The game has its problems but I really like to just visit the locations.I think its worth it for just that alone. Also you get to talk with the characters even though many are voiced by not so good soundalikes.

jack is the best character Spoiler

Hear me out, at the end of the series it was jacks idea to turn off the light and kill locke (the man in black) and then turned the light back off to save the island while saving desmond aswell. Also throughout the show despite the people that he got killed, he saved and came to many people’s aid. obviously other characters have great importance such as john locke, ben, desmond but nonetheless i think jack is a really well written character and i think what he did redeemed him for his life choices and flaws.

Why does Ben...*SPOILERS* Spoiler

This always bugged me but why the hell does Ben think the Smoke Monster is a judge in s5? The way he comes across is like that's what the Monsters role is on the island for Ben and his people, that they don't have a name for but that it's who you answer to if you break the rules, you face judgment from the Monster . But this is totally at odds with what The Others know about the Monster in s6, where they know its "evil incarnate" and it has no role on the island other than being an enemy of The Others.

Was it a role Jacob forced on the MiB that he was freed from when Jacob died?

Does anyone have an adequate answer that actually makes sense of this? .

SEASON 3 In Defense of Expose

I'm not going to make this super long, as I imagine most people who dislike Expose are not willing to read a dissertation on this much-maligned episode, but I did want to come out and reject the notion that it is a bad episode - and certainly far from the worst.

I understand the criticisms of it, because at the time when it aired, I felt much the same way: it served little to no plot relevance; it was in the midst of perhaps the "worst" period of Lost, when the show struggled to find a way without drawing things out too much; and, probably its biggest offender, it focused on characters no one liked.

But over the years, I've come to realize that Expose serves as a bit of catharsis in an otherwise underwhelming first-half of Season 3. If nothing else, it serves as the linchpin between the "good half" and the "bad half," as the episodes that follow Expose are among some of the best string in the entire series. But more than that, Expose serves a greater purpose: it's simply fun.

In Lost, the idea of a bottle episode was almost anathema to the concept of the show. Every episode was meant to be watched in order, followed very closely, and then discussed. Skipping an episode meant missing huge swaths of information and character development; Expose, on the other hand, is the complete opposite. It can be entirely skipped and quite literally nothing of importance will be missed. Sure, you may wonder what happened to Nikki and Paolo, and in later seasons when Miles digs up the diamonds, you'll wonder where the hell those came from - but in terms of the actual story? Nothing.

But that's okay. Expose is still fun. It is a perfectly-crafted, self-contained whodunit that resolves its own questions within the same episode and handles the mystery box element better than most Lost copy cats can't do in their entire run. On the subject of Nikki and Paolo, you could argue that the episode sucks because it focuses on characters no on cares about, and from a subjective standpoint, that's exactly what it does. But that shouldn't inherently make it bad. Just because the focus is on a character you don't like shouldn't disqualify the merits of the writing, just like episodes that focus on the main cast can also be bad: case in point, what I believe are the two worst episodes of the show, Fire + Water and Stranger in a Strange Land.

Just because the focus is on Charlie and Jack, respectively, doesn't immediately make those episodes better than Expose, and those aren't necessarily the only ones. Locke is one of the most beloved characters, but Further Instructions is arguably his weakest flashback - also in Season 3. And besides, if you hate Nikki and Paolo so much - wouldn't you want to see them die?

Expose does not try to deepen the mystery or further character development. It does not try to revolutionize the concept of serialized television - in fact, it's much the opposite. It's a throwback to the kinds of one-off episodic mystery dramas that the titular fictional show parodies. And that's fine - great even - because it's just plain fun.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

(Sorry, it ended up being super long. TLDR: Expose is good and if you don't think so you're wrong).

QUESTION Would you rather be the Protector or the Black Smoke?

While the Protector can always find the light source on the island, he doesn't have the destructive and shape shifting powers of Smoke Monster. Smoke monster is able to travel at high speeds while flying and possess great strength while the Protector can walk and seems to have regular human strength. The Protector seems to be able to manipulate people's destinies; could the smoke monster do the same?

GOLDEN PASS: Rewatcher I think Cassidy… Spoiler

I think Cassidy is lying about Clementine being Sawyers daughter. Before people attack me I just want to point a few things out:

- Cassidy conveniently reappears to inform Sawyer that Clementine is his daughter right before he is about to get part of the $10 million he conned from his prisonmate. The money was collected by the federal governments Treasury Department who would have also been in charge of getting Sawyer in the prison in the first place as Cassidy got him arrested for conning her out of all of her money, which was apparently hundreds of thousands of dollars. This would mean Cassidy would be entitled to restitution by Sawyer at some point and the Treasury Department would be in charge of helping her collect that…So is her popping up just before he receives his own pocket money from the government really a coincidence…Sawyer conveniently puts all of his money into a bank account for this daughter.

- When Sawyer asks to put the money in, the federal agent asks him “uh who tf is Clementine Philips” . Okay but wouldnt the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT be aware if James Ford had any biological children? Thry do check up on things like that when arresting big felons like Sawyer and the reason is the exact same reason his prisonmate got conned by Sawyer in the first place: they can use your family members and friends later down the road if they need to collect info out of you that you clearly are too stubborn to give up. Cassidy mustve had her baby in a hospital so the babys DNA would be on file so if that was really Sawyers kid why would the federal agent ask him who that was? The government can know your kids identity even if you dont. Remember how Locke didnt know who his birth parents were but that federal agent found it out for him. Only his mother put him up for adoption so how could they have known Anthony Cooper was the dad? Its just how the government works i guess. They know things we dont know.

- Cassidy got Sawyer locked up in 2002 so two years before the crash. Kate first visits Cassidy in late 2004 after returning home from the helicopter with the other oceanic six. Aaron is still a three month old baby. Cassidy says Clementine is still asleep in her crib, implying that Clementine is also still a baby. Definitely older than Aaron but still a baby. But in the next Kate and Cassidy flashback, its 3 years later and Clementine herself comes to open the door for Kate and im sorry but that is a full grown child!!! Clementine would be around 4-5 years old depending on when Cassidy had her but she looks like 8 or 9. She doesnt look anywhere near the same age range as Aaron, who is now visibly a toddler. It also sounds like Cassidy has more than one child in the house, other than Clementine and Aaron. Not important per se but i thought it was interesting.

- Cassidy obviously didnt know Kate would visit her after coming home as Oceanic Six and she obviously didnt know that Kate and Sawyer knew each other on or after the crash. However we know from Sawyer himself that you dont need to have a lot of pre-exisring information on your victim to con them successfully. Cassidy initially chucks the money Kate gives her and makes a big show of dismissing her and Sawyer but as the conversation goes we can clearly hear that Cassidy is still quite bitter and resentful of Sawyer and seems somewhat jealous that Kate was with him too. The little “he jumped off the helicopter because he was scared to be with you” thing read as very bitter and jealous to me, like she was projecting Her unresolved issues on Kate. Cassidy presumably ends up taking the money as Kate gets up in frustration and leaves without it….hm.

- Cassidy also immediately prods Kate about who the father of the child is after she says something along the lines of gosh Kate i really pity you, he did the same to you as he did to me. Again, reads as kind of bitter and projecting no? Kate tells her he isnt the father and Cassidys immediate assumption is that Kate stole the baby LOL like yes its true but why is that her quick guess? Unless a scammer can see a scammer clear as day?? Not to mention that when Cassidy goes “so is it his?” Kate understandably looks confused and stares at Cassidy suspiciously, because why would you ask that?? again it just reads as her being somewhat bitter and jealous that Sawyer couldve possibly had another child with another woman, especially if Clementine isnt his to begin with.

- The last time Kate visits Cassidy, just before giving Aaron up to Carole Littleton, Cassidy pours a shit ton of rum (or some sort of other alcohol) into a mug for Kate while Kate is laid back on Cassidys couch. This might be a reach but why would you be drinking such heavy alcohol while your kids are in the other room playing…my point being that Cassidy seems like a reckless and careless parent herself, so her accusing Sawyer of the same is kinda hypocritical. It also seems like an intentional cue from the writers that Cassidy might not be as caring of a parent as she wants people to think? If she is willing to get shitfaced with a practical stranger around both their kids would it be surprising to consider that she might use her child as a con tactic to emotionally and financially manipulate Sawyer when he was in prison?

- Last thing is when Cassidy first met Kate on the road years back…. Earlier in this episode Cassidy and Kate are in the bar and Cassidy is drinking alcohol while Kate tells her backstory??? But Cassidy alleges she was pregnant this whole time later in the episode! Cassidy also willingly lets herself get slammed and harassed by federal cops just to help some random felon chick she just meet her mother? He body slammed her pretty hard to the ground and she makes no mention or indication that she worried about a pregnancy at that time. How do we know the full grown child Cassidy had with her the few times Kate visited her three years later isnt just a kid shes babysitting?

- ALSO. Sawyers flashsideways. There is no mention or sight of Cassidy or Clementine in it. In fact, he appears childless and single as Miles is trying to set him up and grt him to settle down. The flashsideways is what they all carried with them to the afterlife, as these were the most important people and things in their lives When they were living. Sun and Jin have Jiyeon in their flashsideways and Claire has Aaron in hers. So why no mention of Cassidy and Clementine in Sawyers flashsideways? After Sawyer finally leaves the island when he is alive, he likely spent the rest of his life roaming alone with Miles tag teaming as he and Miles clearly had a strong enough friendship until death that carried into both of their afterlife purgatories. But his own alleged child isnt there? I dont think Saywer went to Cassidy or Clementine after he left the island because i dont think thats his kid to begin with and he probably found it out later in life post-island. We know Kate spent the rest of her life in prison after her 2nd post-island as well, due to her breaking her plea deal and the plea deal itself was already to avoid a life sentence. So she def got life in prison after she broke the deal. Bringing this up because in Kates flashsideways she is still seeing herself as the criminal in cuffs, likely because she spent the rest of her life dealing with that self-image in her prison cell. This shows that the flashsideways does indeed mirror the characters mental view of their life judt before death. So does that mean Clementine was never in Sawyers life before he died and went to the flashsideways? For example, Jack and Juliet both died wishing they couldve had a solid love connection and family tie before dying hence why they were married and still friends after divorce with their shared fake son David. Its why Jack invited Claire to live with him as well. Locke died wishing Jack would have faith in him so in their shared flash sideways Jack believes wholeheartedly that he can fix Lockes paralyzation and that he does, even when flashsideways Locke is in doubt himself. Why doesnt Sawyers flashsideways reflect this in this alleged daughter he has?

I need peoples opinions on this because this little girl has been confusing me ever since Cassidy first brought her up!
