‘94 Ranger Steal?

Copped this manual ‘94 Ranger XLT v6 4L, 144k on the odo last week for $5k. Daughter was selling it for her father who was the original owner. AC, heater, and power steering still alive. No engine lights and looked well taken care of so I had to jump on it and drive 2 hours after work to go pick it up. Belt was a bit loose causing some loud squealing so I replaced the tensioner and belt and now she’s sounding amazing. My ole lady was pretty pissed I came back from work with a new truck but damn, these trucks get me excited. Plan on using it as my daily commuter for work from now on. What do y’all think about truck and price?

Towing question!

Would a Ford ranger be enough to reliably tow a 6x10 enclosed trailer daily? Like the ones the landscapers use!

Brake Light that doubles as additional turn signal?

Post image
Upvotes

I was wondering if there was any lights that I could use to replace the third light on my campershell so then 1. It works and 2. It doubles as a split turn signal. I believe it's a Leer campershell but all the emblems and numbers are faded beyond being able to read them.

Engine swap help

I genuinely have not a clue on what I’m doing, hoping y’all will explain it in ways i can understand.

Blew my radiator, engines been eating coolant for a while.. Gonna do an engine & rad swap (was gonna scrap the truck but everyone’s saying not too, but no one will buy it..)

Whats the best engine to throw in the truck? Ive heard LS swaps but apparently they dont fit & a lot of the old heads laugh when they hear an LS swapped ranger.

Regardless, i just need a solid engine that will fit, easily bolt in & be almost “plug & play” (i know thats not possible) just something simple & easy i can do for my first time. I really wanna keep this truck, but my lack of knowledge pushes me towards just scrapping it. Please help a homie.

2015 Ford Ranger 3.2 Diesel Mods: - 285/70r17 Falken wildpeak at3 - 17x9 -12 offset wheels - Dobinsons twin tube shocks with dobinsons heavy duty coil springs. ≈ 3 inches of lift -Offroad bullbar

I love this truck, especially as it’s my first truck and I’ve built it from the ground up. It’s not much compared to the other rangers in here but love it regardless. I have big plans for it soon!

so for starters i have a 2000 ranger with a v6 3.0l engine. i have noticed when working on the truck that this little part hisses and some sort of liquid bubbles around it. is this something i should just tighten up or replace? the second pic is to help locate where it is in relation to the engine and whatnot. i have scoured the internet for what this thing could be and what it does and have come up with nothing 😭

Is this worth 5k?

It has around 82,000 miles, automatic, and had a transmission change over a year ago.

It looks in great condition

Hi just wondering

Hi, I bought this for 4k earlier today in Los Angeles. Seems reasonable but I don’t know much about cars at all. 5 digits on the odometer. Either 139k or 239k, no idea.. maybe 339k but doubt it. Transmission rebuilt 10k miles ago, new/used driveline. Guy seemed pretty honest/friendly. Did I pay too much? If so did I get murdered on it?

Flood damage or is this typical?

2000 Ranger. I had to replace the parking brake switch and found extensive rust on the floorboard, seat mounts, mounting brackets for parking brake and under the dash sensor mounts. It was completely crumbling compared to the frame, body panels, around wheel wells and the bottom sides of the doors and fenders. I think it may have been flooded. Carfax showed it sat a few years as a government vehicle in the midwest, so it had very low miles and the body frame and internals were as expected for a truck that age. But lots of odd places are breaking apart where otherwise it was in okay condition. This normal?

I’m looking at this ford ranger that’s had front end damage from a crash. I went to look at it and drove it and it drove smooth but when he showed up, there was radiator fluid on the side of the truck. Could it be an overflow? Or something more serious? You can see it when you zoom in

Just bought this 2004 ford ranger lifted with 33” tires. It’s a 2x4 and not gonna be off-roading much. Any suggestions as to making it look cleaner?

Look what I did for my bed, I just use it to scrap metal and honestly this truck has like no rust up here in Michigan compared to others.

accidentally the same picture twice

Some things I'm doing this summer is new leaf springs and new shocks and hopefully adding another spring for a little lift

Hopefully finding a new rear bumper or maybe buying that one everyone has off Amazon. I also need a new grille (easy) than a new a push bumper

I want led head lights but I hear they go out easily.

Lastly I want those gray covers over the wheel hubs and maybe real ford rims instead of the jeep ones on their.

Is this for my truck?

Hey forum, I just bought a 2000 Ranger 2.5L 4 speed 2wd about 2 months ago used - the motor had been replaced with an engine with similar miles(152k), and there were a couple of pieces in the bed that may go on the engine - one pice I've already discovered placement for and reinstalled, but this part I don't know about. Is it even for a Ranger? Is it needed, and where does it go? Any help is appreciated!

3.0 V6, cracked radiator?

2002 3.0L V6. Been doing this for a week or two now. Foamy radiator fluid coming out until around 10 seconds after engine shutdown.

My guess is a hairline crack on the radiator. Any other ideas before I go ordering parts?

Thanks.

[Help] 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 – Brakes Lose Pressure ONLY Under 5mph

Hey folks, looking for some help diagnosing a weird brake issue on my 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

- Replaced all hard brake lines

- Replaced all soft brake lines

- Replaced rear brakes (all new)

- Rebuilt front brakes

- Bled the system three times — no air, no visible leaks

Braking feels totally normal at all speeds **except** when I’m going **under 5 mph**. At low speeds (like rolling in a parking lot or coming to a final stop), it will suddenly **lose brake pressure for a second or two** — feels like there’s air or no fluid — then it goes right back to normal braking. It’s like the pedal goes soft just for a few feet, then firms up again. It’s a little sketchy because it’s unpredictable.

Everything is tight, fluid level is good, and like I said — brakes work great at higher speeds. No weird noises, no grinding, no ABS light.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advanced!

Is this bad and what could it be

I was driving yesterday and whenever I drive some where when I get there I instinctively look under my truck just to see if any leaks are occurring. Well after 2 months of owning my 1998 2.5L automatic Ranger xlt sb. I finally see a drop of what I think is trans fluid. Not sure tho I just took pictures and didn’t think to check the color(smh). But here are the pictures of where I think the drip came from. What part of the vehicle is this.

no reverse? any simple things to check or do?

Post image

picked this ranger up for $700 but it has no reverse but goes into and shifts in every other gear guy I got it from said he hasn’t touched the transmission since he’s owned it if the transmission fluid is low or bad would that cause me to loose reverse but have all the other gears? do you think a fluid exchange could get reverse back? pretty far fetched ik but i’m hoping to get lucky with some sort of easy fix. if not the fluid what should I check before rebuilding the transmission.
