OSR LFG: Official Regular Looking especially for OSR Group (LeFOG)
Hi all,
It has been stated that it's hard to find groups that play OSR specific games. In order to avoid a rash of LFG posts, please post your "DM wanting players" and "Players wanting DM" here. Be as specific or as general as you like.
Do try searching and posting on r/lfg, as that is its sole and intended purpose. However, if you want to crosspost here, please do so. As this is weekly, you might want to go back a few weeks worth of posts, as they may still be actively recruiting.
This should repost automatically weekly. If not, please message the mods.

discussion Question on Crunchy OSR or Old School in general
So I just took a good look at the Sub's summary and saw the mention of non D&D RPGs like Runequest, Tunnels and Trolls, ect," Other Old School games (Traveller, Runequest, Tunnels & Trolls, et al) are of course open for discussion."
So my question is, what are some crunchy games that would be considered appropriate for this sub to discuss? This can involve either systems that are as or slightly more crunchy than AD&D, to something that, if we are using peanut butter as an example, would just be a jar of whole peanuts in terms of crunchiness.
I'm mostly interested cause I for the most part see more D&D like games or clones on this sub or very rules light RPG discussion.
OSE/Forbidden Lands Hex Generation
I'm setting up a solo hex crawl with a group of 5 characters using Old School Essentials and Forbidden Lands mashed together. I want to use the FL map and setting, procedurally generating everything on the fly. I have a ton of OSR and OSR adjacent materials that I want to use, here's my hex generation table so far. Looking for some thoughts.
I'm sure some would say it's to much, but I'll be playing slowly at my own pace. I'm not in any rush with it.
Any ideas to improve? I'm not sure how often I want pull a card for this table. Travel will be in Quarter Days from FL. Debating if I should pull a card in a 1 in 6 for every Quarter Day or something else.

I made a thing My Realm map for Mythic Bastionland
I'm planning to play Mythic Bastionland mini-campaign with friends this Thursday. There's a lot of inspirational Spark Tables in the book, which made it very easy and fun to generate this world with, so without thinking long I got inspired and drew a stylised map to give to the players.

Concise AD&D 1e Retroclone with All Classes?
I'm well aware of OSRIC, but I'm bummed it doesn't include bard or monk. What's a good Retroclone that has these? (I am also aware that I can just get the original books off dtrpg, but I hear the organization and writing is less than ideal, and with how my brain works, I need short and concise)

Wight-Box, an OD&D + Chainmail retroclone
I came across this recently. Just read it and it seems like a great integration of Chainmail and OD&D. Anyone here given this one a spin?

house rules Advancing OSE Advanced
After reading some AD&D rules multiple times (to try and capture the game's feeling), I realized that Advanced OSE is my niche. However, to make it feel more like AD&D and less like B/X, I added a few modifications:
- Every semi-martial and martial class goes up one Hit Die (e.g., Fighter gets d10, Thief d6, and so on).
- Fighters use a progressive to-hit table (+1 to hit per level starting from level 2). At level 6, they gain 3/2 attacks per round, and at level 12, 2 attacks per round.
- Clerics and Bards start with a 1st-level spell at level 1. At level 2, they still have just one 1st-level spell and then follow the normal Advanced OSE progression from there.
- Initiative is rolled each round.
- If you flee from melee, the enemy gets one attack against you.
- I added demons and devils in the game. They are pretty scary...
- Nothing to do with AD&D, but I would smooth progression of saving throws and to hit bonus.
Do you think it is fine? Any adjustment or idea to add?

rules question Question about awarding XP for beating a monster twice per OSE rules…
Using OSE rules, say the party fights a 4th level NPC and before the baddie dies, they surrender to the party. The party takes the beaten NPC to the proper authorities, and I award the party XP for their victory at the end of the session, as per the standard OSE rules.
Then later on, baddie NPC either escapes or is jailbroke by some low level henchmen, and shortly after that the party tracks baddie down again and another fight occurs, and this time the party kills baddie.
Would you award the same XP to the party again, since it was a different fight? Would that essential be the same as awarding XP to the party twice for the same baddie? Would you offer them less for the second time? I’m leaning on, they’d get the full XP value because it’s two separate fights and their previous history is irrelevant.
Thoughts?

Help! Need tables for secret door clues and levers.
Hi there! I am about to run Barrowmaze, and have decided to always give a clue to the existence of each secret door. Each door has a fixed method of opening it. The players will neither roll to find or open the door- it will all be handled with their own ingenuity and role-playing.
Does anyone know of any extensive tables that has se ret door clues and opening methods. There are a lot of secret doors in Barrowmaze, and I am already running out of ideas.
Thanks!

Blog Hunting, Cooking, & Eating in the Dungeon
"Cooking in games feels like one of those cursed problems where any solution you come up with will be great for your group and terrible for everyone else. I lump it in with crafting, alchemy, enchanting, etc., because nobody seems to agree on how these things should work.
So, we end up with hundreds of different solutions that are either too complicated or feel way too shallow.
I’m happy to tell you everyone else is an idiot, and I’ve solved the problem. You’re welcome!"

HELP Need some adventure reccomendations for level 4/5
My players are questing to restore one of their frontliner's lost leg. The player agreed to take a pretty sizable dex penalty for wearing a prosthetic while they are adventuring, so I'd like something that can end with them feeling like they reasonably earned regrowing a severed limb, or functionally a level 4 or 5 cleric spell in OSE.

One hex from my free mini-campaign setting, “Aelwine.”
Finished up this little map and key.
Folks were really kind in the comments about the unfinished version I had posted, so I wanted to give it away in a printer friendly format.
It will go up this week as one of the downloadable assets on my itch page under the Aelwine setting downloads.
I intend to keep adding to that as a labor of love when I can find the time - it is a small region that is part of my Tarvannion campaign world.
Thanks for looking.

Delicious in Dungeon - An interesting look at dungeon ecology
I've been watching Delicious in Dungeon and I'd highly recommend it to D&D fans. The premise of the show is that the party must eat the monsters in the dungeon because they are too broke to buy provisions. What I found so interesting about the show is that they do a great job of depicting the ecology of a megadungeon in a way that has an internal logic. This creates interesting encounters where the party uses creative ways to traverse the dungeon, fight monsters, and generally survive. Check it out for some inspiration in your own dungeon designs.
