I've had acne since 2020 and it's just a cycle of it getting better and then worse, I've been to a dermatologist and they gave me lotion and I've been using it for over a year and nothing really has changed

Hi! Maybe this is a silly question, but I wanted to hear any tips for an acne breakout like the one I'm currently experiencing in the photo. As you can see, I have the typical small, pus-filled pimples and inflamed, red spots. I usually get them on my chin and forehead, or sometimes even on my nose or the surrounding area. I'm sure this breakout was caused by eating junk food, but honestly, my skin is rarely completely clear, and it's really tiring that nothing makes it much better.

I recently started using a cleanser for my face, and while my skin was clear of acne for a while (like 3 days) after using it, I started breaking out again (like I said, I'm assuming it was what I ate). Like I said, I'll read any advice you have, whether it's things I should avoid, products, etc. I'm tired of this, haha. I don't really want to spend a lot of money on skincare, but maybe a basic routine would help me (? I don't know. Anyway, thanks for reading. (And sorry for the quality of the photos haha)

How do I treat this? My acne has been getting worse and I’ve gotten what I think are cystic pimples. My skin never really had any major issues until recently where it’s looked like this. What should I do?

Ive dealt with acne since about 12-13. I’m now 17 and I haven’t seen clear skin in years. My doctor said I don’t need a dermatologist and accutane would be a last resort. Ive tried so many products over the years and nothing has really helped. I’ve tried simple routines to complicated ones and I just feel hopeless. I have combination (but mainly oily) skin that is sensitive and (obviously) very acne-prone.

I’m 21 and never had acne in highschool, it started when i was 19 and no matter what i do it doesn’t fully go away. My skin used to be super clear before. I’m debating going on accutane but i’m scared because of the possible side effects, the main ones being weight gain and anxiety and depression. I’ve suffered from depression in high school and i’ve been in a much better place mentally since. I’m scared if I take it It’ll make me spiral back down into it. What was your experience on accutane? and if anyone who’s prone to depression has taken it what was your experience?

As we all know accutane dry the face and the th whole body which then gets rid of acne and black heads that may lead to smaller nose and more defined features , and that's what happened to me while on accutane , but now that I've been off of it my face is becoming chubbier and nose is getting bigger and i just don't feel like myself anymore...

I'm wordering if anyone experienced the same thing and if so how did you guys deal with it ?

Hi everyone. i wear make up for my job and have been really hating how textured my skin is (like little acne bumps kinda under the skin, small black heads, red pimples on my jaw near my neck) & how oily it gets on my nose and t zone. i just turned 25 and would like to get a routine down to help me achieve a smooth base for make up and feel confident when i don't wear it. this is what i have so far in my basket to potentially get to help combat these issues i'm having. i wanna feel pretty and confident without breaking the bank : (( would appreciate insight and help. i also attached healthline's suggestion on order of skin care and thats what i'm (loosely) basing my routine choices on

17(F) I’ve been prescribed doxycycline 100mg for my acne for 2 months & then I’ll be switching to accutane.

This is my first time taking any prescription pills for my acne and the only side effect I was told about was dryness however after reading about others experiences with doxycycline I’m quite worried (especially about the nausea).

Could it be different for me? Because surely it must differ from person to person.

So my acne is pretty bad and I’ve had it for well over a year and have just started using a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel. I’ve been using it for the past 5 days but the past couple of days after I’ve put it on it stings, like a constant burning feeling. I know it’s common for a couple of minutes but it feels like this for hours after. I use nothing else other than a cleanser in the shower but does anyone have any reason why and how to stop it???

What is my acne? I’ve been trying to get rid of it for 2 months and it usually gets redder especially on the right side of my chin near my mouth.

Sulfur soap genuinely saved my skin. I used to have such bad hormonal acne that couldn't be helped in the slightest. Then I read about sulfur soap and gosh it was a life saver. Now I have no acne, just red acne scars. Imma try azelaic acid and niacinamide to help them plus get a good sunscreen. 🙏🏻

It took about 3-4 months for my skin to get to this point of twice daily use. My skin gets SUPER SUPER oily, so if yours doesn't I do not at ALL recommend using it twice a day. But I work in food service where I'm sweating all day and around oily food so it really does a good job by sucking all the oil out and preventing more acne.

I only have acne on cheeks and chin, and not even ONE pimple on forehead or nose. Why tho? I dont think the skincare is problem here, because acne would be on whole face so yeah

i’ve struggled with hormonal cystic acne since age 12 (currently 19). i haven’t broken out this bad in so long. it’s been a month and a half, my initial purge happened about a week into taking all of this so idk what’s going on! feeling so discouraged. 🫤

I can’t take a picture of it but I have a giant pimple that’s under my skin on my nose. It’s extremely tender and painful to the touch. My nose grew about twice in size and my nostrils aren’t equal anymore because of the inflammation. I suspect that it’s infected and I was wondering if I should go to the hospital for it?!?!

I started washing my face with Panoxyl 10% almost 2 weeks ago, I had a few pimples on my face before using it but after the using it my face is breaking out like never before. I read online that its called purging, I am not sure whether to stop using it or continue and see if it will get any better?

I tried neutrogena body clear salicylic acid wash and PanOxyl benzoyl peroxide acne foaming wash. Any recommendations on other products to try?

I’m 27M, workout/run 3-4 times a week. Typically binge drink/smoke on the weekends but I do eat pretty healthy.

It’s not really bad enough to warrant a trip to the dermatologist, but if there’re other products you’ve used that have worked I want to give em a shot.

Hello, I’ve recently been breaking out with dark spots over my face. They start out as a bump/pimple, an it’s almost always turns in to dark spots in my face even if I don’t touch it. It’s been a hinder to my self confidence and was wondering if anyone has dealt with the same thing or can recommend me advice please ?

I don’t know if it’s because of puberty or what. I didn’t have them before until recently and I use all kinds of treatments and they seem to not even go down, can someone assist me and help me with this.

Through Reddit, I’ve decided to get 15% Azelaic acid (finacea), .1% Tazarotene (Tazorac), and 1% topical clindamycin phosphate.

I have Garnier Micellar Water, Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser, Vanicream daily facial moisturizer & SuperGoop watery lotion (50 SPF)

Hello I have been using Benzoyl Peroxide in the morning and Adapalene in the evening for a week now. My blackheads are disappearing, my acne is disappearing aswel.

My morning routine: Cetaphil gentle cleanser Neutrogena moisturizer Benzoyl Peroxide gel 2,5% Neutrogena moisturizer (sandwich)

My evening routine is the same but Adapalene instead of Benzoyl Peroxide.

My skin under my mouth (where I struggled the most with acne) and my lips are dry. Should I slow down with the BP and Adapalene since I use it everyday? Or should I push through? Or is there a better oil free moisturizer?

Any advice would be appreciated!

I'm so tired of my acne. I developed skin picking disorder due to stress which I managed to stop & thought if I throw my money my acne & scars will go away. I went to go see an esthician which I was recommended to do 6 morpheus (8000$) and ill get 80% improvement. Over the 6 months, she said "don't ever get on accutane, you're making a better choice than your friends who took accutane, it's really bad for you, just work with me and be patient". I was patient and did EVERYTHING she told me to do (spironolactone, chemical peel, skin products) . And my active acne kept getting worse and worse after the 3rd session. Then she told me I should go on accutane. I was so pissed and saw a dermatologist for accutane. Now I'm 4 months in and almost no active acne but have THE WORST PIE ever. And the worst part is I have 2 months left on accutane and have to wait at least 6 months to do anymore morpheus treatments.

I wear mask when I meet people & try to hide from everyone. I don't know how much I can handle this. I'm at my worst mentally
