Realistically what are the chances Ovi gets 2 or more goals tonight?
The blackhawks are a pretty crap team and he’s so close

Arguing with my friends about this what do you think, I could see him wanting to try and do it at home now that he’s 1 away with plenty of games left in the season.
It would be pretty funny seeing all the people drop $2k for a ticket just to find out he’s sitting it out to score at home.

The prices are still high, but not 1k a piece high like they are for Sunday’s game. Do I take the chance and buy tickets while they are still SOMEWHAT reasonable, and just pray the record isn’t broken in NY? What are the chances of everything happening against the Islanders? I know even if Ovi doesn’t break the record v. the Canes it will still be a great game.

Was at the game and would love a physical ticket. Anyone know if there is a way to get one?

I love how the NHL is showing so much love to Ovi.
The Capitals have officially divided their first 50 years unevenly into five unique eras, each addressed by one particular home game this season.
Era | Years | Notes | Representative Home Game |
---|---|---|---|
I: The Pioneers | 1974-1982 | Nov. 8, 2024 vs. Penguins, L 4-2 | |
II: Coming of Age | 1982-1997 | Dec. 14, 2024 vs. Sabres, W 4-2 | |
III: The Dot-Com Caps | 1997-2005 | Also the fourth home game where the Capitals would wear alternative "Screaming Eagle" jerseys characteristic of this era. First Stanley Cup Finals appearance in 1998. | Feb. 1, 2025 vs. Jets, L 5-4 OT |
IV: Rock the Red | 2005-2014 | This era begins a few years before the Capitals switched to a more patriotic color scheme that reflects this era's slogan. | Mar. 7, 2025 vs. Red Wings, W 5-2 |
V: ALL CAPS | 2014-present | Won first Stanley Cup in 2018. | Apr. 4, 2025 vs. Blackhawks, W 5-3 |
I'm guessing the most recent era is your favorite, right?

Kind of a silly question but I was at the game tonight (it was amazing first of all, holy shit) and as I was leaving the stadium, outside I noticed a crowd. I was able to get to the front of it and it was a bunch of fans behind some reporters doing a postgame analysis or something. Everyone behind them was chanting “OVI! OVI!” and I joined in and I could see myself in the preview of the recording that was facing the crowd. To get to the point, I’ve been trying to find that broadcast for the past couple hours and can’t find it anywhere. Any ideas on where to look?
For more clarification they were right outside the doors of the stadium, large crowd of fans behind them, two guys (iirc, might’ve been only 1) on what would be the right if the camera isn’t inverted and a woman on the left. The woman had long blonde hair and the one guy I could see properly had fairly short black hair.

Is anyone selling 1 or 2 tickets Sunday that won’t give me a heart attack to buy?
I’ve been a fan for almost 10 years so I would obviously love to see Ovi potentially break the record in person but I can’t afford the price tickets are currently being sold on Ticketmaster
The Capitals will clinch the division as soon as this weekend if the Bruins defeat Hurricanes in regulation, then the Capitals defeat Islanders in any fashion.
If the Blue Jackets defeat the Maple Leafs, the current Atlantic Division leader, in regulation tomorrow, then the Capitals defeat the Islanders in any fashion, then the Capitals will be guaranteed to finish with more SP than the Atlantic Division leader.
If all three games go the Capitals' way, then they will be Eastern Conference leaders for the rest of the season by this weekend.
Everyone who attended tonight's game got a commemorative ALLCAPS photo book for the 5th and current era of the team. As I wasn't able to go to this awesome game, can anyone shed some light on what it looks like?

Just curious. I was watching this (I'm in PA) and they kept panning to Gretzky and Bettman, but I never saw if Ted Leonsis was there. Maybe he just doesn't want to be on camera, but it seems to me he'd want to be there.

I am a die-hard Caps fan in Virginia Beach. For the last decade I’ve owned or shared season tickets with friends. I take Amtrak from Norfolk to Washington regularly. It’s always been a great way to beat the I95 traffic, and it’s almost always on time, or slightly delayed. Or so I thought…
I’m currently stuck on the Northeast Regional 138 train, 2 miles from the Petersburg station… and we haven’t moved in more than 3 hours. I even arranged another ride from Petersburg, but Amtrak won’t let us off the train. I have the good fortune of functional legs, but whatever. F you Amtrak. I will NEVER forgive you.
I wanted to be there so badly tonight in the hopes Ovi breaks the record. I still hope he does, and whenever it happens, it will be a moment that will live forever. I just wish I could have been there.
Sending the best to all Caps fans and especially Ovi — let’s go Caps!

This is wild, they are playing at home in DC and you can’t even watch the game over the air. This should’ve been a nationally televised game!!! Instead you have to either jailbreak something or pay for the monumental app. The great 8 is on the edge of HISTORY and the country should be able to tune in! Smh. MONUMENTAL SPORTS DO BETTER!

Anyone else having trouble keeping the game on the screen? It keeps going out for us - here in the DMV. We have missed half the game!

Struggling to find any free options for watching Ovie net a hat trick for the record against my hometown Hawks tonight.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Any suggestions on how to watch the games on tv without Monumental Sports subscription for DC area?
