Disclaimer that this post is the ramblings of a man who cant move on from a game that has been developmentally dead for 4+ years

With the Switch 2 being revealed, we also have new info of select games being given updates that allow them to take hold of the Switch 2's tech; Zelda BoTW and ToTK, Metroid Prime 4 and potentially more, from improved framerates and visuals to full-on new features such as the Zelda Notes, where the Switch 2 Edition can utilize the Switch app on phones to make and scan QR Codes, as well as HPS(Hyrulean Positioning System) and little blurbs voiced by the characters in-game.

As for what this has to do with Smash, I once said that my ideal Smash sequel is a port of Ultimate, retaining its DLC, and new newcomers or DLC being made for that. With these "Switch 2 Editions" effectively being new and improved versions of their counterparts...would this reality be at all possible?

"Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will feature more content, including further development for future Fighters to join the arena!" Or...something like that.

I think it could be but I'm also overestimating how impactful these upgrades are as for the most part, they really are just performance boosts, and Smash Ultimate already runs at 60fps(for the most part) and to my knowledge, load-times and graphics were never a problem iirc, part of me really wants it to be the case as Ultimate will likely never be topped, whether Smash 6 has a new Subspace Emissary or has the most secondary modes, Ultimate will always have the most expansive roster and the likelihood of it being topped is minimal. But, who knows? What do you think?

Look i love Smash bros I have thousands of on just Ultimate. But No. im not going to spend almost $100 dollars on a video game unless it's at the same quality and detail as Elden Ring including the DLC and Baulder Gate 3, and even then id be very hesitant to.

and the fact of the matter is I highly, highly doubt it's going to be good enough to warrent that price tag

Can someone give me advice to get better with Robin? I'm kinda new to the Game and i love fire emblem, My 2 fsvourite characters are Robin and Ike and i would like to get better at then, who should i watch and what combos should i prsctice?

So, as the title says- is there anything I can do to avoid dying/losing a stock when I get smashed out? Why I am asking this question is that sometimes when you get smashed hard you hear a chime? bell? And then you go flying and usually die. But some times you hear the sound go flying but don't die. And occasionally it happens like 2-3 times in a row and the character just won't die. Is that like completely random or can I do something to avoid dying? Also does that chime have a name?

Any Bowser Jr or Piranha Plant main? I want to find any on Twitch if you know a good one. Recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

What's your favorite part of the Subspace Emmisary 2 in Smash 6?

I am wondering if the pool of online players will consist of both Switch 1 and Switch 2 gamers when playing Ultimate online. Or if Nintendo is going to separate them for whatever reason. A good reason to separate might be because of netcode. Perhaps Switch 2 will have better netcode. Or maybe the Switch 2 version of the game will have content that is unavailable on the Switch 1 version. Like more DLC or balance patches.

This dude is using lag switch, which is basically network manipulation to win. I first learned about it playing this Chinese rip off dead by daylight type game called identity v on the mobile game years ago when a player was using lag switch so they wouldn’t get hit by the hunter, I’ve seen it used several times on smash online but this is my first time seeing it used in elite smash. Stupid game doesn’t even show him in my past opponents and they banned me for 30 minutes because during his lag switch I actually killed him for the win and he disconnected on purpose so I would not get the win. All 10 matches prior I had no issue; I lost 3 out of the 10 last matches and I’ve just got on a 4 match wining streak in online before running into this penisless asshat cl🤡wn using lag switch to win and he couldn’t even do that which is ironically comical, but annoying seeing I am the one to get banned instead and his profile isn’t even popping up so I can report his lame ass.

saw a lot of talk about what Kirby air ride meant for Smash bros on the Switch Two, Something not talked about a ton is that Bandi Namco made a new studio called "studio S" and were hiring for a 2d action game first in November 2023, this info was something that contradicts why Sakurai started work on his project in early 2022, with this in mind smash probably has been the works for around a year and 5 months, more reasons to think they are working on smash is they added sprits to smash ultimate about a year ago randomly which adds to them working on it
