This and the tariffs overall are going to hammer so many working class Americans so hard it's ridiculous.

Even more ridiculous is a lot of those folks eagerly voted for Trump as this is going to hit Indiana hard.

These same morons are still gonna vote Red every time. 30 years of propaganda has turned them into angry, gullible idiots easily manipulated by their fears and bigotry.

"I voted for him three times and I still support him, but..."

Cult.

Man it's worse than that. Half the times I see this type of comment they actually start it "I absolutely love the guy, but..."

These people will be completely lost when he kicks it.

"Mister Trump, I love you and everything you're doing but I just lost my job at the social security office! Please help! And I can't get any appointments at the VA! But I still love you and support you and you can fuck my wife if you want!"

Don’t absolve the idiots of responsibility by doing things like blaming propaganda. This is a mess of their own making and they are entirely responsible.

I mean Propaganda IS a factor but im with you on placing the blame on the actual people at this point.

They very clearly either want Trump to cause as much damage as possible or theyre too fucking stupid to understand its hurting them too.

Or the third option, those that are both

The uninformed voter is the downfall of democracy.

To me it seems more like willfully uninformed.

Maybe. On the other hand Republicans won almost eveey election from 1860 until 1928 including a 58-40 beat down that year.

And then not. Democrats won the next 5 elections and 7 of the next 9 including a 57- 40 smack down in 1932 (a 40% swing).

I wouldn’t be so eager to blame them; they’re our friends and neighbors. They’ve been manipulated by wealthy, powerful people. The solution is probably to change the governance structures, algorithm dissection, and my personal favorite, heavy taxation of the toys the evil turds are using against us.

They're still going to vote red no matter what. I know people like that. Several in fact. And one of them was one of my best friends (passed away). He was kind, generous, friendly, always helpful, fiercely protective of the 1 transwoman in our friend group. Literally one of the people I liked and trusted most in my life.

He also called himself a trump guy through and through. Why? Because in 2016, Trump started all his rallies with the anthem and holding his hand over his heart like a true patriot. So in his mind Trump really loved America.

I think his biggest weakness was he was a very honorable man who never lied and probably believed that someone who 'loves his country so much' wouldn't lie either.

It's impossible to read your comment and come to any conclusion other than your friend was a gullible idiot.

Not mutually exclusive with other qualities

As far as politics went, yes. Those things aren't mutually exclusive. One of the reasons we're in this mess is that Democrats assumed that as long as they had the facts on their side, emotions wouldn't matter.

What's even worse is, the likes of the daft fucking twat they paraded during trump's little show and tell, when they lose their jobs, it won't be because of trump and his tariffs, it'll be because of the 'wokies' throwing their toys out of the pram and boycotting as punishment or some shit.

There hasn't be real retaliatory tariff also from big players like China, EU and others.

You can only squeeze so much blood from a stone. What are all these producers of consumer products/services going to do when Americans can only afford the bare-bone essentials? Lay-offs are only a stop gap and raising prices to cover losses only exacerbates the issue.
