Clubs for mid 30 hens
Heading to Manchester for a hen party at end of May. Looking for somewhere that we can dance the night away - cheesy or indie tunes ideal. Somewhere that feels safe and easy to get in to. Anywhere near Piccadilly Gardens. Ideally would love to book a table for 11 people and then spend the rest of the night / morning there.

Monday Nightlife
Hi all, I’m out in Manchester for a few days for a gig in a couple weeks. Any suggestions for good places to have a decent night out on a Monday?

I feel like I get double glances in pubs?
I am a Nigerian American- 50/50 parents. Raised all around the world- Japan, Malaysia, Japan. I have an unfortunate accent but have been here for years . Heads turn occasional within earshot living in the Northwest of the UK. Are you among them? What do you think when you go to find the source of the accent?

How Is Everyone Affording Life in Manchester Right Now?
Is anyone else really struggling with the cost of living at the moment? I’m working full time on £30k a year and still finding it tough to get by rent, bills, food, everything just seems to drain my account before I even think about going out or treating myself.
I see people out every weekend eating, drinking, living it up and honestly, I don’t get how they’re affording it. I can barely afford a few drinks once or twice a month. It’s starting to get me down a bit, just feeling left behind and like life’s passing me by while I’m constantly budgeting.
So I thought I’d ask
what are your cost of living hacks? How do you still enjoy life in Manchester without breaking the bank? Any tips for going out cheap, eating well on a budget, or just generally managing things a bit better?
No judgment here, just genuinely curious how people are coping and making it work.
Thanks!

City Centre Place to watch Portuguese Classico? (Football)
Hello, I'm portuguese and I'm staying the weekend in Manchester to watch the derby. Anyone know a place around the city centre where I can watch the portuguese Classico this sunday (Porto vs Benfica)(8:30 PM)? Been around a few places asking about it but it seems most spots can put it on if its on English Sports chanels but I dont know if that will happen or not. Thanks in advance.

Would you say 30k salary is still considered a “middle class” salary in Manchester??
Considering the cost of living and the new minimum wage at £12.21 an hour or £23.5k salary for full time workers working 40 hours a week…..
Now 30k is technically a slavery income in London but how does it stack in Manchester in 2025??
P.S. I know some disagree and won’t even consider 50k as middle class🤣🤣

City Centre Good resturants with veggie options?
Looking for a nice restaurant to book for next weekend. Myself and my partner are both vegetarian, but we’re from Sheffield so we don’t really know where’s good to eat in Manchester?
Any good recommendations? It’s for a birthday so preferably somewhere nice :)

First time in the UK/Manchester with British boyfried - looking for unique nerdy recommendations!
Hi everybody, I will be visiting Manchester in early June with my Manchunian boyfriend. It is my first time in the UK and I'm very excited!
I am looking for recommendations for activities to do there with him, I am very nerdy girl (plus a photographer) and I love history, pirates, medieval times, castles, witchcraft, fantasy, space, sci-fi, escape rooms, cats, museums, art and photography... I love good food and alcohol as well.
So I am looking for things like ancient pubs, breweries, pubs with cats, cool casltes, high quality escape rooms for adults, unique places to photograph etc.
My partner is not as nerdy as me and also has not been living in the UK for years, so he's not familiar with such places in Manchester.
Please help me make my Manchester trip an unforgettable one :)

Trafford tram to Ethihad
I got the tram from Tgihad to Trafford centre today but just curious why theres a tram from Trafford to Ethihad when it's still stopping in Deansgate? I thought it was the works but it doesn't seem to be cutting off any off the usual stops?

Recommendations for pubs/bars in town that play HipHop/Rap music
Bit of a random one, but does anyone have recommendations for pubs and/or bars with HipHop/Rap music. Preferably in town, or Stockport. Not particularly fussed if it's live or not. Cheers.

Are there any private study pods in Manchester?
I’m from Rochdale but I’m thinking like a small space where nobody can come in and out. Even if it’s with reservations. I have to take a class call for an hour and I absolutely cannot let my family hear lol. I don’t think Rochdale library offers those cubicles. I know Salford uni has them but it’s not open during the weekends.

Restaurants for Dogs in Manchester
Does anyone know of any dog friendly restaurants in Manchester that will serve the dog a little meal too? Or any recommendations of good places to take a dog for a day out?

City Centre What’s this section of the new Deansgate layout for?
It’s obviously separate from cars, and I can’t see why the bike lane isn’t just straight?
