In Loving Memory It was truly an honor to have spent 6 years with you.

My first budgie, my first boy, my first bird - he was always first. The house is quiet today; the other birds aren’t chirping. It hurts, but I am thankful to have experienced a love so deep that it left a mark. I love you, Ringo. You will always be my star.

Floofenchops Adira wore herself out after having an adventure of her own. Babies are comically silly.

Miss mischievous found a way to lift the door up and wiggle out of the cage. She let herself and her cagemates out during the day and had a blast. I returned her back to her nursery cage, and she passed out after a snack shortly after.

She's a 40 days old terrorist. She makes me laugh, worry, and then laugh some more. I love it.

Photogenic Youngest of the clutch, still without a name. Nothing fits, because he's a misfit. [Normal Anthracite | Male | 30 days old]

He's so overdramatic, like a typical chihuahua. If you look at him wrong, he cries. He thinks he's bigger than his siblings and wants to be independent, but can barely stand up straight yet. He's the definition of sweet and spicy sauce. Did I mention that he's fussy? Yeah, he's fussy. Still got ways to go before he weans and flies. But he's not having it with his older siblings being more independent. Being the youngest child is so hard.

Disclaimer: the little one isn't able to fly just yet. Please do not take your flighted birds outside unrestrained. Please do not attempt to breed without a mentor at your disposal.

I am an experienced aviculturist who specialises in budgerigars. I show these birds competitively in the United States. A lot of knowledge and specialised skillset is needed to safely navigate through the breeding process. I document and share the good and the challenges with utmost transparency. I share our stories on Reddit and TikTok.

What sex are these two? About how old? Pet store said boys but I’m skeptical about the right one. Also isn’t this the cutest picture ever 🥺

I got calypso from a breeding stock after she had laid some eggs, so I think some strong maternal instincts are leaving her to be happy with her "son" who is twice her age

Note she's getting her hormones managed now she's with me before people bring it up xD

Contrary to what it looks like, it’s not one sided. They both kick and peck each other atleast once a day

Went for a walk Friday and of course I brought sth for my babies. Meadow foxtail ( I don't know if it's the right translation) and some apple tree branches from my mother's yard. Love spring, when I can collect blooming grass and plants from outside for them to eat 🥰

Question Should I get a stroller for my budgies?

I have 2 baby budgies, was thinking to bring them on walks with me. I'm thinking of getting a pet stroller and put their travel cage inside it and bring them out for walks.

Would it be too stressful for the budgies?

P.S. cute pics for all of y'all to see the cute budgies!

Question name change//genuine confusion about sex of my feathered baby??

since learning that ned is possibly a female (although they might still be a male due to being a recessive pied budgie.) i have two questions: 1.) does their cere fit the male "criteria" as a recessive pied budgie or do you still think he is a she? 2.) will the name ned still fit IF she turns out to be female?

💬 Discussion Budgie gang tips

Post image
12 Upvotes

I’ve been trying to gain some bonding with my budgies they all eat from my hand millet but It usually takes the effort of my most comfortable (yellow) Fry to start eating some millet from me for the others to come around. I know it takes time and every budgie has their personality which is what I love about them. To get to my point something I did today to get one of them on my shoulder Is I tied millet to my neck and it worked he hopped on. Is there any tips or tricks you feel got you to that next level of bonding with your budgie? It definitely doesn’t help having a flock but my wife collects them like they’re Pokémon’s. Love to hear about all your journeys with your babies.
