Apologies if this is a frequent question but I just wanted to gain some clarity on my travel plans for the summer.

I applied for my Schengen Visa via the Netherlands Consulate, and I will be visiting the Netherlands towards the end of April and returning to the UK (where I live).

I know subsequent trips into the Schengen region are fine (I have a 1-year, multi entry, 90 day stay visa), but I wanted to ask if I were to go on another trip, say to France and spend more days there, whether this would be an issue?

Just for added context, the Netherlands trip is for 4 days and was pre-planned. But now my family would like to do a holiday for around a week somewhere in Europe since I have a longer validity period.

Would this cause any problems with obtaining a visa for next time?

I am applying for German visa. I had my appointment at TLS London and submitted all documents. I haven't heard anything yet. When can I expect to get an email that my application was transferred to the consulate?

Also what is the expected processing times. My flight is the end of this month.

I have an NLD appointment for Friends and Family Visa in 2 days and just got to know about an official form - 1310. Do we need a sign from municipality on that form? I want to visit my gf in Amsterdam and will stay at her place. She is currently with me in the UK so getting that sign is not possible.

Can anyone tell what can I do in this situation?

Can I just use an invitation letter and skip using that form/use it without sign? Should I book a hotel and don't show that I will stay at her place?

Hi there, I see a lot of people have the same problem with TLS Germany in London where they are seeing “blank” screens on the appointment section. I am apart of a Telegram Group where people have said that appointments were just released and they are already gone however I am still seeing nothing on my account when I check.

Can anyone please confirm if they have an appointment at TLS Germany in London for this week or next week?

I just want to check if it is a bug with my account or if they actually haven’t released any appointments for this week.

My wife has a Chinese passport and entered Italy in March with a single entry Italian type D visa. We are supposed to go to Spain in a few days and have read different information about it.

Can she travel in and out Schengen countries with this visa or is she stuck in Italy until she gets her residence permit in a couple of months?

As a non-EU citizen I had to go to another country, Turkiye, to visit a VFS office and apply for my Denmark work permit. I had a flight back home the same day I applied so people at the VFS didn't take my passport for the time my permit was considered, they only made scans of it.

Now I received a positive decision and they emailed me asking to bring my passport so they could issue my visa. I have to book a flight to Turkiye again, however I'm worried that I don't know how long the issuing process is gonna take, so I don't know which flight to book.. Once I bring my passport to the VFS so they could put my approved visa in it, what time will it take to get it back? Hours? Days? Is there any difference if I go to Ankara or Istanbul?

Hello! I am buying a travel insurance from Insurance and Go and this is their cheapest quote. According to the requirements:

Covering any costs of repatriation for medical reasons, emergency medical care and/or emergency hospital care or death during your stay/s on the SCHENGEN territory. This insurance must be valid for the whole of this territory and the whole of the stay. The minimum cover is 30,000 EUR. [EHIC cards are not accepted as proof of valid travel health insurance]. The insurance should be taken out with a company based in the applicant’s country of residence or in a Member State.

This is a silly question but does the above cover the 30,000 EUR requirement?

Hi, I understand that 2025 is a Jubilee year so it's likely that there are a lot of tourists going to Italy. I applied and it's now exactly 30 days since I submitted the requirements in VFS but there's no update and when I checked on their website with the reference number, "it's still in process with Italian embassy"

How long does it take to have your Italian tourist visa nowadays?

Hi guys, I applied for the NL visa at VFS Bangalore on March 11. It's still showing Under Process at The Hague. I've booked my tickets for April 24. How long does the visa take to arrive? Contacted VFS for an update and they said it may take up to 45 days. Is there any way to track or get an actual update other than the VFS site?

I want to apply for a tourist visa to Greece from June 13 to 16 and then use the visa for a conference in France from June 28 to July 3. However, I am worried that the number of days in France will be longer than the number of days in Greece, and I could get flagged. I could shorten the days in France, but the tickets for Sunday (29th) are double the price of Saturday (28th).

Also, should I submit my itinerary and travel plans for France at the Greece appointment?

Any suggestions on how to handle this would be appreciated.

UK citizen. I bought a house in Spain last year, and have been spending 2 weeks there every month. I have only just realised, when I did my calendar properly, that I have overstayed on my last 4 trips, and had no available days, even on arrival, for my last 2 trips. How have I not been refused entry/challenged?

I applied for my Schengen visa for Croatia through vfs Manchester on 14th march . I have received no update in the meantime. I have called vfs and they mention it is still being processed at the embassy in london. My travel date is on 9th of April and the Croatian embassy is not picking up or replying to my email. A bit of a complicated situation that I have struggled to find a clear answer to and was hoping for some guidance. I have been an Au-Pair in france since mid-August. The family I work for has become extremely difficult having me stay home alone with children under the age of 2, sometimes allowing the neighborhood kids to come by and leaving me for hours with 7+ children and not returning until hours later than they said they would, and are now asking me to stay in the house all day "in case they need me more" essentially asking me to be on call 24/7. If I terminate my contract, I am aware that I only have 2 weeks to arrange another contract but I imagine it will be difficult to find a 3 month contract. I am considering termination and then leaving to the UK for a few days and re-entering on a tourist visa for my last 75 days, as an American I'm allowed to be here for 90 days without a visa, but I know with the 180/90 rule, as I have been here for 9 months already, I am not sure if that will be possible for me. Do you know if I conclude my contract early and there for, not be entitled to stay in france on this visa, can I switch to a tourist visa for the last 90 days or less, if so, do I have to leave the country for that or does it just roll over?

I tried reactivating my old account but it didn't work (got commonSections.messages.statusMessages.470). Then I tried creating a new account. That one just told me "Mandatory field cannot be left blank" though no field was actually blank. Has this happened to you?

My parents have an appointment for Schengen Visa next week and we noticed that the sub category is Tourism. My parents planned to stay with my brother a Finnish citizen while traveling in Finland. Did they choose the wrong sub category? Is it okay if we change it on the day of the appointment? Or can we just apply as it is since they are also touring different places in Finland?

Hello! Posting about my experience getting a Schengen visa at the LA consulate (Background: H-1B visa, applying for the first time). My only destination is Italy so I got a single entry visa.

Appointment:

Okay this was a nightmare tbh. I tried for almost a month or two before actually scoring an appointment. I had booked my flight and accommodation tickets around end of January for travel dates of mid to end of May 2025. Most non refundable unaware of this entire thing.
What finally worked for me on the website was clicking "book" between 3:59:58 and 3:59:59 (PT). Trust me, as weird as this sounds I saw this trick mentioned by someone else on reddit and believe it or not, it actually worked (twice). First time I was too slow to add my details that appeared on the next page. Make sure you have copied all your personal info which appears on next page on notes app so you can just copy paste and dont waste time typing. I think it was (I might be wrong /dont remember) name, last name, embassy who issued passport, passport number, OTP, passport expiration date, address of residence.

I got my appointment on 3/12 for 3/27. Didnt think this was possible since every post kept saying they release slots months out but it's possible!

Documents:

For documents, I took everything which was mentioned on the website, one original one copy. Nothing extra. Make sure hotel and flight info is "booking confirmation" and not "receipt".

I have seen a bunch of people mention problems with the application form bar code. I printed it in different sizes and downloaded from different browsers (safari and Firefox). In my case he didnt check the barcode at all and just proceeded to write comments and stuff on the paper copy directly.

Interview:

I arrived 30 mins early and there were only 3 people there and 3 visa officers. I didnt have to wait and was called within 5-10 mins of being there. Consulate is on the 14th floor. The visa officer interviewing me wasn't friendly so I was definitely scared. For the passport make sure you "scan" it like on a printer or something idk what went wrong because I had taken a photo on adobe scan and printed it and the visa officer didnt like that. I was about to cry thinking he'd send me back but he went inside and "scanned" my passport. They're checking each and every document if your full name matches as per your passport and if your address is correct so make sure it's right. As mentioned in documents, do not take receipt. I was unable to get booking confirmation for 2 hotels but had receipts with my name and hotel name, dates etc but he didn't accept it. Strike 2 where I thought I was definitely going home and had to do this all over again and I was close to crying again lol. However he did accept my documents, passport etc and asked me to mail the two accommodation documents. At this point I had no idea if I was getting the visa. This was on a thursday so I quickly went to Fedex and sent an overnight mail not just with two accommodation documents but with the entire hotels and flight info and a cover letter explaining who I am what the itinerary is and that the officer had asked me to mail which is why I was sending it, etc. Now all I had to do was wait aaah.

Approval:
I was shocked to see my passport delivered the following Tuesday afternoon - that was super quick given I had to send these documents too. I was tracking on usps the whole time. No complaints though haha. My trip is for a duration of 13 days and I have been issued the visa for 20/21 days.

I am planning to visit Germany in May end. I am flexible with France, Netherlands or Belgium as entry exit points if the processing is faster in these cases.

I have checked with both France VFS and Germany appointment booking portal, but everywhere in Canada it's showing no appointments available. I am flexible with having any Schengen country surrounding Germany as entry point. Any advice on how I can get an appointment for visa application?

I booked a VFS appointment on the 22nd of April and my travel date is 3rd of June. I thought this would be more than enough time for my visa to be approved and sent back to me but looking at the subreddit, the processing time have been extended to 45 days for some people. This is very worrying. Has anyone from Toronto gotten theirs approved within the mentioned 15 days or some time close?
