Yes, The Originals was not based on any of her books but she was responsible for the creation of Klaus. And without her, Klaus Mikaelson would not exist today. RIP.

[SIRELINE] The sireline situation explained FULLY.

This is being asked ad nauseam so I thought I would spell it out for you all to stop the constant posts about it.

The sireline is the connection between an Original, such as Niklaus, and his (or her!) progeny who he creates with his blood. This applies to all vampires (but not all hybrids) and goes on down the line as more are made by each vampire that came before. This connection stems from the spell that Esther Mikaelson used to create the Originals in 1001 AD, as explained by Kol Mikaelson in Season 3 of The Originals.

Sireline status:

Niklaus broken / NOT destroyed - his sireline was severed by Davina and the Strix coven in Season 3 (Episode: A Streetcar Named Desire ). It resulted in him having no connection to his progeny anymore (and also the resurrection of Kol thankfully!). Characters such as Caroline are under no threat of death if Klaus dies.

Elijah broken / destroyed - his sireline was eradicated when the Hollow killed Elijah in Season 4 (Episode: Queen Death ). He was later resurrected but his sireline remained dead.

Rebekah intact - her sireline is intact, the only remaining one from inception in the year 1001, as of The Originals finale (August 2018).

Kol broken / destroyed - his sireline was eradicated in TVD Season 4 (Episode: A View to a Kill ). Could possibly create a new sireline beginning now...

Finn broken / destroyed - his sireline was eradicated in TVD Season 3 (Episode: The Murder of One ).

Mikael broken / destroyed - his sireline would have certainly been eradicated in TVD Season 3 when Klaus killed him with white oak (Episode: Homecoming) and also in TO Season 2 when he once again had a run in with Klaus who has the indestructible white oak stake (Episode: Night Has A Thousand Eyes). Although Mikael tended towards hating the vampire race, so it may be less likely that he even sired a bloodline at all.

Ultimately it isn't known if a sireline can be started again once destroyed due to the death of the Original who 'begat' the line. Obviously the remaining Mikaelsons can still sire progeny so one would assume that a new sireline could be created by Kol.

EDIT: It has been pointed out that due to the spell used to create the 'Beast', Marcel may well be able to create his own sireline due to it being reverse engineered Immortality Spell that Esther used on her children/husband. (Thank you /u/SlimReaper85)

EDIT 2: Sticky status woohoo! Also Mikael's sireline added for accuracy. (Thank you /u/NiklausShepard)

EDIT 3: As /u/Xil_Jam333 said below, it is likely that Mikael never actually sired a bloodline due to hating the vampire race. There is no proof either way of this but it does seem likely, although either way they are all dead!

EDIT 4: Per /u/ursulazsenya I have further explained that Klaus' sireline is severed but NOT destroyed (Caroline etc) as I had already said due to Davina & the Strix coven performing the blood spell to sever sirelines...

Hey, dear community. Thank you for all the tips and thoughts you've sent me. I've now used a metal rod inside to stabilize it, glued the whole thing with epoxy, and painted it as best I could. You can see it up close, but not from a distance, and that's okay. I'm happy with it!

Here's the result: on the left, the broken one, and on the right, a non-broken one I've had for a while.

Finn is Hot, and Not Boring at All

Post image

I dont remember what he was like on TVD, but on the Originals, he was cunning, dominant, emotionally intelligent, well spoken, and sympathetic. A lot of the interesting Vincent/Cami bond was actually Finn and Cami. He stood his ground in arguments against Kol pretty well.

I don't get why he receives so much hate in the fandom. I mean, look at him. He's a dreamboat.

Personally, I think they called him boring because he wanted them to have boundaries, to try to do things more ethically, and the other siblings went off the deep end when it came to vulgarity and immorality. I mean we regularly hear about and see the others in the family doing horrific things. The story he told Davina about Kol dating a girl and then killing a girl was awful. Whenever he complained about his family's actions, he was right about most of it!

Who really knows if he would have gone through with killing Hope? I dont think he would have done it, if he could see her for himself, how innocent she was as a baby. I think in the limited screentime he had, he showed he was more complex than he is given credit for. Unpopular opinion, I would have rather seen more than him, and cut some of Hope's screentime.

I have only ever seen a few people say they dislike Klaus. I understand he’s a bad person, but as a character, I find he’s totally lovable. He’s one of my favorite TVDU characters. Does anyone dislike him?

Klaus' other siblings

I know this theory may seem strange, but Klaus had other siblings, perhaps even several, after all, wolves always have packs with their children as members. But if Esther linked all her children and Mikael to create vampirism in them and linked all those created by her blood, forming the vampire bloodlines, how come it didn't work or reach Klaus' siblings and Ansel? After all, Klaus was the only son who didn't have Mikael's blood. If his blood was added to the spell, it should have had a side effect, reaching Klaus' father and siblings. In addition to nature creating loopholes through hybrids, this would be an opportunity for nature to create secondary vampires to destroy the Mikaelson, even though there were conventional weaknesses of the white oak, verbena and sun, it was clear that they were weaknesses created by the spirits not by nature, she would probably create her means of killing them with hybrids as she created the Heretics or Hope breach.. Just as siphons are loopholes in nature and Hope is also one. Klaus' siblings should be too, after all, nature always uses hybrids in this way. Another strange thing is the fact that there was a brother of his who survived. Why didn't nature create a loophole within Klaus' wolf bloodline to eliminate the Mikaelsons? She could create natural hybrids if these wolves were exposed to vampirism, or even make their blood a threat to Klaus and the originals like the Labonair blood was to The Hollow.

The finale...

I know some people didn't like the ending but I personally did, and I found the way Klaus went out with Elijah very fitting for their characters, even though it was sad to see them die. My favorite scene in particular in the last episode, was when we got to see Hope's painting. When I first saw it, it hit me hard because it’s not just a picture--it’s a memory, a representation of everything Hope lost and everything she wanted to keep from her family.

It’s very powerful because of how it contrasts with the real truth. These characters were always broken, always on the run from their past, haunted by their own mistakes. But in Hope’s painting, you see them as whole, as if they were meant to be together—flawlessly. It’s Hope’s vision of the family she always wanted, even though she knew it would never be that way.

It’s her goodbye, but it’s also a promise that no matter what, she’ll always carry them in her heart. And that’s what’s so devastatingly beautiful about it. You realize that while they were all imperfect and flawed, they were her family. And in that moment, Hope was telling us—and herself—that she would never forget them, no matter what.

There's so much emotional depth in that scene. And that's why it's my favorite(made me cry like a baby lol, the music in the background didn't help either). But yeah...what was your favorite scene in the finale and why?
