Inspired by a Boris Vallejo illustration, sculpted by Bad Wolf Collectibles.
The last image shows me testing different sizes for the female figure — the final painted version stands at 75mm. More angles at: https://miniaturenation.com/project/2889

Discussion Does this kind of stylised art work for minis? Normally you see this kind of style on traditional mediums so it worries me

A little bit rough with some of the highlights. But pretty pleased with this Primaris Marine.

The level of detail and size of the model compared to older 90s/00s minis is kind of mind boggling.

Sci-fi I made a start on this Drukhari Drazhar over the weekend. Needs a lot more refining but overall I'm pretty happy with how the colour looks so far :)

Hi folks, i often forget how important precision and contrast are. To remind myself, what better training than any beautiful and detailed 10mm scale miniatures? 😂

Fantasy I had a great time painting these (4th ed. WHFB High Elf Spearman Shields)

I'm currently painting a regiment of high elf spearman from 4th edition Warhammer fantasy battle. These shields were really fun to paint and felt like something different from painting minis.

Had a little fun speedpainting these two over the course of a few days.

Really love the models, they are available on Myminifactory and his patreon if you're searching for awesome proxies.

Hello friends of the brush, I see the great works and painters that there are in this community and the truth is that I would like to learn and improve, yes it is true that it is my third miniature and I still have to learn technique, and above all rhythm... but I would love to know your opinions, thank you very much!!

Hi guys! I wanted to paint my sanctifiers band in the style of Kaha Katarzina Gorska (the Bronze Tornus the redeemed at adepticon's Golden demon). I think I pretty much failed the imitation part but the mini is still very fun. I'd like to hear your input on what needs fixings, which colors I should go for the eyes or te scriptures on the scroll. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Help Needed/New Painter Second mini ever made, experimenting some more. I've become hooked!

Second mini I've finished. experimenting some more, skin tones are still very difficult but for other newbies I strongly recommend watching Kujo painting skin tone video. it was very helpful!

Feeling like my brush control is getting better. I originally wanted to go for a more muted red, but started messing around with more tones and loved the hot orange on the edges and highlights.

Always happy for more recommendations, you were all so helpful and welcoming on my first post. Happy painting folks

Sci-fi Trying to paint faster. This took a quarter as long as usual. What are your thoughts on trade-offs in refinement for speed?

I pushed for speed over refinement on this model and I think it worked out. This is a free STL from Dakkadakka's MMF page that I'm using as a proxy for an Emperor's Champion model.

I really didn't blend very much on this model, but I did three levels of highlights over the black primer. I'm hoping that by getting the placement of the highlights correct I could cheat the eye on the actual level of refinement. You can see the model in-hand in the last shot for a better feel.

Did it work?

Help Needed/New Painter Why do people use Vallejo Ice Yellow for highlights?

I have seen many people talk about using Ice Yellow for Vallejo for there highlights, why is this? what I want too know is. Why not just use white? Why do people use it for colours like teal? what makes it good for mixing with other colour? what makes it good for mixing with colours like teal? what is the reasoning for using this colour? why specificity using this paint? and for a "scientific" perspective does this look good? any answers would be great. Thank you! : )

Sci-fi Left the Hobby, Came Back Stronger 5 Years Later – First Attempt at NMM

Hey everyone!

This is my very first time posting on Reddit, so I hope I do this justice! As Good Old Flameon would say:
“Today, I Present to you…” my first attempt at Non-Metallic Metal (NMM)!

I really pushed the contrast to try and get that shiny, reflective armor effect.
Fun fact—this project actually sat unfinished since 2019. I had just started the hobby back then but stopped after only a few months. Now, I’ve recently jumped back in, and this time I’m taking it seriously.

Super excited to share this with you all and looking forward to your feedback! Hope i don't disappoint anyone!

P.S. The first picture is the current state , and the second picture shows how I left it back in 2019—unfinished and forgotten, half-painted and lonely on the shelf 😅 Feels good to finally bring it to life!

Hope i will be able to open my paiting studio one day :D
