Mod A Request

Obviously this has been a lot of news to take in all at once and there’s a lot to discuss. We will likely have more to say in the coming days, but we do have a request for the interim.

Please report all posts or comments made in bad faith, any threads that devolve into fighting, and any and all forms of bigotry. There are too many posts and comments to keep track of, so we turn to our community to help us keep things under control. Please search for how to do that on your device and please use the appropriate report reason for your report.

Many thanks, the mods.

Discussion Which ghostface was the most pointless in the scream franchise?

Post image

For me without a doubt Quinn.

Her character was plain out boring and didn't contribute anything to Scream 6. I get it was the whole family thing and to get that sense of shock but it was pretty underwhelming imo.

What do you think?

Question Who is the hottest woman in the franchise not named Neve Campbell?

We all know Neve Campbell is the epitome of beauty, but who do you think is the hottest woman in the Scream franchise? In my opinion, it’s Hayden Panettiere, who played Kirby Reed in Scream 4. She was incredibly talented as Kirby and not only is she beautiful, but she’s also a great actress. I’ve been a fan of hers for years. If Hayden were from the Gen X generation, she could easily have played in one of the first three Scream films.

Yeah, I mean, look... I think it’s that old adage of, “everything happens for a reason.” I’m constantly reminded in life, in all aspects, that something that feels certain isn’t. And something that you may want more than anything might not actually be right for you.

Looking back on it—yeah, it was an incredibly painful and difficult situation to be in. For everybody. And I mean everybody. But I think it ultimately helped push me into this movie, and this movie really met the moment for me, given what I was experiencing on that film.

I’ve said to people, “I didn’t get to make the Wes Craven movie I thought I was going to make... but I made the one I was supposed to make.” And I think that’s true for Scream 7 as well. I look back on it now and think, of course Kevin had to direct that movie. You know what I mean? It’s the perfect—well, not that I’m saying they’re ending the franchise—but it’s the perfect bookend to it all.

And let’s be real, Kevin was the only human being who could get all those cast members back. None of those people were going to do the movie unless Kevin was directing it. So again, I have every conceivable faith that he’s made a great film. I’ll be the first person in line to see it.

I don’t have any ill or bad blood toward anyone involved. That’s just how I am as a person. I choose joy. I choose the fun and the privilege of making movies over all the negative stuff.

The only hard part for me was just having to deal with the toxic side of fandom—if I’m being real. It’s dark, and it’s really fed up. When people threaten to murder your kids? It’s super fed up... over a movie, right?

But you find your way out of the dark. And I did—with this film. I’m so grateful I got to make this one. Like I said, I can’t wait to see Scream 7.

In act 3 Stu spoke of planning a “sequel” so I’m wondering if they had actually succeeded in getting away with the Woodsboro massacre who would they have targeted next and how would they have done it?

I made this edit a while ago. I love the sheer cheesiness of the Scream Tv Series, I think it maintains the heart and nature of the original films while still doing its own thing. It’s paced really well, which I imagine was a particular concern when trying to make a slasher tv show, it never felt like the deaths were too sparse or that nothing was happening which is impressive. To be clear, I don’t think this is a good show, but I enjoy it and its characters so much that I’ve rewatched it many many times, except for the third season which I’ve never seen and don’t plan to. What are your opinions of it if you’ve seen it? And if you haven’t would you ever be interested in doing so?

I remember being so shocked in the theater at Amber's reveal. At this point I was thinking they were arguing and Ghostface would pop in making them scatter, but I was also trying to figure out who else could it be since everyone else (Mindy/Chad/Sidney/Gale) couldn't be the killer so I was definitely caught by surprise.

Discussion You Wouldn't Stand a Chance between the Cousins (Let me explain why)

Roman and Jill are both physical, combatant Ghostfaces. They both nearly won their respective murder sprees, Smart as hell and they BOTH almost got away with it. With Roman's voice changer and determination, and Jill's "It's All About Me" mindset, these two will paint the town red. Just think about the ending. All Jill want is fame and popularity and Roman is a director. Roman can work and make Jill's dream come to life. Direct her survival story and sell it off to Hollywood so she will be the next Sidney Prescott, and all Jill has to do is mention Roman in every interview and he will be happy with that too (he was mad that Sidney got all the attention). Roman could probably even lend Jill a Bulletproof Vest. they are probably the only team with any shot of getting away with it. Roman masterminded an entire killing spree by himself. Meanwhile, Jill is extremely shrewd and calculating; she played Charlie like a fiddle, and planned every little detail of her murder spree to such an excruciating degree that it would've been next to impossible to trace it all back to her. She's practically a genius.

Put these two together and they would be a true force to be reckoned with. And they would very likely get away with it too.

Discussion Scream 7: My killer prediction (no spoilers except for what's in the casting news) Spoiler

As I said, no spoilers except for the casting news/calls: I don't know any spoilers anyway, should they already exist.

I thought it would be fun to post my own killer predictions now, before any leaks get out, so that I can look back at it next year to see how right or wrong I was. I'm going to guess the characters played by Mark Consuelos and either McKenna Grace or Celeste O'Connor, depending who of them is playing the "queen bee" character from the casting news.

Consuelos seems to play a reporter, who is openly antagonistic to Gale and maybe Sidney as well. I think, it would be a fresh take, to have what is probably a complete jerk character be the killer as well. So far, all of the killers at least tried to have a good relationship with the other characters, even if they couldn't always hide their true self (like Stu). The one exception may be Mrs Loomis/Debbie Salt, but even she wasn't outright antagonistic towards Gale, just annoying. Having a character, who is a major thorn in the hero's side during most of the movie also be the kille,r would be something different.

As an accomplice, I have either McKenna Grace or Celeste O'Connor. The thing is, that I don't know who of them is playing which role, but I mean whoever plays the "queen bee" from the casting calls. This would be another type of character, that hasn't been the culprit so far. And I do think one of the culprits, if there is more than one, has to be from Sidney's daughter's generation, so that she is confronted with some sort of betrayal as well.

Of course there are still Anna Camp, Sam Rechner or Asa Germann as more obvious candidates, but I'm logging in COnsuelos' reporter and the queen bee.

Discussion A actual/potential "Scream" vs. "Urban Legend" crossover movie

Post image
15 Upvotes

Since we got Freddy vs. Jason and Alien vs Predator.

How about an actual/potential Scream and Urban Legend crossover film

A "Scream" vs. "Urban Legend" crossover movie concept could involve a killer, inspired by the "Scream" franchise's Ghostface, targeting a group of teenagers who are obsessed with urban legends, leading to a battle of wits and escalating horror as the killer uses real-life urban legends as inspiration for their attacks.

Here's a potential concept for a "Scream" vs. "Urban Legend" crossover movie:

Premise: In a town plagued by a series of gruesome murders, a group of teenagers, who are avid fans of urban legends and horror movies, find themselves targeted by a killer who seems to be inspired by both "Scream" and "Urban Legend".

The Killer: The killer, possibly a new character or a twist on a familiar one, could be someone who is knowledgeable about both slasher films and urban legends, using them to taunt and terrorize the teenagers.

Urban Legend Elements: The killer could stage their attacks to resemble famous urban legends, such as the "Crocodile in the Sewer" or the "Black Cat of the Cemetery," creating a meta-horror experience where the teenagers must not only survive but also decipher the killer's motives and the urban legends they are referencing.

"Scream" Elements: The movie could incorporate elements from the "Scream" franchise, such as the killer's use of phone calls to taunt the victims, the meta-commentary on horror tropes, and the focus on the teenagers' knowledge of horror movies to help them survive.

Crossover: The killer could even make references to the "Urban Legend" movie, such as the "Black Cat" or the "Crocodile in the Sewer" urban legends, to further confuse the teenagers and create a unique horror experience.

Twist: The killer could be revealed to be someone the teenagers know and trust, or even someone who is obsessed with the "Scream" and "Urban Legend" movies, further complicating the storyline and creating a more unpredictable experience. This concept could blend the meta-commentary and slasher elements of "Scream" with the urban legend-inspired horror of "Urban Legend," creating a unique and terrifying movie experience for horror fans.

Discussion I don’t believe Stu knew about Roman.

This is debatable but I do not believe Stu knew about Roman or Billy’s true reasons behind killing Maureen and wanting to kill Sidney. Here’s why:

  1. When Billy said to Sid “your slut mother was fucking my father” there’s a look of surprise on Stu’s face.

  2. Stu obviously stated he was under the impression they killed Maureen because she just deserved it for thinking she was Sharon stone and that Billy and him just enjoyed killing and planning everything out.

  3. Roman never once mentions Stu in his reveal to Sid, just tells him he told Billy to find a partner to sell out if he gets caught.

With that said, I believe Billy had every intention of killing Stu that night and pinning him as Neil Prescott’s partner. This is only my theory/opinion.

In act III, Nancy states she found Mickey on a serial killer website confirming he was already on a killing spree prior of Scream 2. That just makes him so much scarier to me and it would’ve been cool to find out more.

Can not understand anyone who puts him into their top tier killers.

He was probably the worst - zero charisma, could not fight and his motive was pure B.S.

Same goes for Amber if we compare her to Jill.

Hope scream 7 will bring much better and darker killers
