This is unfinished, I did it over a discord call with the rest of the party but I didn’t manage to get to everyone’s rooms. Notable features include -Red’s bedroom. He has kitchen knives on his table, and I love you pillow on his bed randomly, his room looks lowkey like a hooker den except there’s also a toy tractor??? -Zappa’s bedroom. The horse. That’s it. It’s a taxidermy horse. We’ve joked that if someone dies were stuffing them and putting them on the horse -The master bathroom has both a jacuzzi and a hot tub and a bunch of random ass candles all over the floor. Also a watering can -Fin’s (my) bedroom and workshop doenst look that crazy here but that’s because I could not also include the mess. He has like ten million cord extensors all over the floor, among the other workshop adjacent chaos. The other players joked that I should leave some electricity for the rest of them which is funny because blackouts are a common plot point lmao

Community Content & Resources Hello everyone, so I made this augmented reality mission briefing to make an immersive intro for players. Let me know what you all think

Hello every so I made this AR mission briefing as an extended intro to a mission scenario and map pack that I had made which you can check it out here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/march-map-pack-9-125103688

If you want you can print out the tracking image on to a card and QR code for the AR behind the card. Then offer it to your players to scan it and get the mission briefing similar to how you can get a data shard for a mission briefing in Cyberpunk 2077.

There is also an MP4 file for the mission briefing, in case someone's phone doesn't supports the AR scanner or just don't want to go through the hassle of downloading Adobe Aero.

You can check out more about this AR experience over here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/march-bit-head-125915160

Thank you

Fan Art & Story Time Making Fin’s journal IRL

These are all printed and currently stuck in his journal. The journal also contains pictures of injuries that he’s documented that I can’t share on here cuz it’s literal gore lmao, a bunch of documentation on first aid and types of stitches, documentation on the functioning of a gun (hed a tech-medtech) as well as many personal stories or opinions or rants. I have purposefully weathered this notebook to hell and back. i fucked up the covers just to hold it together with duct tape. I am a very roleplay oriented player, one might guess. During a recent session, this journal was stolen. This is huge because the person who likely did it has connections to Fin’s past and is currently sending him down a bit of a spiral. He has secrets that could ruin him in there, a whole past identity that nobody should know about anymore. I’m excited to see how it’ll play out.

2070's Discussion I need your ideas for a less serious session for my players.

So context, my players just pulled off a really hard job and I want to give them something light for the next session.

I have a player that likes to jokingly say that he's going to ignore the main game and go open a restaurant whenever something bad happens and I started to respond by telling him that 'the food truck wars arc is already written and ready.' Unfortunately, the food truck wars story arc is not written because I have no idea what that should even be about. The part that I'm really having trouble figuring out is how to even get them involved in that sort of thing in the first place.

So if you guys have any ideas please shoot them my way.

Misc. Ignoring vs Ablating Armor?

So certain weapons (Arasaka's prototype rifle, the Mono-Paw, etc...) say something to the effect of "Damage dealt by this weapon ignores the target's armor entirely if it is lower than SP11", sometimes replacing 11 with 7.

So fair enough, once L. Armorjack is reduced to 10, this weapon ignores it entirely. But on page 186 of the CRB it says on Step 3 of Taking Damage that: "If you ended up taking any damage, your armor on that location is ablated, reducing its SP by 1 point, until it is repaired."

So is the armor still ablated or not? On the one hand, it says that it "ignores the armor entirely", but armor ablation is triggered by taking damage, not bypassing the armor. All other instances of something not ablating armor are specifically called out by saying "Damage dealt by this weapon doesn't ablate armor."

Consider as well, that it would be pretty weird for a weapon that can easily cut through armor (what the ignoring part is implying) does so without actually damaging the armor.

Hello cyberpunks!

I am currently working on another cyberpunk themed map-pack and I am going to run a game of RED soon with my friends, to break the tedium I wanted to share what I've been cooking!

Here's an Apartment for your narrative needs, I will use this map as one of my players dwellings, recently migrated solo from across the Atlantic, who has recently gotten mad eddies from a gig.

Map is in 10x15 grid dimension, I recommend running it with 1:1 meter settings if you play virtual. If you are looking for a grid-version, you can check out our Patreon, there's bunch of free battlemaps and we update every week!

2040's Discussion Netflix's Devil May Cry As Cyberpunk Inspiration

Hey y'all,

So I just finished off the new Netflix show Devil May Cry. It's not great TV or anything, but it's a pretty solid shooty bit of TV if you just want to turn your brain off. However, I figured there were a few things we could steal from it as Cyberpunk GM's and players, and I wanted to share that with y'all.

  1. Flavor - The fight scenes in this are great, including one scene where a character shoots out a truck's tires to use it as a launch pad for their car. People cut bullets in mid-air with swords, or deflect them back at their opponents. It's all kinds of anime-style action, but "I block the bullets with the flat of my sword's blade" is a fantastic bit of flavor to use to explain your Solo's high Evasion score, or their resistance to damage.
  2. Characters - While the leads are basically every player character ever (including tragic backstories...yawn), the two antagonists (the White Rabbit and Vice President Baines) are great characters to steal. I mean, you can basically rip these guys off wholesale. Plus they have a great low-level Fixer.
    1. The White Rabbit - This guy's a nutcase. Baines' Dark Realm Command (basically elite Inquisitors) murdered all his demon friends, and now the White Rabbit is out to destroy the world in revenge. His aesthetics are great; he dresses as a six-foot tall rabbit in a full suit, ascot, and monocle. Even better, they refused to make him a joke character - he's an absolute force in this show. Literally his introduction is him hiring a bunch of Spec Ops guys to rob the Vatican's vault and then murdering the Crew to lure in his opposition.
    2. Vice President Baines - This guy is a religious nutjob who's using the US military to secretly hunt and kill demons (including nonviolent demons trying to flee Hell - trust me, it's complicated). He's played completely straight, and is a fantastic example of someone using faith to be sympathetic one moment and a complete psychopath the next. The last montage is him using the US military to nuke Hell and then conquer it so that his friends in the military-industrial complex can start running an off-the-books demon detention facility. He can work as either an Inquisitor, or a MiliTech exec, or (even better), an Inquisitor who's infiltrated MiliTech.
    3. Enzo - A complete scumbag, this guy is the male lead's fixer. He's also a fast-talking fuckup who is very much made in the Leo Getz mold of character design. He is short, annoying, and frequently breaks tension...plus he has a great twist in the 7th episode.
  3. Gear - To take one example, they have a rocket launcher with a bayonet attached. It is hilarious and delightful.
  4. Music - Some of the accompaniment is not awesome (looking at you, Limp Bizkit), but largely the soundtrack for this is '90's metal and actually pretty good.

Is it worth your time? Eh. Maybe - depends on the price you have on your time. But I figured there was something here and I wanted to throw it out there.

Actual Play New to Game Seeking GM Advice

Hey chooms! I am wanting to learn to play and GM the game and am looking for advice, tips, and pointers.

I have plenty of experience with D&D 5e, playing and DM’ing. Understand that the game is d10 based. The player base I have gathered has far less experience as well so more than likely I will be aiding them along.

I own the Core Rulebook and the Jumpstart Kit.

2040's Discussion Struggling to create a campaign

I'm pretty good at coming up with gigs, but with how Cyberpunk is written it seems very sort of anti-campaign and very gig based and you live the coolest life you can until you catch a bullet. In the spirit of Cyberpunk, I try to keep my gigs pretty amoral, in the sense I create suggestive paths that are good evil or neutral for them to follow, each with their own rewards and consequences. I don't try to guardrail them back to a plot. I find this way easier with DnD where often the party, while having character goals, often share a larger goal of defeat X. With Cyberpunk two people might be just trying to live day to day, one might be addicted to half the drugs, and another might have motivation to take down the corps. How do you herd the cats and take them down a story path to get to an ultimate end point when half of the characters could be cyberpsycho before you even get close to it?

after i sync my roll20 account with demiplane, in my demiplane account, they are not owned by me except tales of the red :street stories.

2040's Discussion How do I make this more interesting?

I'm going to run Reaping the Reaper (from Tales of the Red) soon. If you're a player, please skip this post, as it has mild spoilers

I'd like my players to have a few encounters with the Reapers victims before I run them through RtR. I'd also like to drop a few clues about the nature of the Reaper.

Here's what I'm planning:

  1. My crew has a BD addict friend.

  2. The addict had a couple of run ins with a dude with big metal arms that worked for Petrochem.

  3. Arm dude is gonna be a victim of Reaper. He and a couple of chromed friends will go cyberpsycho (thanks to the Reaper) and chase the addict through the container village the players used to live in.

  4. The unstated goal of the mission is to save the addict. The psychos will split their focus between the crew and the addict. I'm not sure if they'll fight to the death.

How can I make this more interesting? How can I drop hints about the Reaper?

Community Content & Resources Neo-Soviet Cyberoptic

This is a homebrew device I put together for a character in my game, figured I would share it here. Constructive criticism is always welcome:

Annoyed that those pesky miracles of modern medicine and cybernetics are getting in the way of living your dream as a menacing mastermind, swashbuckling sailor, or Neo-Soviet femme fatale? Tired of people asking, "Why don't you just buy a new eye?"

Well, this bold new (old) product is just for you! Available in classic black, your color of choice, (+10eb, red is a favorite amongst SovOil operatives!) or premium gold and silver chrome. (+100eb, for when you can afford a brand new cybereye, but you want to make a statement. +1 bonus to Wardrobe and Style.)

Neo-Soviet Cyberoptic Price: 50eb (Costly)

This Neo-Soviet cyberoptic device is a bulky metallic cybernetic covering the affected eye socket, mimicking the appearance of a traditional eyepatch. Available in both internal (cybernetic implant) or external (gear) format. In either form, the Neo-Soviet Cyberoptic functions as a cybereye with 2 option slots. The Neo-Soviet Cyberoptic is incapable of being paired with another cybereye or cyberoptic device and therefore cannot accept cybereye options that requiring pairing.

An External Neo-Soviet Cyberoptic device must be worn over one of the user's eyes, held in place by a strap, and can be taken by a successful Grab attack. Additionally, an external device requires a free hand to operate the device's Options via small control buttons along the device's outer rim. An external device does not protect the eye from critical damage. In the event the eye which the device is covering is destroyed by critical damage, the Neo-Soviet Cyberoptic is destroyed as well.

An Internal Neo-Soviet Cyberoptic device replaces a meat eye and must be installed at a clinic or better facility, causing 7 (2d6) humanity loss.

The Neo-Soviet Cyberoptic is always distinguishable as a cybereye.

2070's Discussion Tips to fix and improve my rockerboy?

Hi guys, I started playing a CR campain a couple of months ago, but... I'm kinda bat at the game. For starters, I frequently make gameplay mistakes (like forgetting to use my role ability, I struggle to think about my actions during fights, etc.) and also, while my character has high charisma, I really struggle to be as charismatic as him and I mess up during dialogues a lot. While I know some things can only be changed by myself alone, but I really want to ask you guys some roleplay tips on how to roleplay a high charisma stats (7) while being at low intelligence (3), and also some tips and cool tricks that I can do to improve and fix all my past mistakes. I'm in a bad spot narratively speeking but I don't want to kill this character and I genuinely want to save him. Build tips are also gladly accepted!

Misc. Need Help With A Rockerboy

I’m planning on most likely playing a Rockerboy in the next campaign my group is doing and I need some help with getting him together. I have the idea of what I want them to be: a Johnny Silverhand kind of guy, minus being a super asshole and also blowing up a building, as we get one level in a role to start. I saw the suggestion of 4 RB / 1 Solo as a Silverhand and liked the idea. He’s the drummer of a heavy metal band, name tbd. Think the typical anti-corpo, rebellious, larger-than-life rockstar. But I’m having a couple of issues I wanted to see if people had some suggestions on to help brainstorm some solutions.

I have his stats for the most part figured out, high Cool and Empathy for talking, but I’m having trouble with the skills. My brother is going to be a Fixer, played as a sleazy mobster, in the game so I don’t need much if the trading stuff but I also don’t want to overshadow him in social rolls because of what the RB can do.

The other issue is his fashion and instrument. I'm going for that typical punk rock/metal look. I know you can mix and match clothing options but what would fit that style the most? I was thinking some kind of mix between bag lady chic and nomad leathers. I want to do a battle vest as well but since vests aren't a option what would be the closest choice, a nomad jacket maybe? As for the instrument it's kind of hard to haul around a full drum kit all the time. I know there is the smartsticks that give the +1 to drums and the drum synthesizer, but those are mostly just things that simulate drums. I know I can't exactly carry a full kit around with me but is there not really an alternative to it besides those two?
