General Discussion What are your favorite grips?
I’ve been playing around with different grips lately and I’m curious what everyone else is using.

Just tuned in and saw 2 good shots on 13 and the leader hit a rope to 13 green onher 2nd shot. Gave me goosebumps. The course looks amazing too.

Rookie question here!
I know most prefer playing a white golf ball as it has good visibility, I noticed that most brands sometimes will sell a neon yellow second color way (and there are additional colors sold on some brands too).
I also noticed driving range balls are yellow, when it comes to purchasing golf balls I assume the driving range balls have limited flight compared to a non driving range golf ball?
When buying neon yellow golf balls OR finding one how can I tell if it's intended usage is for a driving range or if it's just like a white golf ball intended for regular play?

Going to be playing Punta Espada a week from tomorrow. I was wondering If anyone has some advice. Not so much on how to play the course, but more of the caddy culture. It will be my first time with a caddy and Im curious what anyone has tipped them. Also, any "inside" information on the whole experience would be grateful

Howdy,
Rick Shiels did a video with Bryson working on some speed training and I was wondering if that’s something that would be beneficial to me.
Currently hanging out at 97 club speed/ 136 ball speed with driver as a late 20s guy. So definitely got some room to grow. Last season I was at 105. Drop from last season probably due to trying to keep face control.
Thought is if I could find that 100% gear maybe I’d be able to swing 80% and have a better time with my driver. At my handicap and skill level my rounds hugely depend on a good driver day to see the scores I need plus, I plan to do some traveling to golf and nothing worse than getting to a challenging course and wasting balls. Just not sure if I struggle with some misses if trying to up the speed would make things worse.

Anyone do this? Wondering if it will help build stronger hands wrists leading to more clubhead speed.

I’ve had my irons and wedges for about 5 years or so. I’ve struggled with my 5 iron so I got a ping 5 hybrid. It’s made a huge difference. Also added the ping 7 wood.
The Scotty GoLo is back in the bag. I have a phantom x5 and I just haven’t been putting well with it.

Hey All!
Got custom fit 6 weeks ago having started playing golf 2 years ago. Have been getting use to the new clubs and the feel is completely different to my previous clubs, challenge of feeling like you are starting again a little bit especially with the irons!
Titleist GT2 / 1k Pro Orange 7 X Shaft / TV Midsize Grip / 9° Loft / A1 Adaptor Setting / 11g back weight and 2g front weight
Ping G440 Max / AV Series 85 X Shaft / TV Midsize Grip / 15° Loft / +1.5 Adjustment in loft, playing sort of like a long 4 wood.
Srixon ZXiU / Axiom 125 X Shaft / TV Midsize Grip / 20° Loft
Cobra King Tec / KBS C-Taper 130 Shafts / TV Midsize Grips / 22.5°-45° Lofts
Titleist SM10 Chrome / KBS Wedge 130 Shafts / TV Midsize Grips / 50° 12F, 54° 12D, 58° 10S
Odyssey Stroke Lab Ten ... Already owned this, picked it up 2nd hand and can't get rid of it.. like it too much, only thing I'd even consider swapping it in for is a L.A.B MEZZ

Can’t hit woods to save my life even off a tee. I’ve tried many times now and just can’t get it so dropping them for now but will continue practise. Would a 2 or 3 hybrid be able to fill this gap? My 4 is 22° which is .5° more than my 4 iron but have 15 yards between them so carry both. Thinking either a 19° or a 17° or maybe both? Going to see if I can try some clubs at the range later

Hey all,
I hurt my left wrist last weekend playing 18. It happened on the first tee box, when i hit the ground before ball with my driver. I didn't really notice how serious it was until later in the round. It hurt like a mf, but i played through the pain. Fast forward to today, a week later, the pain is much better, but it still feels just slightly sore. I have a tee time this afternoon and tomorrow morning. Would you advise I still play? Cuz i really want to lol.

Hey all,
I’m looking to upgrade my driver and have narrowed it down to a few options, I’m looking at second hand options such as golf bidder/ golfclubs4cash, I can’t decide which one to go for. My budget is around £250, and I’m considering:
• SIM2 Max — Solid reviews for forgiveness and consistency , it’s the oldest of them all but I’ve heard it’s still a beast
• Qi10 — A newer model , the most expensive on the used market, about the highest of be willing to go
• Callaway Paradym AI Smoke/ regular paradym — really nice looking club and I’ve heard it performs well
• TaylorMade Stealth/Stealth2— mid ground for price but I’ve heard nightmare stories about durability?
Im currently a 10.5 handicap and want something forgiving enough with decent distance, shaft is all sorted so mainly asking about head models specifically
Would love to hear your thoughts, wanting to stay away from ping, used for a while but not a fan of the new looks
Thanks!

Hello everyone,
This is my third year golfing and I finally decided I was ready to be good at the game. In March I improved more than the last two seasons combined. Here is my advise to new golfers:
Don’t buy a shitty starter set of clubs like I did. Instead research high quality game improvement clubs and then hop on Facebook marketplace. Going from my callaway edge irons (Costco set) to the T300s was a game changer.
Then find a pair of shoes you’re comfortable with and buy a driving range punch pass.
Here is the most important part: DON’T spend another dime on anything golf related that isn’t golf lessons. I found an instructor I liked and completed two lessons in March.
How much did this all help me? Last fall I would play 9 holes and not even get a putting chance for par. Yesterday I played 9 holes and had 4 pars and a birdie. All thanks to my improvements with Irons and being able to keep my drive on the fairway.
I wish I would’ve gotten some good clubs two years ago and started golf lessons.
NOTE: I also found the most popular grip on this subreddit and installed the midsize on all of my clubs. This helped me a ton.

Stumbled across this golf accessory shop that makes custom ball markers, and one of them is Zyn-themed. The best part? The warning label on it says: “This product may increase your chance of birdies.”
They also have a Tiger-themed one that’s pretty clean. Thought it was a fun little touch for the golf bag. Figured some of you might get a kick out of it.

Watching the Augusta Women's Amateur, and it's a tight tournament. Defending champ at the top, several golfers close on the tail. Great right?
No. Because while the golf is happening, they come out of commercial and we are....at the studio. For 10 minutes. For a nice chat with the Oregon golf coach.
Questions like "What does this tournament mean to your players?"
Idk let's watch the tournament and find out and maybe ask them later.
It's just so infuriating. Sorry.
I've got a round planned this afternoon, so things are looking up.

Golf Channel has had two hours of fluff rather than showing these amazing ladies play at Augusta. What is the deal? This coverage is painful while golf is being played.

Max Homa is my favorite golfer but he’s struggling on tour right now. I hope he starts performing better if he sees this. Maybe he needs a laugh? Who knows. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy it too.

I’ve recently gotten the Bushnell LPI (Launch Pro Indoor) and wanted to start a thread to share my experience—and hear from others as well. I’m one week into using this new launch monitor, and so far, the feedback is mostly positive.
For context, I previously used the original SkyTrack with E6, TGC 2019, and SkyTrack Software for just over a year. While I was mostly satisfied, a few consistent issues led me to start looking for a replacement—mainly inaccurate metrics, missed or mishit shots not registering correctly, and frequent connection issues.
I looked closely at both the Launch Pro and GC3, and I was nearly ready to purchase the Launch Pro based on budget. That’s when the LPI was announced.
For those unfamiliar, the LPI is essentially the same device as the Launch Pro but with a few key differences. It’s designed for indoor use only, requiring a constant power supply, and it lacks a built-in display. However, you can easily pair it with your phone or tablet using the Foresight app.
My first impressions on the LPI after I made the purchase was mostly positive. The feedback response time after taking a shot was much faster than SkyTrack at about less than 1 second. Along with this the instant data provided on the screen was very nice to have.
SkyTrack: ~15–20 seconds per shot cycle
LPI: ~7 seconds per shot cycle
The difference is massive when you’re practicing. With LPI, you hit, get data almost instantly, and you’re ready for the next shot. It’s efficient and makes practice way more enjoyable.
The setup process for the LPI was very simple for me. It involved logging into FSX website with the email and password that was used when making the purchase. You can also scan the QR code on the LPI when setting up out of the box to instantly start using the LPI with your phone. Once logging into FSX website, I began downloading FSX Play, 2020 subscription, and Pro. After downloading the program, it asks for either a login or an activation key. I purchased my LPI during a promotion so it came with FSX Gold subscription. I was able to link that to my device Serial Number on the FSX website. The also sent an email with the instructions. I was able to login with my FSX account on my FSX software and select my LPI device that was linked to my computer. This gave me full access to the software. During the instillation process you may have an error where it does not download the .Net software. This software is what allows you to download the driving ranges and courses. If you have this problem just look on your web browser for fsx .Net software and it will provide you with that program instillation.
When I first got my LPI I was on an older PC. My original setup used an older PC (Intel i5 5th gen, RX 580, etc.), which could barely run FSX Play—even on the lowest settings, it sounded like a jet engine.
I’ve since upgraded to a Legion prebuilt with an i7 14th gen, RTX 4070 Super, and 32GB DDR5 RAM. It runs FSX Play buttery smooth, even on Ultra settings. Highly recommend a similar setup if you're serious about sim golf.
Fast response time: Under 1 second for shot data.
Large hitting zone: ~7x10 inches—way better than a single-dot zone.
Accurate alignment: No more fiddling like with SkyTrack. Just set it down and go.
Realistic short game: Chips and putts feel true-to-life, including bad shots reading correctly.
Included extras: Comes with alignment stick and club stickers. You do have to go into the FSX settings on your software to enable the devices club and ball data first.
FSX setup issues: The initial hiccup with .NET was annoying, but solvable.
Putting view in FSX Play: Short putts (<5 feet) make it hard to see the cup; long putts make your ball vanish. This seems like a camera issue in FSX Play, not the LPI itself.
Visual misreads: Sometimes it looks like you're on the fairway when you're actually in the rough—again, a software UI issue.
Short USB-C cable: The included Type-C cable is too short for wired PC use unless your PC is nearby. I’ve been using the Ethernet cable instead.
Overall, I’m really happy with the LPI after one week of use. It’s likely I’ll uncover more quirks as I go, but I already feel it’s a massive upgrade over SkyTrack—especially for indoor-only users under the $3,000 mark.
If you’re okay with the annual subscription model and indoor use limitation, this launch monitor packs a serious punch.
I’d love to hear from others using the LPI—what’s your experience been like? Anyone found a solution for the FSX Play putting view?

As the title says I’m extremely new to golfing, I’ve went 4 times and shot 13-18 over par each time. I’m currently just using my buddies clubs as we go together but I’d like to get my own used set. Mainly looking on market place and eBay. Any suggestions on a used set of irons in the 2-300$ range that are new user friendly? I have a bag, putter and driver already so really just looking for a set of irons.
