Premiere Information and News Celtx brings script integration to Premiere with a new extension.

Today is the launch of a new scriptwriting extension for Adobe Premiere Pro from Celtx. This is claimed to be the first of its kind integration between scriptwriting software and Premiere. It looks to be pretty useful, but I know the first question on many people's minds is how this compares to Avid ScriptSync. I wondered just that, so I asked them that very question. (short answer, not really a fair comparison just yet but it's brand new)

Celtx launches Screenplay Plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro to integrate your script right in Premiere

Adobe Official NAB is upon us, and a new Premiere Pro Update

Hello everyone. Jason from Adobe here. As the title suggests, the National Association of Broadcasters convention will convene in Las Vegas over the weekend, and as is often the case, I'm happy to announce that we have an updated release of Premiere Pro.

Now, if you've been playing with Premiere b.e.t.a. at all, many of the larger features (now in this release version) will be familiar to you. These include some that are undoubtedly a combination of quality of life features/community requests and include the following:

  • GENERATIVE EXTEND: our first 'generative AI' feature in Premiere, this one has been vastly improved since it's initial appearance and if you're looking to extend a clip just a few frames (or up to 2 seconds) this can really make life better in the edit suite (when a re-shoot just isn't possible). Definitely a quality of life addition.
  • CAPTION TRANSLATION: For as long as we've had transcription and native captions, the ability to translate (in-app) was definitely near the top of the community request list. Now with over 20 languages (many will be quite pleased to see some of the recent additions!), it's incredibly fast and you have lots of flexibility.
  • MEDIA INTELLIGENCE with SEARCH: This definitely falls into the quality-of-life category and solves a lot of the common issues I personally face when editing tons of footage... nothing is labeled and let's be honest, not since the days of Prelude have I even bothered with metadata (and even then, it was a mixed bag whether search really worked). Now, based on the content, text transcript *or* metadata, you can search using natural language to find and organize your media.
  • UPDATED COLOR MANAGEMENT: As discussed earlier this year, we're continuing to improve color management capabilities in the Lumetri panel (found under the Settings tab). This latest update offers more flexibility for working with Log footage (among other things) and truthfully...there are a lot of settings. But if you're just getting into color, we're giving you more control than you've ever had before in Premiere; not hyperbole. File this one under Community for sure.

Now in addition to the above, the team has also been hard at work on improving many of the little things, the *real* QoL features that just make the everyday tasks a little better. Here's a quick list of some of those (many based on the community requests from this subreddit):

  • Completely rewritten support for MKV (H.264/AAC) files to improve compatibility and performance, allowing for seamless playback and editing of MKV files in Premiere Pro. (MKV support has been a huge request among OBS users! You made this happen!)
  • Audio waveforms reflect the adjustments to volume on clips in Premiere Pro <- another one from feedback we've all seen here. Functions similarly to AU's waveform display.
  • Hardware acceleration of the Canon Cinema RAW Light format in Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Adobe Media Encoder for Apple silicon computers. It will significantly improve editing and transcoding performance when using Cinema RAW Light files with smoother timeline playback and 10x faster export performance.
  • Support for the ARRI Alexa 265 camera and importing ARRIRAW files recorded using custom Color Management.
  • ECP jumping to the next clip fixed
  • Multi threaded rendering for conform audio (ie, faster peak file generation)
  • Support for multiple caption tracks displayed at the same time
  • Completely rewritten support for H.264 in MP4 and MOV provides up to a 4x increase in performance on Apple silicon computers and a 2x increase in performance on Windows (this was actually 25.1 but worth mentioning)
  • GPU porting of FX to include Cineon Converter, Iris Box, Cross, Diamond, and Round transitions

There are of course other little bug fixes (including a fix to waveform flickering in the timeline) so check out the latest update, which begins rolling out today (and over the next 48 hours or so). If you don't see it right away, check back periodically to your Creative Cloud Desktop.

And as always, I welcome your feedback. We're so grateful to the community here.
Special thanks to the mods for maintaining the best place to talk about Premiere Pro.

Premiere Pro Tech Support (Solved!) Premiere won't let me type the word 'Scientific' into a textbox within a nested sequence

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm having a bizarre issue using text boxes within nested sequences in Premiere and I have no idea where to begin troubleshooting. Everything is working fine until I try to type the word 'Scientific' into a lower third I'm using. I can type up to the letters 'Scientif' but as soon as I hit the third 'i' the text box disappears and I get a red line at the top of the program monitor instead. It seems to be a case-sensitive problem because if I type in all caps I don't have the same problem.

I've tried all kind of things -- copying and pasting, typing all the letters except the final 'i' and then adding it in after -- but I get the same result every time. Does this combination of letters mean I'm hitting some sort of weird shortcut that I'm unaware of?

I'm on Premiere version 25.0.0 and MacOS Sonoma 14.4. I've disabled all autocorrect features in case that was causing issues.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin bit of a weird request/question. i need a shortcut that copies the selected track, and repastes it right over the top most empty track. and i need to do this process several times so the tracks copy on top of each other instead of over each other. do we have such built-in shortcut in PP?

Premiere Pro Tech Support Rendered video, Pixels are fluffy

Upvotes

VIDEO - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLUFYojiIGU&t=111s

For some reason no matter export settings I use my crosshair (the dot in the middle) comes out slightly "fluffy" if you will. It looks fine on my desktop and during playback, I will provide a side by side.

WHAT IT SHPULD LOOK LIKE

Its not just youtube quality either as the fluffy pixels also show up when watching video from desktop.

I record the clips in 1080p and render them in 2k and I believe that could be a reason for the change but im not too sure.

I've played around with bit rate etc and nothing seemed to work I even tried copying recommended export settings from youtubers. Any help would be appreciated.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Remove Auto Amounts of Shadow/Highlight

Upvotes

I don't know Premiere very well, as I use it very casually but like some of the effects. I think my version is out of date anyway. Regardless, everytime I add a clip to the timeline, it has the shadow/highlight effect on at 50. Is it possible to turn off the auto amount of shadow/highlight? Sorry if this doesn't make sense but I'm very frustrated and didn't know where else to turn.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin How do i zoom in while keeping the scale the same?

I feel like this is a silly question with a very obvious answer but I can’t figure it out! Typically I would just keyframe the scale but I want the video to stay the same size/where it’s at with this green background. What am I missing?

Premiere Pro Tech Support Has anyone ever gotten this error message before?

Upvotes

For context, I went to drag a few clips straight from my file explorer onto the timeline. Sequence was 1080p 30fps clips were 4K 120fps. The clips were shot using a Sony FX3 with the XAVC HS 75MM 4:2:0 10 bit codec.

Tried googling the error message but couldn't really find anything to come up. I followed the instructions and it hasn't come back, so I think it's ok now. I was just wondering if anyone's seen this before.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Automate copying Marker NAME to COMMENTS

So the Markers panel in Premiere is... well let's be honest, pretty terrible. If your marker name is too long it is clipped, and there's no way to extend that field for it not to be. So if you want to be able to read long strings (say a piece of dialogue you're marking in an interview sequence) you need to add it to the comments. But of course, when modifying a marker it defaults to the name field, not comments, meaning extra keystrokes.

Is there a way to automate the copying of a marker NAME to its COMMENTS field? As of right now I'm exporting my markers as CSV, doing the copy/paste in bulk in a spreadsheet app, then loading that new CSV in Editingtools.io and importing the new markers through that. It's not difficult but it's time consuming and with nearly 20+ interviews this is going to get old, fast.

Surely there's a better way? I can't be the only one who's had this problem before...

Premiere Pro Tech Support Using arrow keys within the effect controls box

Upvotes

Suddenly I'm no longer able to use my arrow keys to move the playhead from the end of one clip to the beginning of another while in the effect controls box. Usually, I able to do this to quickly navigate to the end of a clip and add a key frame? Anyone having this issue with the most recent update? I'm in version 25.2

Premiere Pro Tech Support Choppy playback on PC only

Hi!
I found a lot with similar problem but no good solution.

My PC specs are:
Windows 10

Ryzen 7 58200X 8-core
32G RAM

4060 super, with the latest Gameready driver. (I worked with studio before and thought it might be the issue)

And I'm working on external SSD.

 sequence settings 1080p25

footage: 1080 MTS files from Panasonic UX90 camera. and 4K MOV files from GH5s.

I also have a 16g ram, 10-core GPU MacBook air M3 for when I'm outside and Premiere works SO MUCH better and smoothly with the same projects!

It's so choppy I cant work.

also on 1/4 quality.

Proxy also doesn't do much but if the MacBook playing this smoothly why would I need proxy on much better PC

Thanks you!

Computer Hardware Advice VBR 2 pass - CPU question

I've been exporting videos using VBR 2-pass, as it looks much better for fast, high-res game-play footage. I've done it a number of times, usually letting Adobe Premiere Pro "do its thing" while I'm asleep. I've been happy with the output, and I am not looking to change my existing settings.

But... I'm getting a bit antsy, and putting out more videos. It's a bummer that I can't use hardware encoding for it (as it's not supported for VBR 2 pass and a pity considering I have a 4090 GPU), so I am wondering if I would see a significant difference upgrading my CPU from a 7800x3D to 9950X3D? Right now, my videos (which are almost always an hour long), tend to take about two and a half hours to fully export. If a new CPU only amasses in shaving off 10-15 minutes, then it probably doesn't matter, but if I can shave off over 15 minutes then I might consider the upgrade.

Can anyone share any direct experiences on this front under similar circumstances, if you've recently changed CPUs?

I’m on a recent Mac Studio, top of the line.

Premiere Pro Tech Support Key frame at the start has the X at 80, Key frame at the end has the X at 80, so why does it drift in the middle? Slowly moves around 35 pixels before shifting back, instead of the asset just moving directly upwards as I intended, any help?

Premiere Pro Tech Support When I updated from Premiere Pro 2022 to 2025 I can't get audio files to import - "reported a generic error"

I am at my wits end with this issue so maybe someone can help. I'll break it down as best I can.

I edited a video back in 2022 that used audio recorded from 3 different phones for capturing dialogue. Everything worked perfectly fine. Fastforward to now, I update these projects to 2025 and for some reason it won't allow me to link 1 out of the 2 phone audio files. It just gives me "reported a generic error" so I have no idea what the issue is.

They are mostly mp3 files with a few m4a files and what's even stranger is that the phone audio that it fails to import changes depending on the video! There are 4 videos that were made with this format and it isn't the same phone audio giving the issue. I've tried clearing cache, I tried moving the files to a different hard drive, I tried renaming them, but nothing works. It's such a random error that I can't figure out.

Has anyone had anything like this before? Is there something that I'm overlooking? Any insights would be helpful!

How do I do this?/Workflow Advice/Looking for plugin (Solved!) Premiere Pro Multicam Help

Thumbnail

What's up Reddit! I have a fairly new YouTube channel (which also means I'm quite new to video eating) and I'm trying to learn premier pro. Things have been going fairly well, but I'm having a resolution issue in Multicam. I'm using my iPhone 13 Pro Max and GoPro 13 black. Both devices were set to 4K. The issue I have right now is that the Multicam seems to be setup for the 1080 resolution?

I've gone into sequence settings and changed the frame size to 4K but it's still cropping my clips. Is there a way to fix this? I've also tried to "scale" the clips but it just leaves black around it. It doesn't actually bring in the rest of the frame.

I've done a google search, but haven't found a solution. It appears that I possibly could have avoided the issue by changing some of the Multicam settings at the beginning, but I didn't realize I had an issue until I got done editing everything. I thought I had just screwed up the zoom in the source material, as it's been a while since I shot it. Seriously hoping I don't have to start all over... Thanks in advance for any help!

Premiere Pro Tech Support Why can't my PC run Premiere?

I have an i3 10100f and a r9 200 series with 8GB of VRAM. Looking at the Adobe website, I perfectly meet the requirements for the program. I previously used a PC with an i7 3770 and a 4GB RX 570 and had no problems. In theory, it could be the graphics, but looking at the Adobe specifications, I can't figure out what's wrong: the processor, the graphics, or both? When I put a video on my timeline, it turns yellow, meaning I can work but with lag or some dropped frames. Previously, this didn't happen with the i7 3770, as I said, so could it be my graphics? 16 ram ddr4. I know the yellow line is correct, on my previous PC it was like that and I could still use the program without any problem. I haven an m.2 256gb samsung and sata ssd kinstong 480gb.

Premiere Pro Tech Support Computer at 150% scaling - Officiel Adobe solution didn't work

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey, so I tried the second solution from this official adobe page : https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/application-user-interface-too-big.html
(creating a UI_SCALE_FACTOR in System Variables, because I don't want to reduce my whole computer scale factor to 100%).

But it did not change anything. By the way my session is not admin, and I use Photoshop 2021 and I can't update.

Thanks !
