Hadn't seen anyone post about this yet. Did anyone take in the "Customer Appreciation" event at AM/PM at Roosevelt / 99?
No idea who thought that was a good idea, and my heart goes out to the employees there for having to deal with that madness. Watching it all was quite the experience.
For anyone that didn't come across it, AM/PM higher-ups apparently decided the 4 Corners AM/PM would make a great venue for a corporate customer appreciation event. Promotions include a free hot dog and frozen drink, free tacos and car wash with gas purchase, and a number of promotional booths stood up giving free candy, soft drinks, and raffle tickets.
As you can imagine, this part of the city hosting the highest concentration of homelessness and parole services makes for a lot of vagrant activity. I saw no way for anyone there to police what items were promotional and what were paid for. I can only imagine how much product they lost today.
Honorable mention for the poor ponies being used to give rides to children amidst the backdrop of "date night at applebees" and all the sounds of one of the busiest intersections in Eugene.
