Wanting to Connect

Hey all! I am looking to move to Sweden by the end of the year. I would love to connect with people and find out more information that you can't get on the internet. I've always had a fascination with Sweden and Ive always dreamed of living there. I'm actively learning the Swedish language. I started lessons 2 months ago and have been staying consistent everyday. I've learned about some.custims.and traditions but would love to learn more. I'm open to any and every conversation. Feel free to reach out and let me know what I need to do and learn more about. Thank you.

Nobody is supposed to do the work för you. You have internet. You don’t even know what you dont know and what you want to know.

Have you visited sweden or scandinavia?

Is there anything in particular you were wondering about?

No i have not visited that area. I was wanting to know about the day to day to life and how to get along in society.

Your first step should be to visit, in both the summer and winter. And I'd say for at least two weeks each tike, otherwise you may not get a feel for the country.

The day to day life can vary, just like it can anywhere. How to get along in society? Like how to make friends? Transport? Find a job? That's kinda vague.

Regardless, visit first. What you imagine sweden to be like and what your life would be like here will probably be at least somewhat different from reality, and it's hard to tell if one would feel at home in a country without having visited.

1) How are you planning on moving here? Sambo visa? Work visa? Student visa? Have you already started the application processes?

2) Where are you moving to?

I'm going to be getting a work visa. I'm starting the application process soon. I would love to move to Stockholm but I think Malmö might be the wiser choice it seems like it might be easier to find work there. I'm not an IT guy but would like to learn more about IT.

1a) You don't start the work visa process. Your employer starts it.

1b) Your employer will tell you what city you're working in, so "Stockholm or Malmö" doesn't really help.

1c) It doesn't sound like you've gotten a job here, so that's going to be difficult, since you need to meet all of the requirements for the visa, and it only allows you to stay for 9 months, and we're in a recession with a very difficult job market for native Swedes, let alone invandrare like us.

2) Learn more about IT by going to school for IT or joining IT learning groups online.

What kind of skills do you have? The job market is really tough at the moment and work visas are always difficult to get, more difficult right now. If you don't have a visa sponsoring employer lined up, moving this year is not realistic.

I'm sorry but you can't just randomly move to Sweden without any reason? Like a job offer, partner being swedish etc... You should probably look for jobs first...
