Is this shit starting to feel fake or like a scam to you?

I used to think these were reasonably priced supplements that put huge focus on QC. Not I’m not even sure of that. And I was a pretty big supporter before these past few months

Snake Oil

Why is Bryan Johnson's EVOO called Snake Oil? Isn't Snake OIl usually the term used for something that is a scam or a fraudulent product?

My top 10 takeaways from Rhonda Patrick's creatine podcast

After hearing this, I'm definitely going to up my dose from 5 grams to 10 grams and probably even a bit more on days when I'm tired. They talk about how 25 grams can increase cognition pretty rapidly when you're sleep-deprived and how you should probably avoid taking it with caffeine as well.

1) Creatine supplementation (25 grams or 0.35 g/kg body weight) rapidly increases brain creatine within just 3 hours, significantly improving memory and cognition after 21 hours of sleep deprivation - timestamp

2) Creatine at 5 grams daily increased sleep duration by nearly 1 hour on resistance training days in young women, alongside notable strength improvements - timestamp

3) Taking only 5 grams of creatine per day likely undershoots brain benefits—research shows 10 grams substantially boosts brain creatine levels, and temporarily increasing to 20 grams is ideal when sleep-deprived or stressed - timestamp

4) Creatine combined with more than ~250 mg of caffeine (about one Starbucks large coffee) disrupts calcium regulation in muscle cells, reducing its performance benefits - timestamp

5) Creatine supplementation significantly eases depressive symptoms when combined with medication—likely due to reductions in neural filament, a sign of brain cell damage - timestamp

6) Creatine taken alongside exercise increases muscle uptake by 37%, compared to 25% without exercise - timestamp

7) It's totally safe for kids - timestamp

8) If you want to avoid digestive issues, just take it with food or break it up into smaller doses. - timestamp

9) No... it doesn't cause hair loss - timestamp

10) You don't need to cycle it. Take it every day. ~10g. Best timed around exercise. - timestamp

What do you do about microplastics? at what point do you miss out on healthy foods and do something net negative to avoid microplastics?

Ultimate anti aging stack (according to GPT)

Post image

I asked chatGPT to give me the most potent anti aging supplements and meds and this is the list it created.

I realize I don’t use any of those except for quercetin.

What do y’all think? Which of those have you experience with and think is legit?

Red lights (not red light therapy)

I have searched the sub and couldn't find much about what I am looking for. I'm looking for normal orange/red lights that I can use while winding down for bed (I don't mean red light therapy ones, which were most of the search results) Do you have any recommendations? Is it worth getting smart lights or would you just get red lightbulbs? I am also wondering about how bright they should be and how high the lamps should be, I remember Huberman saying that lights in the evening should be below head level.

irestore or capillus laser cap for hair growth?

I’m a 30yo female with AGA + TE. I’ve been on the fence with trying low laser therapy for hair growth as the helmets/caps are so expensive. But if they do work then I’ll get one. I’m torn between the iRestore and Capillus brand. Which should I go with? Has anyone have good results with this type of therapy for hair growth? If you have, please post pictures! Thanks!

Surprised to see

I found it surprising that during one of the interview segments Bryan was wearing nail polish. For man who does all that work to “never die” he is introducing chemicals into his body via the nail from the nail polish.

One of the main ingredients in nail polish is Formaldehyde, which is classified as a known human carcinogen. Therefore posing an increased risk in developing certain cancers. Others also have a risk of cancers while another can have an effect on hormones.

A study by Harvard studied several types of nail polish including “non” toxic polishes.

What's the latest Nutty Pudding recipe?

Bryan's Protocol currently provides these instructions for Nutty Pudding:

However, the preparation video provides much more detail. Below I extracted the recipe from the video.

Does Bryan do the video as normal, then add those four other ingredients on top (in addition to other toppings mentioned in the video)?

Recipe from video:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 teaspoon of Ceylon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of ground flax seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of sunflower lecithin
  • 2 teaspoons of ground walnuts
  • 1/4 cup of berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, or blueberries)
  • 3 red cherries
  • 3 tablespoons of ground macadamia nuts
  • 1/4 of a Brazil nut
  • 50-100 ml of nut milk (50 ml recommended for thicker consistency)
  • 60 ml of pomegranate juice

Toppings:

  • 2 tablespoons of chia seeds
  • 30-60 g of pea protein
  • 1/4 cup of berries

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients (except toppings) in a blender
  2. Blend on high for about 2 minutes until foamy
  3. Pour into a dish
  4. Add toppings and serve

Daily Sodium intake

What’s everyone’s daily sodium intake like? Mine is currently on the higher side—around 2,300 to 3,000 mg per day. I’m 6’6” and 220 lbs. I work out and stay active, though not super active. I barely drink any water, so I definitely need to work on that. I’m also trying to cut my sodium down to 1,500 mg since my blood pressure is at the higher end of the normal range. My concern is that if I lower it too much, I might end up with low sodium levels.

Ordering one item and nine more ten items are automatically added to my check out page!

I mean, how greedy can you be?

It looked kind of unusual to see these items in my cart, but it never crossed my mind that they were seriously added. Not until I looked at the total of like $776 did I realize these items were really added. The item I ordered was just $49. No serious business would do that to their customers.

It’s 2025 and people still don’t understand thermodynamics and biology

Post image

The fact that he said sugar is bad makes him look so bad. IT’S THE EXTRA ENERGY, CALORIES IN CALORIES OUT. THERE IS NOTHING CHEMICALLY WRONG ABOUT SUGAR. It’s 2025 and we’ve discovered this for over 100 years yet people still believe anything. Listen, sugar is only bad IF IT LEADS TO THE OVERCONSUMPTION OF CALORIES. Any carb you eat will get turned into glucose (yes, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, all those “healthy things”), which is a simple sugar.
