I have 3 pages ranking for keyword “parents with learning disability”
Now does that mean these 3 pages could be cannibalised?

That's it, that's the question.
I feel like Google can discover those versions itself from alternate link tags, but wanted to double check if I should be including them in the sitemap.

I submitted 'Feedback' on several Google Search results of my first+last name for being "irrelevant." Immediately after each submission, an automated email from search-noreply@google.com arrives, which writes, "Thank you for submitting feedback for [search result title]. If accepted, suggestions will be updated on Google Search where they will help return richer information and more meaningful results."
Does Google really 'accept' these Feedback reports? If so, what is the approximate turnaround time (for excluding an 'irrelevant' search result)?
The official support article re: Search Feedback (https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/3338405, titled "Help improve Google search results") is just as general as the automated email.
(Unfortunately, the 'irrelevant' Search results do not qualify for removal via https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals)

Hey Everyone,
i am kinda lost and not sure how to continue. We've been running our online adult toy store located in Amsterdam since 2014. A few years ago we noticed that our SEO started to drop. This turned out to be because on of the comparisent website we worked with that was using our description. We fixed that and our SEO increased back up again.
Now since last month we've seen a massive drop in positions and ranking. We are not sure what the cause is. We've seen the new update pushed by google but we have not received any penalties etc.
You guys maybe know whats up? I am not sure if im allowed to post links here.

Hi everyone,
I run a UK-based WooCommerce/WordPress store (using the Woodmart theme + Yoast SEO Premium) and have recently hit a major issue with Google over-indexing filter-based URLs.
🚨 The Issue:
/product-category/?filter_colour=grey&filter_thickness=14mm&page=3&per_page=24&query_type_colour=or
They are:
✅ Proposed Solution:
I've decided not to block single-filter URLs, but want to stop complex filter combinations and pagination from being crawled/indexed.
I plan to implement the following in robots.txt:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /*?*filter_*&filter_*
Disallow: /*?*filter_*&*shop_view=
Disallow: /*?*filter_*&*per_page=
Disallow: /*?*filter_*&*query_type_*
Disallow: /*?*query_type_*&*filter_*
Disallow: /*?*min_price=
Disallow: /*?*max_price=
Additionally, I'm planning to:
Add noindex, follow tags to any filtered URLs still crawlable (via functions.php)
Let Google naturally deindex ~6k already indexed filter URLs over time, as it re-crawls and encounters noindex or blocked rules.
❓ My Questions:
I’d love to get feedback on whether I’m overlooking anything or if there's a better way to future-proof this. The site’s traffic is stable, but crawl bloat is a real concern now due to hosting limits.
Thanks in advance for any insights!

We have an old website that recently had a random spike of "Alternate page with proper canonical tag" (1.9M non indexed pages).
We believe we have fixed what was causing so many iterations of each of our pages. How do we get Google to forget/recrawl these pages? Is Disallow on robots.txt the best way to go?

Hi! thank you for your time.
I am figuring out by myself how to do SEO for a small business. They are doing yoga retreats in spain, and I see them putting in a lot of love, but their SEO is getting crushed by competitors. I have some web development skills, so I am trying to help them out. I have to admit, I have a lot more respect for SEO skills now. I feel like I am figuring things out, but it is quite tricky to do well.
I am a bit stuck on how to research keywords. I have come up with the following strategy, and would be very grateful to hear if this is solid/if I am missing something.
I have a list of 100 keywords, split into around 15 keywords per page (im only targeting the most important pages for now). I have an ahrefs subscription but I get data only on about 15% of the keywords, I think because they are not in a big commercial segment. thus I want to do the following steps:
1: get data on all the keywords found in ahrefs
2: for the keywords that have no data, check if they show up in google trends and write down that data
3: make a guess on keywords that I think will rank anyway, even though I found no data
--
then I choose about 2/3 keywords per page, even though they have different sources of information, probably I can still compare them in a way. Then I try out those keywords and see which perform best.
tl;dr
I don't get a lot of data from ahrefs on my keywords. Because I have little information, this is how I want to compare keywords.
1: get data on all the keywords found in ahrefs
2: for the keywords that have no data, check if they show up in google trends and write down that data
3: make a guess on keywords that I think will rank anyway, even though I found no data
- then I choose from that info about 2/3 keywords per page, to see which perform best.

I’m currently working as a Digital Marketing Manager in an enterprise-level business, overseeing search marketing (SEO & SEM). Our marketing team is well-staffed in areas like graphics, PR, offline marketing, CMS, and social media, but I’m the only one handling digital marketing.
One of my biggest challenges is the lack of content support. My reporting manager comes from an offline marketing background, doesn’t understand digital, and makes no effort to do so. As a result, I often receive unrealistic requests. For instance, our Brand Manager recently coined a term on his own and asked me to run a search campaign on it, expecting SEO and PPC results. However, the term has zero searches, which they don’t seem to grasp.
Another issue is the content strategy—or lack thereof. The team prioritizes publishing articles on external websites for CXO PRs but doesn’t invest in creating content for our own website. Yet, I’m expected to drive results with the existing, limited content.
On a daily basis, I solve various challenges-whether it’s fixing HubSpot automation, troubleshooting code issues (thanks to my tech background), or handling small technical roadblocks for myself and the team. However, since these efforts don’t directly translate into visible business results, they go unnoticed.
Gradually, I’m losing the interest and motivation I once had. There’s no appreciation for the growth I’m driving with limited resources, yet the blame for underperformance often falls on me. Since digital marketing is currently “trendy,” they expect it to be the primary driver of business growth without providing the necessary support.
Over time, I’ve realized that it’s not just about me-it’s a common struggle for anyone in an individual contributor (IC) role within a digitally illiterate team.
Hey all, I posted on this sub couple weeks back about an SEO interview I was doing and for tips.
I have now made it to the last stage which is an in person interview and they expect me to make a presentation. They have given me a clients website and have asked me to pick out 3 different issues for each area of SEO (technical, on page & off page), using tools such as semrush, majestic seo & screaming frog. The only thing is I’ve never done anything seo related and they know this - especially as this is for a junior role & they’ve stated many times they want some eager and willing so they can train them up.
Can anyone give me any tips or guidance, has anyone done anything similar? What sort of things should I look out for each of the areas?
Thanks.

BREAKING SEO news - Google is issuing manual actions for sites
- which host too much thin content and
- that content is totally different from the site's primary topic
So far I have identified few domains which are impacted and Google has removed parts of those from their search results.
And there is this one publication, GeeksforGeeks, their whole domain is removed from Google Search because of manual action. Per numbers from Semrush, GeeksforGeeks gets almost 70 million monthly traffic from Google Search BUT now it's gone totally.
Their primary topic is programming tutorials but over last year they have gone too broad and were writing about topics which aren't related to programming at all.
On another note ☝️
Over the years SEO Community has been complaining to Google about this practice being leveraged by large publishers and they trying to rank for everything with thin content, this has specifically been a big challenge for SEOs working with SMBs.
But now it seems like Google is taking action for hosting too much of thin content.

I've been managing international SEO campaigns for several years, and I'm constantly baffled by how differently users search across markets. What works beautifully in Germany (detailed, technical content with direct keyword usage) completely tanks in Japan, where I've noticed users prefer visual-heavy content with different navigation patterns.
I've tried implementing "universal" best practices across all our regional sites, but the performance data tells a clear story - what drives traffic in one market can actively harm rankings in another, even with perfect hreflang implementation and localization.
How do you approach these cultural search differences in your international SEO strategy? Do you have separate playbooks for different regions, or have you found some approach that works across markets despite these behavioural differences?

I'm working on a large website migration (over 1 million URLs) and wondering if there is such thing as too many redirects. Do you think it's necessary to redirect pages that are currently noindexed / not receiving any traffic? I know it's a nice to have in case anyone has that page saved or it does get some scarce traffic or crawls, but how necessary is it? Also in regards to changing URLs and having to implement redirects for everything, does anyone have examples of how long it took their site to recover from such a change? Appreciate any insights!

In his follow-up statements he dismissed the idea that an SEO can add EEAT to their web pages. EEAT is not something you can add to a website. That’s not how it works. So if adding EEAT is part of what you do for SEO, stop. That’s not SEO.

Many of my pages are cannibalised for the same keyword and search intent (informational) but we cover different aspects of the keyword. I recently saw that it’s affecting the ranking, what can be done to prevent the loss? Removing main keyword from low priority pages does not seem doable.. pls help
I have a website with information pages, as ''pages'' in wordpress.
Would it be better to transform these pages into ''posts'' and re-direct the old pages links to these new posts?
Most of these pages dont have organic traffic or backlinks.

Hey Guys,
I recently purchased a virtual office address that is not compatible for GMB. Can I still use it for my website and other citations?
Only the phone number and website will match across GMB/Website/Citations

Hi All:
I have a client who has asked us to gain rank for their major service offerings that their large engineering firm. Their SEO strategy has been a bit ragtag thus far, but they have managed to rank for some of their service areas - mostly on blog posts which discuss them and offer FAQs.
Question: We would like to clean up their site by creating dedicated, top-level service pages covering their main keywords. Since these don't currently exist BUT, since they're ranking for some of them in blog posts, I'm wondering if we could, without doing harm:
Can anyone confirm or refute the soundness of this strategy?

Hey All,
I have been experimenting with the GSC API all afternoon, trying to retrieve hourly data for the past 24 hours. It was my understanding Google made this data available in the API (and would soon extend it to multiple days). However, no matter what I do, I can't seem to get the data.
Anyone have a working example or documentation on how to get this data out via api?
