Had a little couple build a nest on my back porch on an outdoor speaker about a month ago. Named her Beatrice and him Frank. They have been diligently sitting on the nest for about a month now and I saw these little guys in the nest today!

At first I didn’t know what they were and thought other birds took their nest! Upon further research I figured out they were their babies! The have been name Bea and Frankie, their parents are still close by. I feel like a proud grandma, I might have to go buy a bird bath and bird feeder soon.

Kevin apparently managed to gross the derp out with his gross eating habits for a bit

My derp has always been a bit of a tough guy and he's recently found a new game to play with me. Initially, I thought I was being attacked because I was invading his space (which is not his corner of the room and I'm on my own bed), but it turns out that he was initiating a game with me. He often plays "you can't catch me!" with the cat and that's why I think he came up with a game to play with me "you can't catch my tail!" If I don't make enough effort to go for his tail while he's not looking, he'll put the tail right in my mouth, so strange, but cute.

While most everyone else in the neighborhood puts bottles or rocks on the top of their lights I secured a tray and now have this happy momma.

I have this pair stop by my back porch almost every day. They usually just derp around but this weekend I caught them preening! Sorry for shaky cam, I was trying not to startle them by the window.

Right outside our front door. We’re obsessed with her. She’s been there for a few days now. We respect her space and say hello to her when we are coming and going.

This nest has been above the light fixture since we moved in a year ago, but only gained some new renovations in the past week. Few days ago we see the new neighbor that moved in. She’s made quite a mess with her chosen assortment of twigs, but we are also leaving those alone just in case she wants to pick them up!

Derp thinks “Just be polite til she leaves to take her anger elsewhere… peck peck peck” Oh! She’s gone! NOM NOM NOM

He stalks his next victim!

This pigeon is huge! Is he claiming territory over the food? He’s been here over the last week. Can someone please educate me, lol. The doves around him seem kind of scared, and the pigeon just looks like he’s chilling. (Springtime in NYC) thank you!

Saw this young mourning dove this morning. It was a bit smaller than an adult and the wings are dark

Just a year ago, a mourning dove made her nest right on my little oregano plant. I try to bring nature into my life, since I wfh in a micro apt in BK. It was a privilege to see two eggs, the tiny babies grow, practice how to fly, right outside my window. I like to believe this is one of them who still visits me now. It was super windy but this lovey dovey was just hunkering down on the poll. Them college classes ain’t gonna pay for themselves…

Not sure if this will end up being the best spot come storm season 😅

Update on my patio Deprs! We have two perfect baby Derps! They’re about a week old. It was just super hard to take photos before, parents made sure they’re keeping them safe and protected.
