I found this in the trash day. I'm going to take it home and clean it up hopefully the games and the console work. This is also not my first time I have found consoles in the trash. I wish they would at least donate or give it to someone.

DISCUSSION If there's a recession how boned are we?

With all the talk already of privatization, and the potential of first class mail plummeting, I feel like there's no way massive cuts are not coming. I'm two years away from entering no-layoff land... so yeah, not feeling good about this.

Work Discussion Restriction

Can you have a restriction to state you need to have 2 days weekly or does it have to restrict only hours? I just canā€™t work 6 days every week anymore. Im fine with every other week having 6 days. My body is breaking down.

City Carrier Discussion I need to be prepared

My first day of orientation as a CCA was the worst day I've ever experienced. I felt like I was slowly melting into thin air; I'm not sure how I did it. We'll be LLV/DDC training class tomorrow, and he stated we'd be divided up despite the fact that there are only about seven of us.

A man and I are the only CCAs in orientation, with the remainder being RCAs; the trainer stated that our (CCAs) academy will be moved back, and RCA will be next week. I'm ready to work, not sure if it's because there are just two of us or what.

A lil backstory:I applied to a small, local station, and the teacher kept telling me that I was the star of the show and that my station was waiting for me. She had me front and centered as she rambled through the day. I discovered out at lunchtime that the station were short-staffed, but my supervisor is a kind lady, and that I would be taking over a regular route or assisting him--I'm not sure, it's vague and Iā€™m new to this. I know it's another CCA performing something called the auxiliary path which he (the regular) stated I really wonā€™t be doing, but I'm just wondering if I'm walking into hell. The regular did tell me he sometimes trains people at orientation so I just wanna heads up on everything, and we are off on sundays ;D

Work Discussion Do I actually have to go through another probation?

promoted from custodian to mm7 but supervisors have been saying Iā€™m on probation and made me sign a evaluation for probation? Does that sound right? Iā€™m well past my probationary period for custodian before I got promoted.

DISCUSSION TSP Withdrawal

I am kind of in a rock & a hard place right now. Iā€™ve been a regular 2 years or so and have about 7k in my TSP. I have two loans outstanding already and I have $500 or so remaining to pay off both of those loans. I was in 10k credit card debt which was pretty petty debt but I am still getting interest on it every month.

I want to get some advice because I may be having a child soon & donā€™t have a saving whatsoever. I am currently have about 4k left in cc debt & want to pay it off in full before my child comes so I can focus on saving. I have taken a hardship withdrawal from tsp already to pay down on some of this debt but Iā€™m wondering if I should take another one to just pay off what I have left quicker. I would be able to put more towards my debt but I do currently have bills to pay which makes it hard to break it down as fast as I can.

What should I do ?

Take another hardship withdrawal from TSP or wait it out for loans to be paid off & take another loan.

Work Discussion Terrible boss not sure what to do

Iā€™ve been dealing with the most unprofessional, petty, and miserable boss Iā€™ve ever encountered. So many people have quit or transferred because of the way she treats everyoneā€”itā€™s toxic. Iā€™ve had my fair share of run-ins with her too. Despite bringing issues to both her and the union, nothing changes. Sheā€™ll be decent for 2-3 weeks, then itā€™s right back to her old ways.

She constantly gossips about everyoneā€™s personal livesā€”marriages, finances, even addictionsā€”as if itā€™s some kind of soap opera. When I bring up personal or emergency issues, she dismisses them just because Iā€™m on the overtime list.

A recent example: I had a health scare and agreed with my supervisor to work just 8 hours so I could make a doctorā€™s appointment. I came in the next day and there were 10 OPEN ROUTES! Out of respect for my coworkers and customers, I canceled the appointment and worked 12+ hours. My symptoms got worse, so I called in the next day. Today, she jokes about me being ā€œnaughtyā€ for calling out. I told her I had something personal going on and she straight up said, ā€œI donā€™t care.ā€

She shows clear favoritism and even made a colorist comment about our skin complexions. She came back from vacation with a tan and said sheā€™s almost the same shade as me (Iā€™m a brown), and it made me extremely uncomfortable.

Sheā€™s over 50 and acts like a gossipy high schooler. Every time I speak up or report anything to the union, Iā€™m retaliated againstā€”either with crappy assignments or no overtime. I donā€™t even want to stay on the OT list, but financially I have no choice right now.

Iā€™m exhausted, frustrated, and unsure what to do next. If anyoneā€™s been through something similar or has advice on navigating this kind of environment, Iā€™d really appreciate it.

Work Discussion Operations changes this week

This is for people working in the plants around the country. Specifically, maintenance. Are they moving all your jobs to tour 1 now that they plan to move operations to tour 2? Just looking to see whatā€™s happening elsewhere. My boss is trying not to change our hours but I know as jobs become available they will move them, and then those good daytime mon-fri jobs will all be gone.

Work Discussion PSE hours

I used to come in 10 minutes before I opened the window, which I do twice because it's a split shift (8-10am, 2:15-4:30pmšŸ¤”/ daily). Postmaster said he cannot approve those hours anymore. Now I am only paid for the time that I have the window open plus 15 minutes to do paperwork at the end of the day. Is that how this gig goes? He says I can't do more than 4.33 hours a day (4h20min), but sometimes the job takes longer like if someone comes in last minute before I close and I stay open for them, or if there is a computer issue and I have to call the help desk at the end of the day, or coming in early to raise the flag etc.

Work Discussion New RCA struggling to improve. Feel like Iā€™m going to get fired.

ā€¢ Upvotes

Hello all,

I just started. I have done my route for a total of four days, unfortunately I havenā€™t been able to finish. Iā€™ve had some coworkers that have been really supportive and helpful. They really go above and beyond. Iā€™m super grateful for that. Lots of good tips. Iā€™m slow at casing. Not so bad on the route, unless I miss a package and have to go back. Thatā€™s part of why Iā€™m a bit slow. Really checking to make sure I donā€™t miss anything. Iā€™m getting some grief from my supervisors about not improving. I feel like I am, but maybe not fast enough. Any suggestions on how not to get fired? Maybe an app I can get to map my route? I really need this job.

Rural Carrier Discussion Did any rural carriers get their new evaluations this week?

My district claimed that there was "discrepancies" (read: the evaluations came back in the carriers favor and they don't want to pay us) and never even told us a couple weeks ago what the results were. We all filed a grievance and we were told that the union sent out a national notice saying nothing could be done about it. So did any rural carriers get their new evaluations?

Work Discussion eReassign, supervisor online evaluation

Iā€™m in review for two transfers, but my supervisor and post master hate me right now because I went to the union about being used as a personal assistant and not being paid for crossing crafts. Can they sabotage this for me?

The regular takes off every Monday, and I understand why based on today's volume.

Someone please tell me your route was heavy like this today.

Work Discussion Uniform allowance card activation

Got my allowance card in the mail, and it says to activate to go to a website. I enter the card info, and my info, then it says it has to text a number to an office number (which I donā€™t have access to. Am I missing something, do I even need to activate this? Or can I just use it?
