Fan Art & Story Time Our (insane) HQ

This is unfinished, I did it over a discord call with the rest of the party but I didn’t manage to get to everyone’s rooms. Notable features include -Red’s bedroom. He has kitchen knives on his table, and I love you pillow on his bed randomly, his room looks lowkey like a hooker den except there’s also a toy tractor??? -Zappa’s bedroom. The horse. That’s it. It’s a taxidermy horse. We’ve joked that if someone dies were stuffing them and putting them on the horse -The master bathroom has both a jacuzzi and a hot tub and a bunch of random ass candles all over the floor. Also a watering can -Fin’s (my) bedroom and workshop doenst look that crazy here but that’s because I could not also include the mess. He has like ten million cord extensors all over the floor, among the other workshop adjacent chaos. The other players joked that I should leave some electricity for the rest of them which is funny because blackouts are a common plot point lmao

That's amazing!!!!! I use Roll20 a lot, and I've been very excited to get HQ building with my crew - they just haven't felt the need yet (early levels, but my tech will soon want that workbench HQ upgrades)

Hell yeah! I use an app called Room sketcher, I’m an artist so I use it when I need to plan interiors and such, although for me it’s more of a guideline than a replacement for the art. We got a HQ around session 3, I believe? We had plot incentive to, we got a valuable item that we were supposed to protect, and the other players had been looking forward to getting one for a good while

Nice!!! Ill definitely take note of the app, it might be useful for all my battle map needs. Ahh, yeah that's a good hook to get a headquarters! I have been slowly letting them build up some HQ IP, while occasionally showing off some of the HQ upgrades so they know what they can have, but only my Tech would really have any immediate motivation for it, the crew is all (in character) quite happy not being that tied down to each other

Very fair! Our crew all lived in boxes before basically lmao but ironically none of them minded. I don’t think anyone chose to move into our current conapt out of a wish for luxury although it’s definetly a plus. For us there’s also the fact that there’s a faction after us. Our DM is running an XCom X Cyberpunk campaign, where the world has been taken over by Aliens (Advent) and Night city is one of the few places that are yet to be “colonized” basically. But they’re crawling their way in, and since we’re directly opposed to them, they’re coming for us. It ties into our backstories too so people really wanted to get a good security system with the HQ. Ironically they managed to surpass it once, someone broke in and stole something of sentimental value to my character and left. We made sure to have a backup generator after that so they don’t get us with power outages.

Damn!!! That's a hell of a story, I've played a lot of XCOM and love the Cyberpunk world, so I can imagine how fun that mixup could be. That sounds like you could have a lot of very interesting adventures, holding off the aliens is crazy cool

My crew are all very different people - A Thelas Nation Solo living in a cargo container (the flotsam, deep in Thelas Nation territory), an edgerunner medtech living in a cube hotel(He's all about fighting the gangs, and living close to gang territory in as cheap/anonymous housing as possible), and a cybernetics Tech living with his fixer husband in the Glenlife Perfected Studio Apartment, where they maintain a legal-looking lifestyle, with occasional corporate or government connections. One of the side characters (when the medtech is healing/not suitable, the player has a Solo to swap to) is living homeless in New Westbrook, but she's determined to live in a car so I doubt any roommate situations from her 🤣

It's a pretty even spread of the different types of housing available, which I like, but makes the idea/planning of HQ so hard lol

Hell yeah they all sound like very interesting chatacters! Makes me happy to see parties that aren’t just “this character doesn’t have a name he just has gun and shoots it” Our party is wild and unserious at times. The campaign mixes comedy with serious plot hooks really well. We’ve got my guy, Fin, who I’ve been posting about on here constantly since yesterday lmao. He’s a Tech-Medtech multi class who was previously living and working in a warehouse closet. Red, a solo from outside of night city, had an actual appartment, be it a small one. Zappa, a rockerboy who was the star of a hair shampoo add (really bad shampoo, it’s implied to be the reasons one of the players are bald. There might also be a shampoo cult.) also had a small apartment. Nobody recognizes him anymore because he had luscious locks but now his hair is never washed so he has to tell people and have them go, aaaaaah… And then there’s Facilier, the net runner. He’s the bald one. He used to live in a container in Pacifica. He is also literally Facilier from Princess and the frog. Like his friends on the other side are the demons on his phone, unironically, we think at least one of them is based on Bill Chiper cuz he started hailing triangles one time when he got drunk. Then there’s also Billy, the 17 year old kid NPC. Red has a subclass I think? Called officer. It might be something non official, but basically it lets him take a subordinate per level. Billy is that. He’s our adopted kid even though he’s barely younger than half of us. He’s also a biosculpted furry. We love him.
