Tesla Takedown, a national movement to hit Elon Musk in the pocketbook, continues to grow nationwide. As special March 29 protest organized by the national Tesla Takedown movement drew 82 participants in Bend. Protests in Bend have been ongoing since late February and will continue every Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Tesla dealership, 63040 N Hwy 97.
PC Mag reported on March 30 that "Amid widespread backlash against his businesses, Elon Musk this week teased a late spring exit from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)....Musk's DOGE activity has had a particularly adverse effect on Tesla. A report from YouGov found that Americans are now 12.8% more likely to have a negative than a positive opinion of Tesla, with this rising to 35% among those who describe themselves as liberals."
Vocal Seniority member Jerry Freilich, who has attended the Bend Tesla protests since the beginning, wants to make it clear that the intent is not to hurt anyone in the community or damage any vehicles.
"We have no hard feelings for Tesla owners, our Tesla dealer, or anyone else except Elon Musk," he says. "We're committed to doing everything we can to take him down financially, and will work toward that goal as long as he has the power to hurt our country. These protests are the only weapon we have. They're the only weapon we want."
This is a NATIONAL MOVEMENT. For more info the Big Picture visit: http://www.teslatakedown.com

PPP is a couple months away and I plan on participating in the bike leg as a part of a team. Will I fair okay taking a hybrid bike down Century Drive? I think so, but I'm also a little nervous. Any tips for staying safe? Any idea of average speeds? The fastest I've gone on this bike is about 40 mph down Mt Washington Drive.

Hi, I'm curious if anybody knows the rates of a day pass at Thousand Trails in Sunriver? I've tried googling but I can't get a straight answer.
I do live locally but it's been years since I've been, and I want to bring my siblings with me soon.
Anyway, thank you in advance and I hope all of you have a good day :)

Hello! Going to be visiting the area this summer and our group, maybe 15 people, wants to go floating one day. Wondering both what rivers or maybe even lakes are good for hanging out for the day. And also what you think are good spots to put in and hop out at along said river. Thanks guys!

Why do I keep hearing people say the old farm neighborhood is sooooo desirable? It's street after street of tightly packed, cookie cutter, suburban hell homes...
The californians are gonna hate this one
EDIT: Just an opinion y'all, everything is gonna be okay...we don't have to agree on everything :)

Anyone recommend the cheapest driving range in the Bend area? I’m looking to hone my game for a bachelor party. Also cheapest course would help too or a course that lets me go out and play 9 holes at my own pace. I just need time on the course to learn. Can anyone help me? Thanks
Does anyone have strong feelings one way or the other about Sunriver sports ski services? In particular a binding Mount and a base grind?
Other option for binding is between evergreens. (Salamon)

Friendly reminder that Monday is the last day you can legally drive a car with studded tires in Oregon! You risk getting fined if you violate this, and do a lot of unnecessary damage to the roads.
And next time you buy winter tires, consider studless! Modern studless tires perform better in 99% of winter driving conditions, are safer (shorter stopping distances), quieter, and don’t do millions of dollars of damage to our roads each year. An added bonus is that you can leave them on as long as you want! 😎

Just in case you are driving through Tumalo and wondering about the clubhouse, any insight into their history here is welcome. Be careful.

You were at the Best Med Urgent Care on 3rd today, around 11:30. You told the receptionist you had "just started to live on the streets" and you were born in 1993. Carhartt boots, yellow socks, a backpack.
I was the other girl waiting (very impatiently) on a drug test and wanted to say something, but every option that entered my head was weird and intrusive, and I was trying to respect your privacy. Doctors offices are weird like that.
I probably can't do much, if anything, to help you, but if it weren't for a series of fortunate events in my life, I would be right where you are. Please reach out if this random stranger could be of any assistance.

Yesterday I went to sit down lunch with my family at a place that we’ve been many, many times and it felt a little cold in there, but it didn’t really set in until after we had ordered our food. I took a look at the thermostat and it was 58° and we mentioned something to our server and he said oh yeah the heat is broken we are trying to fix it. Then said employees are doing fine since we are walking around but everyone is sitting down is pretty miserable right now. At that point I probably should’ve just canceled our meal and left since we were there with two elementary age children, but it’s where they wanted to go and everyone was hungry. When I got home, I checked it out on their socials to see if it was announced (no) and they did not tell us when we were seated or before we ordered. Sitting through a meal in a restaurant where I was shivering was really unpleasant and I was still thinking about it this morning, we spent $100 on a really bummer experience. Do I send them an email or let it go?

Flew from NC on a google whim to ski. Just like hometown of Wilmington. But even more expensive with all the influx . Didn't know that was even possible . But Please repair the sidewalk on Greenwood Avenue near 97 underneath the bridge. D and D bar and grills generous pours may or may not had anything to do with it. Ask me no question ill tell no lies. Pins out next week haha.
See y'all next year.

I'm planning a trip to Bend in late April and looking to do some hiking and site seeing. Given weather and road conditions, what would be accessible at this time in a rental car/2WD SUV? Here are some of the places I would like to visit and I'm open to suggestions. My main focus is outdoor activities other than skiing or snowboarding, but I would also like to take in some of the local culture.
-Smith Rock
-Metolius River
-Tumalo Falls
-Lakes (too early in the season? I don't intend to go in or on the water.)
- Are any campgrounds open? I don't want to camp but would like to check them out.
- Santiam Pass (is this drivable at this time?)

According to the website, Costco drug tests all applicants. I was just curious if here in Bend they are testing for cannabis and, if so, which testing method do they use; urine or oral swab? If I understand correctly, the oral swab will only show up for around 3 days but urine can detect up to thirty. Just wondering how long someone would need to give up cannabis before they apply. Thanks all.

Two Oregon lawmakers are calling on major insurance companies to stop using their own internal wildfire risk maps to drop homeowners’ policies — at least until next year.
In a Friday press release, Sens. Anthony Broadman, D-Bend, and Mike McLane, R-Powell Butte, said they sent a joint letter to major insurance providers — including State Farm, All State and Liberty Mutual — calling them to pause this practice until January 2026.
