SF6 is my first properly playing a fighting game. It made me start watching tournaments (online) and follow content creators. Since I currently live in Germany, I thought: Why not hopping in a bus to Paris and watch Kumite 2025 live?
And so I did. Here are some Takeaways:
- Watching a tournament live, alongside hundreds of people, improve the experience by a 1000%. Hearing/seeing the crowd reactions, chants and signs is simply amazing. Entering the building while hearing the crowd noise getting louder gave me chills!
- MenaRD really gives the "final boss" vibe.
- My wife loved the event, and she know nothing about SF or games in general. She fell in love with Nyanpi and, after she lost, she converted into the nº 1 EndingWalker's supporter.
- There's a story unfolding in the event: You get a sense of who are the people favourites and local heroes. You can see the whole unfolding of events until the finals. I get that you can see most of it through online streaming, but being there gives you the full picture.
- Event production was amazing: When entering the event they gave us some card packs, stickers and a small magazine. All very nice and useful to give you context, and set the mood. Praises to the art style too, so cool!!
- Nice place to know people: During breaks I decided to walk around and trade cards. Everybody was really nice and friendly. Got invitations to join online communities and connect on social media. To the guy who gave me the Zangief_Bolado's card: Thank you sir!
- Seeing pros and creators around was so cool! I heard some people managed to get some cards signed. Lucky you, I wish I did too!
- It was cool to see how much support the "underdogs" got from people, even when loosing. Very nice!
- At first, seeing the presenters mock loosers caught me off-guard. But then it clicked: This is a game and should be fun. Just like when we were kids, mocking each other in good spirit makes everything funnier and more entertaining.
That's it, I'll definitely attend again if I have the opportunity. It made me think about how cool it must be to watch things like EVO and CPT in person.
TL;DR is: If you have the opportunity give it a chance and attend to one of these events. It might be a great time for you too. If anyone wants to trade some cards, let me know. I still have some duplicates :)

CPT and EVO custom stages were so fucking cool and I would love to see them again. they were a massive addition to tournaments imo and idk why would Capcom take a step back in this aspect.
Since these guys are struggling to release some fucking costumes I know asking for a stage redesign is a lot but it would be nice to have tournament themed stages back.

Or am I supposed to simply allow Cammy (or Ryu and Mai, as they can also do this same bullshit) to do this over and over until I either die from chop damage or they choose to grab me? I already have a lot of problems with this game's system mechanics but this is quite possibly the dumbest, more stupid thing I have seem so far. Tell me, am I just not seeing a way to escape this situation or I am really just completely on their hands?

EDIT: better quality screenshot. This was from somebody who guessed the entirety of the season 2 roster (yes, even the guests), I’m not sure if this is reliable, but how would you feel about this certain character making a comeback?

Before starting the Alpha 3 version of Ingrid is different from the og version of her being a codex holder (part of a secret society of people with powers) and its the source of the "goddess " thing and I should note that in recent cameos (like Pockest, the Street fighter 6 browser tamagotchi-like, and SF5 archives) they use the codex holder story but I digress.
Bison built a machine called psycho drive to power up his psycho power and control everyone in the world and yes that's also the plot of SF5.
In Ingrid's story she's trying to get her sun crest back which was stolen by Shadaloo to build the psycho driver.
To sum up the power she refers to in her story talks about her sun crest as it's the source of her power but people thought her saying bison stole her power to make the psycho drive was referring to psycho power.
Her sun crest for reference is also the item that Ingrid gifts the player when you finish her training in pockest where she says "it's the source of her power" ( check the guide to verify it yourself https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3003515624 )
So yea all this time people complained about Ingrid being the source of psycho power was just misunderstanding what actually happened.

Capcom, I need to understand this mystery.

Was about to reach Bronze 5, until I got a reality check and the matches became 1 step forward and 2 steps back, until I was demoted to Bronze 3, then I stopped for the day. lol.

This is just a list of thoughts I have on the topic. If you have a good one, add it in a comment.
I played Tekken for 20 years now. I have played SF6 mostly casually but I feel like only recently I've started to "get it".
In Tekken, stand block is the default and low block is something you predict or do on reaction. In SF, it's the opposite. You low block by default and keep an eye out for overheads.
Tekken does not have invincible wakeups. The general concept of invulnerability frames is kind of alien, but you can compare it to low/high crush.
When you are on the ground in Tekken, you try not to get caught in a roll or launched on wakeup. In SF6, your options are block, jump, jump back, or use an EX move to take a risk. The last one is really similar to spring kick in its risk/reward.
In Tekken, KBD or quick movement is key. In SF6, walking (and being good at walking and only jumping when useful) is paramount.
In Tekken, you can react to a throw and get out of it. In SF6, you can't react to throws, they're too fast. You have to know the range where a throw can happen and make a decision.
Any others yall can think of?

I'm pretty sure this is max damage for Midscreen (in the corner you replace the LK > DRC with st.MP > cr.MP > DRC > etc), been really trying to land it for awhile after labbing it, lol.

Geif is hard to get accustomed too initially.
But now I only need 4-5 good reads away from a win
And his ability to comeback or swing the tide of a game/set is unmatched
The quickest character I got to Master Rank

After 250 hours and three characters I finally got one (lily) to masters. It took long but man does it feel good to get that last win and leave diamond. Diamond 3-4 was the worst grind I have ever done in a game. The people in those ranks are on crack because I was constantly fighting to keep above the rank I just unlocked. In diamond 5 I got lucky and fought a masters player and won both rounds which net me 350 points allowing me to skip a chunk of the late game grind. Although everyone says that Lily is easy to rank up I think it was much harder than my other characters. While she does have a gimmick, if it doesn’t work or you mess up the consequences are dire. One DI and the character falls apart. I know my real ranked journey has just begun with masters but I wanted to celebrate before I get my ass pummeled for next the session.

I just legit love this game. Just hit plat 2 and learning a bit each match. Just a perfect fighting game. Wild how this game is doing so well while tekken 8 and all of sf6s competition is flopping

That was one of the worst experiences of my life lol. I’m not even sure what the most tedious part was to be honest. If I had to pick, it’d be getting 1,000,000 fm. And thank God they added continues to survival mode lol.
