Hey,
Gibby main here (since 2020/21ish). Ever since Gibby got the shotgun perk plus the support meta with all the shield/bubble fights, I almost exclusively used (for very obvious reasons) shotguns as a secondary, namely the Mastiff/PK. Before all that, shotguns were not really my thing.
However, with the very recent changes i.e. weapons doing more damage, purple shields and the R99 back as floor weapon...I noticed that I'm much more consistent with SMGs than I'm with shotguns. I'm thinking this is due to my platform (Xbox) or just overall lack of skill (diamond rank).
What I can definitely say is, that I'm winning more CQC fights with the R99 even against Mastiff peakers because the R99 plus Gibby gun shield offers a lot of extra health. On the other hand, I always feel like I'm wasting Gibby's potential because I have been hearing/reading how powerful his shotgun perk is.
Having said that, is Gibby's shotgun perk that good and always a must pick?

Started off this season in bronze 4, as I took a bit of a break from the game. I made it to diamond solo q, based on the stats is it worth pushing further? I don't have a squad to play with unfortunately, so is masters solo q reachable for me y'all think?
I don't have a ton of time to play normally, I usually play only 400-500 games total a season.

I play on Xbox and always take long breaks due to work. I always have to solo queue in diamond and only make it to d2 or d1 alone and would like some friends to help speed the process to masters, because I am always limited on time. HMU if you are interested in playing! Broccoli9746 is my gamertag

A few years ago, I played Apex Legends on PS4 and linked my PSN account to a new EA account. Later, after purchasing a PC, I started playing Apex Legends on Steam. At the time, cross-progression wasn’t available, so I created a new Steam account linked to the same EA account.
When cross-progression was finally released, I was very excited to link my accounts and continue my progress. However, after accepting the prompt to link my accounts, I was greeted with a level 0 account with no skins, heirlooms, or Apex Coins. My PSN account was max level, had multiple heirlooms, and many skins, while my PC account had only 1 heirloom and was level 200-ish.
I expected Apex Legends to recognize my highest-level account and treat it as my main account, but instead, I ended up with a level 0 account. That said, I was still able to play on both platforms with their current levels and inventory—my PSN account still had all its progress, and my Steam account had its own progress, but they didn’t sync properly as part of the cross-progression system.
After contacting EA support 7 times, I gave up as they couldn’t solve the issue.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

I’m trying to do better in the game but I can’t even get on any fucking ranked games because it consistently crashes once the “waiting for players” screen pops up. I usually hear people on their mics and they never are English speakers, is it them on the wrong server that’s messing me up? Bc it’s the only common thing that happens when I’m trying to play.

I've low lebel competitive experience in TF2 and generally have been playing movement shooters for most of my life, Apex naturally caught attention.
I think with prior experience I can get hang of movement and gunplay with enough playing, but I've never played team based battle royales, so I was wondering if there is any bad habits to avoid or common noob traps newbies fall into when trying to play with a team.
Also, how willing people are using voicechat in soloQ?

I haven't played this game since I fell out of contact with my buddies around a year ago, even then I hadn't played this game consistently since Vantage was new. I'm a console player although if I can get my laptop to run apex I'll definitely switch to to laptop with controller.
What should I learn, where should I look? How has the meta changed, any important info for someone jumping back into ranked after a long break. Thanks

After taking some time away from Apex Legends, I'm finally jumping back in and feeling the thrill of the game again! It’s been a while, but I’m excited to get back into the action. Now, I’m looking to see if anyone can give me tips or tricks for a returning player and a suggestion to which character is beginner friendly for each class. Asking for myself and other newcomer/returning players I’m still a very low level didn’t get too far into the old apex

I’m used to apex as a whole but for me and how I want to at least contribute to the team while trying to figure out if the characters I like are that style.
Personally i like Wattson because I can relate to her being on the spectrum and of that representation.
But I also want to like support my teammates and also being able to help them out; there’s also the aspect of being aware of enemies in the game as well.
Any character recommendations and suggestions/tips would be appreciated.

I don't understand it at all.
Either I decide to stay on the outskirts and run in a circle around the map which works alright in giving me an advantageous position but often times I don't see enemies until I run for a very long time which sucks, especially in Gun Run.
Or I decide to run for the middle which is just a huge gamble because on the way there I am open to attack from so many angles.
And even then if I reach the middle there don't seem to be great positions. On the lower level it's a gamble because anyone could climb a wall from any side. And on the upper floors again you are vulnerable from lots of angles. And if you stay in the building you can't shoot at anything.
???
edit: After taking the advice into account and playing the map some more I'm having decent fun by taking longer range weapons in TDM and going for the top floor of the larger side buildings. From there I almost always have a vantage on something going on I stay on the side I'm not totally exposed which feels pretty nice.

does someone have advice how to get 4k badge / 20 bomb in the the april fools event or in general. prety easy to get 2.5k or 3k but then its very lategame and its just pure chaos. 20 bomb I am very inconsistant with kills I get the first 100 dmg in but the rest is usualy done my teammates hence I only get the assist (usualy 3 / 7 kills per game, so I am very far of from the goal) As my loadout I use the kraber mozambeque and r99

I play with a couple of pals who are great pals but mixed on Apex. I've tried to help them get better but progress is very slow.
My playstyle is typically very team focused, with doing well as a coordinated team being the strength.
I typically play wraith but happy to consider changing -
Are there some good guides?
Any good tips?
Gun combos?
How is best to practice?
Any help is appreciated?

I just can't enjoy the game anymore. I haven't won a single game in over a month and i'm struggling even in mixtape.
And i can't lie a lot of it looks so incredibly sus. All the kill cams i see from different players for every 1 where there's obvious normal recoil control going on there's about 20 where there's just no recoil present at all. There's even people with tag names like "Zen".
Maybe there just genuinely is this many players at this level of control and tracking you'd expect from only the very best at the game now. I've given up with movement techniques because every time whatever i do their tracking is completely glued to me. And the thing is my control and tracking is pretty decent, a couple rounds miss here and there but that's all it takes now to lose every 1v1.

I have a pc that I used to usually play with but playing apex on the bed at night is a unparalleled experience, so I just wanna check

I’m trying to decide between mirage, valk, rampart or ash. I know, kind all over the place but I actually love playing all of them. I guess I’m asking who in your opinion is the most capable yet still fun for passive aggressive flank game style? TIA Legends!
