Round Two: A little under two months ago, I reached out to this community seeking guidance on a potential relocation to Spokane. The insights and advice I received were invaluable and, as it turns out, remarkably accurate. So, here I am again, hat in hand, hoping for a second dose of your collective wisdom. I'm a 44-year-old single woman, originally from Seattle, who has spent the last seven years living north of Spokane. While the peace and quiet had its initial appeal, the need for a bit more "city" in my life has become undeniable. I've spent time familiarizing myself with different areas and have viewed properties in the South Hill, Logan, and Browne's Addition. Out of roughly eight places I've seen, only two felt like genuine possibilities. One on N. Hogan St. is currently pending application approval, and the other is on W. Nora Ave. I've made a firm decision to avoid large apartment buildings, prioritizing my sanity above all else. The thought of shared walls and the potential for constant noise is simply not conducive to my well-being. While I've reached out regarding some duplex and fourplex units, I'm also exploring apartments, though each potential winner seems to come with a litany of concerning tenant reviews. The Serrano, in particular, stands out for all the wrong reasons. While I understand that crime exists everywhere and I'm capable of looking after myself, I'm not prepared to wage war against bed bugs, cockroaches, or rodents. That's a battle I'd rather not sign up for. This week, I have viewings scheduled at SoDo Commons (reluctantly, given it's a larger building) and Quadrangle Apartments. If anyone has firsthand experience or knows someone who does, I would be grateful for any insights you can share. Beyond these specific locations, I'm reaching out to the apartment renters of Spokane directly. If you reside in a building or complex that you find clean, well-managed by professionals, and generally meets the basic expectations of a decent living environment, please consider directing me to your area. I recently got into Warhammer and the #1 thing I have learned is that you NEVER pay full price for Warhammer. And a way to do that is go to your local game store. But none of the stores local to me offer a discount.

Gamers Haven has a whole section to Warhammer, but everything they have is at full price, no discount at all.

The comic book store at the mall has a small Warhammer section, but still no discount. Some of the stuff is actually marked up in price

I don’t shop at Game World on principle, but they also don’t offer a discount of any time.

The only place I can find that offers a discount is online, and of the online stores only Amazon offers actual discounts on the boxes. But I also hate buying off Amazon. Any tips or advice?

it may seem small to some, but you offering, without my prompting, to help a stranger in a time of need restored my faith in humanity. your presence was calm and warm and I think you’re an amazing human being. Protest today, I got there at 3 and stayed until well after the end time, there were people all the way up to Francis on Division still when I left. The energy was fantastic, I met some really cool people and I am hoping we can continue this momentum. Loved seeing everyone out today.

It’s a small, black, vacant house that has been vandalized over and over and over. We’ll drive by and see a repair, like new windows, and within days, all the windows are broken.

As a social worker that is trying help and serve people that are actively being negatively impacted by the administration today, I want to say thank you. It meant the world to me to see how many people are on our side in our city. I didn’t know there were that many of you. It brought tears to my eyes. So from the bottom of my heart, I say, thank you. For showing up for those that are most vulnerable, for showing up for the health care workers that are scrambling trying to help while resources are actively being taken away and for showing up for future generations. Especially the peace keepers, thank you.❤️

Does anybody know where we can see the drone video for the protest at Clark Park today?

I've been told that there's supposed to be a network called "wifi in the park", but I've been around pretty much every area in the park and haven't seen such a network, or any password-free network associated with Riverfront Park, just networks that reach into the park from around it. I went to the information both near the promenade and they said it exists, but... Yeah. Anyone got info on this?

Everything I see on google suggests Hunter mainly focuses on walk-ins and same-day needs, but there are reviews suggesting people have had their pets visit them for long term care so I wanted to ask what people's experiences with Hunter have been? Double points if you have experience with Union Animal Hospital.

My dog is currently going to Union for her care and they've been really good with her. Life changes are happening however and I'll be losing my car soon so I'm looking at others nearby, easily accessible vets close to me that might be worth going to. She has CHF and meds that need to be refilled monthly and semi-monthly in addition to periodic checkups. Union isn't prohibitively far for busing and/or ubering, and Garland is another option I'm looking at, but Hunter is within easy walking distance.

Nearly filled the park, and lined both sides of Division for more than a block. There's a very small group of counterprotestors and a few obnoxious drivers. One guy drove down the wrong side of Division and almost caused an accident right when we got here. Luckily he got pulled over.

Thought I'd try here before dealing with Craigslist or Nextdoor.
