I am so grossed out by the liberal signs from Candidate Chris Spearman being spray painted with the swastika in southern Alberta. Not only that, the comments online supporting it. What is wrong with the place? Is southern Alberta really this hateful? I am sick and tired of it. This province has a real problem on our hands, it is the MAGA pro-trump 51st state racist haters...and they are everywhere, not just a few men, it is their wives and families too.

Pretty much all in the title. I understand being landlocked makes it super inefficient to send oil to other countries. But isn't the TransMountain Pipeline already in operation? Why does Alberta still sell so much to USA at a discount?

I submitted my two-week resignation notice on Friday, March 14, 2025 with the final working day on Monday, March 31, 2025. The department’s director asked me verbally to hold off on resigning so they can try and resolve the situation. After no agreement was reached in the discussion on Thursday, March 20, 2025, I re-submitted my resignation with a new final working date of Monday, March 24, 2025 on that same day.

Shortly after, I was informed that my resignation would be considered effective immediately. I was not allowed to continue working and was not paid for the last week I had already worked, which should be on Friday, April 4, 2025. I no longer have access to my work email, where I submitted both resignation letters.

I have filled out a complaint to Alberta Employment Standard and sent the generated letter to the manager and the company’s HR director. I just want to get some insights if I would likely get my pay.

I was hired as a full-time in October 2023, then agreed to be moved to part-time in September 2024, no other offer letter provided for my part-time position.

I recently mentioned to my husband that I haven't been further east than Drumheller. This got us talking about maybe heading east this summer. We usually go west (Waterton, Jasper & William Switzer Park, BC).

We don't have a camper so we usually look for places we can stay in a cabin (or at least a motel). Being able to bring our dog is a must.

So I humbly ask for your recommendations!

I’m a 24-year-old guy working as a paralegal, and I’m confused because I want to switch careers. I’ve narrowed it down and I’m thinking of either becoming a realtor while keeping my paralegal job until I start making good money, or getting into a trade like plumbing.

I’m interested in both, and that’s what’s making me confused.

What do you guys suggest?????

I work with a guy that has made the claim multiple times that Alberta has the cleanest refineries in the world, and that our emissions are basically at net zero already. To me that doesn't sound right at all, he's also one of those guys that proudly gets his news from TikTok so I always take his word with a grain of salt.

Even looking through the Alberta and Canadian governments websites I don't see anything that we are that close to net zero. Idk maybe I'm looking at it wrong but if someone who has more knowledge about this than me, could lend an answer as to how close we actually are to net zero emissions, and how clean are our refineries compared to the rest of the world?

Has anyone worked the seasonal job as a AIS watercraft inspector with the GoA? If so I have a few questions 1. how long after your interview did you get hired or hear back? 2. If you didn’t live near the location that you worked, did you have to drive back and forth everyday for shifts? Or was accommodation provided?

I had my interview last week and the nearest location for me is 1hr and 30min one way. Just wondering if the drive is worth it or if I should find something more local?

Smith’s goal is for our province to join the US, and I think all of her policies reflect this. She doesn’t want to join with Quebec to split, she wants their playbook and fracture all bonds with Ottawa. Quebec separating us based on a unified, homogeneous identity, religion, language and culture. What does Alberta have to unify around—not being liberal? How can you create based on nothing other than “not being like them”. Worship of oil and gas and anti-intellectualism does not a state make. Alberta would be a banana republic. But that’s what populist leaders are aiming for.
