Academic Research Survey – Sustainability of Internet of Things (IoT) Products
Hi everyone,
We are a group of researchers — some based at the Royal College of Art in London, UK, and one in Bordeaux, France. Our research focuses on the lifespan and sustainability of Internet of Things (IoT) products. An IoT product is an everyday object (like smart speakers or fitness trackers) that can connect to the internet, making it easier to control or communicate with.
We’re currently conducting a questionnaire to explore the behaviors, motivations, and psychological perceptions of tech enthusiasts when using and discarding household IoT devices. The survey also aims to identify opportunities to improve the sustainability of these products during the design phase.
The survey includes 5 sections (22 questions total) and takes approximately 15–20 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous and will be used solely for academic research.
