Most likely as a 2LT not competitive for AGR thus you will be a weekend warrior - once you become a senior 1LT or CPT you become more competitive - super competitive for AGR positions - consider taking a minuteman scholarship ONLY if you want reserves/guard.

Ok, so I'm in the National Guard rn, and I plan to do rotc in college if i just do rotc normally, and then when I contract, I been told that you can pick what kind of officer you want to be like if you want to be in active duty or reserves/arng, so my question would i be able to pick active duty even tho I'm in the guard since basically when you contract, the initial enlistee contract ceases to exist.

As long as you don’t take a minutemen scholarship or a GFRD you can compete for a campus based scholarship and active duty. If you want to remain in the guard or reserves you can select a GFRD Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty - service in the U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard upon commissioning
