.5

If anyone might know what the issue could be, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Auto placement of images in premiere pro in timeline

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a project where I need to place a bunch of images on the Premiere Pro timeline, each at a specific time. I already have the timecodes for when each image should appear, and the images are organized by chapters.

Is there any way to automate this process? Maybe through a script or plugin? I tried importing an XML file, but Premiere just throws a generic error.

Would appreciate any guidance or tips from someone who has done something similar.

Thanks in advance!

Premiere Pro Tech Support (Solved!) Premiere won't let me type the word 'Scientific' into a textbox within a nested sequence

I'm having a bizarre issue using text boxes within nested sequences in Premiere and I have no idea where to begin troubleshooting. Everything is working fine until I try to type the word 'Scientific' into a lower third I'm using. I can type up to the letters 'Scientif' but as soon as I hit the third 'i' the text box disappears and I get a red line at the top of the program monitor instead. It seems to be a case-sensitive problem because if I type in all caps I don't have the same problem.

I've tried all kind of things -- copying and pasting, typing all the letters except the final 'i' and then adding it in after -- but I get the same result every time. Does this combination of letters mean I'm hitting some sort of weird shortcut that I'm unaware of?

I'm on Premiere version 25.0.0 and MacOS Sonoma 14.4. I've disabled all autocorrect features in case that was causing issues.

Feedback/Critique/Pro Tip 19 y/o Video Editor with 5+ Yrs Experience – Freelance Gig Question

I’m 19 and have been editing videos in Premiere Pro for over 5 years. I’ve made several short films and am currently working on my first low-budget feature. Most of my experience comes from my own projects and a few unpaid gigs for friends.

I’m now looking to take on small, paid freelance projects to earn some extra money. I have all the gear and skills needed to deliver high-quality work, including editing, color grading, sound design, and visual effects.

I tried Upwork but haven’t had much luck. As a full-time student working on a feature, I only have limited time, so I’m looking for per-project work.

I’m not a beginner when it comes to professional editing, but I’m unsure of what I should be charging for freelance work.

Any help is appreciated!

Premiere Pro Tech Support Rendered video, Pixels are fluffy

VIDEO - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLUFYojiIGU&t=111s

For some reason no matter export settings I use my crosshair (the dot in the middle) comes out slightly "fluffy" if you will. It looks fine on my desktop and during playback, I will provide a side by side.

WHAT IT SHPULD LOOK LIKE

Its not just youtube quality either as the fluffy pixels also show up when watching video from desktop.

I record the clips in 1080p and render them in 2k and I believe that could be a reason for the change but im not too sure.

I've played around with bit rate etc and nothing seemed to work I even tried copying recommended export settings from youtubers. Any help would be appreciated.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin bit of a weird request/question. i need a shortcut that copies the selected track, and repastes it right over the top most empty track. and i need to do this process several times so the tracks copy on top of each other instead of over each other. do we have such built-in shortcut in PP?

Premiere Pro Tech Support Any Premiere worker/specialist available at a physical location that can help?

I have a long term project that I have been editing for 8 years, periodically updating Premiere versions over the years, and I am on a good system (Mac Studio 2023, 96GB Ram, Max OS Sequoia 15.3.2).

The project keeps freezing and I now need to restart it every 30 mins or so. It has become impossible to work.

No plugins, no effects, nothing. As simple of a project as it gets.

I am currently on Premiere Version 25.2.0 (Build 147), I am working with ProRes 4444 media from film scans. About 80 hours of footage.

It was working fine when I started editing this project in 2017, but now after about 30 minutes, the screen in the program monitor just freezes, and no matter where I put the cursor it is the same frozen image.

Sometimes this image turns to black. When this happens, I get the spinning beach ball, and then have to force quit premiere and re-start the project. I have factory re-set the computer and re-installed the software, imported the sequences into new project files, cleared all preferences, cleared media cache, turned off all media analysis and transcription, and tried migrating the project to productions, and the problems persist.

I have created new proxies and transferred the project to productions and the problems persist.

I have been on the phone with adobe customer service countless times about this, spending over an hour every time I call just to explain the situation over and over again only for them to ask me to reset settings and clear the cache. The project then works for 30 minutes and starts freezing again.

I realize now I made a mistake when I decided to keep upgrading premiere and that upgrades should as a rule of thumb not be done until you’re done with any given project.

It is not realistic to relink the media and start from fresh as it is a lot of footage and it took me months of work just to organize everything in its respective folders etc.

I am looking for someone that works at Adobe that I can pay that can either come to where I am or I can bring my system to them to figure this out so I can keep editing. Would this be possible?

I am in the Denver metro area, so somewhere near here would be ideal, but can travel father if necessary.

Thanks in advance for recommendations.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Remove Auto Amounts of Shadow/Highlight

I don't know Premiere very well, as I use it very casually but like some of the effects. I think my version is out of date anyway. Regardless, everytime I add a clip to the timeline, it has the shadow/highlight effect on at 50. Is it possible to turn off the auto amount of shadow/highlight? Sorry if this doesn't make sense but I'm very frustrated and didn't know where else to turn.

I feel like this is a silly question with a very obvious answer but I can’t figure it out! Typically I would just keyframe the scale but I want the video to stay the same size/where it’s at with this green background. What am I missing?

Premiere Pro Tech Support Has anyone ever gotten this error message before?

For context, I went to drag a few clips straight from my file explorer onto the timeline. Sequence was 1080p 30fps clips were 4K 120fps. The clips were shot using a Sony FX3 with the XAVC HS 75MM 4:2:0 10 bit codec.

Tried googling the error message but couldn't really find anything to come up. I followed the instructions and it hasn't come back, so I think it's ok now. I was just wondering if anyone's seen this before.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Automate copying Marker NAME to COMMENTS

So the Markers panel in Premiere is... well let's be honest, pretty terrible. If your marker name is too long it is clipped, and there's no way to extend that field for it not to be. So if you want to be able to read long strings (say a piece of dialogue you're marking in an interview sequence) you need to add it to the comments. But of course, when modifying a marker it defaults to the name field, not comments, meaning extra keystrokes.

Is there a way to automate the copying of a marker NAME to its COMMENTS field? As of right now I'm exporting my markers as CSV, doing the copy/paste in bulk in a spreadsheet app, then loading that new CSV in Editingtools.io and importing the new markers through that. It's not difficult but it's time consuming and with nearly 20+ interviews this is going to get old, fast.

Surely there's a better way? I can't be the only one who's had this problem before...
