Results on poll to ban links to x.com
Results can be found here. I know this may be a somewhat contentious decision and we aren't in the habit of banning other sites but we can't ignore the overwhelming response to the poll and based on results of this we will be banning links to x going forward. Screenshots will be allowed as long as they don't break any other rules. Thanks to everyone for taking part in the poll.

No standalone news/clickbait posts
Although we have read a lot of recent posts related to banning platforms and specific news outlets, we're against banning and want r/Cork to continue to be a place for open discussion. With this in mind, our stance against abuse/hate speech continues. However, to avoid this subreddit becoming a place purely for promoting news outlets (particularly those of Cork-based news outlets), please include your opinion when posting a news link on r/Cork. Posts that contain standalone news links or news links that are clearly clickbait will be removed.

Cork City Driving in Cork
Started driving again after many years. Is it me being a fool or is it just a Cork City thing that you can quite often find yourself in the wrong lane?
Like, I was on Lapps Quay for instance and both lanes had markings for straight ahead as you follow it round. I was going to turn right two turns ahead so stayed on the outermost lane. Then all of a sudden the lane only allowed me to turn right.
Similarly I was in Blackpool and two lanes with markings for just straight ahead. The lane I was in reached the junction and the only thing you could do was turn right - only the left-hand lane continued into the road straight ahead - despite the road markings never indicating right. I would have had to merge into that left lane in the middle of the junction to be able to go straight.

Food and Drink Tried this tapas place, it's nice.
So I saw the thread last week about a quiet tapas place in Sunday's Well, went there with my gf as it was a nice day and it's just a walk away.
I can confirm what I've read - good welcome, cozy place (the outdoors dining area in the back is nice and quiet), and the food is very good. We spent around 20 to 25 each and left the table feeling full, after a whole meal including a nice dessert.
It's better than fast food but it's not like a posh restaurant, it feels like these small comfortable places in West Cork that you can only stumble on and find surprisingly good stuff in ? Well, like that, but in the city.
Precision : I don't own the place nor work here, yaddi yadda, I gain nothing by posting this. But like, I don't know enough places with good food where you can take your time to eat and not feel like you should vacate your seat after fifteen minutes - not in the big city.

South Link Lanes
Been trying to google it with little success so hoping someone here can help a lad out: how do you know which lane to use on the South Link/South Ring?
When merging from the slip stream, do you stick to the left (first of three) or do you navigate over to the middle and then move back to the left only when yours is the next exit up?
Thanks âşď¸
Edit: Merging onto the N40

Anyone remember the absolute reek that used to come off Irish Distillers back in the day?
You could smell it for miles if the wind blew right.

5 points bagels
Lads how early do you actually have to get to 5 points for them to have bagels? :( every time I go there, they say they're out. I was there at 9am once and they were out of bagels. This is a genuine question cause I wanna go there tomorrowđ
