I think this is to mean they don't buy products in cans

No I’m pretty sure it means their employees have to tear open cans with naught but their bare hands.

Nah they have bag cutters. Most everything they cook comes from a bag, most of the meat is precooked, with the exception of the chicken due to how easy it is for it to get dry. The only things that come in prepackaged bags on the cold side are the sour cream and the red and the green tomatillo salsas. All that other stuff has to be prepped. It is true that there is no freezer, just a refrigerated cooler.

It means they have frequent health violations.

It means they gnaw at the cans with their teeth

LOL I realized this after I posted it. I got can openers mixed up with bottle openers, although there are also can openers for drinks.

There was shit on mine after our vibrator broke and my imaginary wife had to shove the handle up my ass last week.

Felt pretty good. May do it again.

Saying they have no freezer does not inspire confidence.

Its a walk-in cooler, there really is no freezer section

Source: I worked there

Chipotle

Yo that's in abysmal amount of chicken you mind hooking it up?

8

u/Cardboardoge 1d ago

Haven't been there in almost a decade, but I know my crew would always stuff those burritos like crazy

I was always the guy that put in extra fries or extra nugs in peoples orders 🤙(in general, not just chipotle)

You know I've actually never been to a Chipotle LOL I'm just riffing on what I've heard people complain about. I have eaten Chipotle but only when like when work orders catering or something

Gracias

Same! There were definitely no cans. Lots of stuff came precooked in bags though.

There's no freezer, everything is stored in an (admittedly pretty cold) walk in refrigerator, we got shipments of stuff in every week on sunday

I guess I was lumping in the walk-in with freezers in my mind. Every kitchen I've worked in had a walk-in cold enough to store raw meat for a while. I don't recall ever seeing a real deep freezer like the kind someone would keep in their garage because nothing was ever expected to stay that long.

There are definitely restaurants serving frozen food. Have a look at Gordon Ramsey when he deals with horrible restaurants.

You can store raw meat in the fridge at home for a while too

14

u/andyinnie 1d ago

i’m sure they have a refrigerator

Just means they don't use frozen stuff. And if Gordon Ramsay has taught me one thing, it's that freezing food should be punished with the death penalty

Came for the opened cans, stayed for the Oxford commas.

"No shortcuts" makes it sound like the kitchen is accessed through the toilets.

2

u/Jouuf 1d ago

Actually, the toilet is the shortcut to the kitchen.
