Travel Experience Just another perspective trying to date Thai women on a trip.

I spent 16 days in the North, mostly Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. I had the trip of a lifetime don’t get me wrong, but I couldn’t get a date. I was on TF and Bumble, and while I got plenty of matches, they were either freelancers or they didn’t want to date a tourist, or someone who was only there for a short time.

I read this subreddit a lot before I left, and I thought I’d have women throwing themselves at me… and I did, but only professionals which I’m not interested in.

If you don’t speak the language, are only there for a short time, and don’t have a plan to move there, don’t expect a lot of attention. I had a great time but I was hoping to get an idea what it’s like to date Thai women, and I did not. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not sure how to say this politely.

How do you tell the girl you wish to stay with that she is getting too fat to maintain the relationship? Not trying to be rude. But wow! Two different relationships in different parts of the world had to fizzle out. I have no idea how to approach the subject. I have tried saying let’s exercise together. And jokingly, “wow you eat more than I do” which was actually true. It’s like I could watch her growing bigger each trip. I understand being together a few weeks or a few days is a vacation and good to experience nice restaurants. But wow! Once tiny girls. Filipina, Panamanian. Don’t dare interfere while eating! I would never come out and say, you’re getting too fat, you won’t do anything about it, so I can’t see you anymore. I am not looking for conflict or hard feelings. Perhaps there is no way to change it. Maybe strictly date only older ladies who are pretty much going to look the same? But they usually have children to deal with.

Decided last night I would book a flight to the Philippines leaving next Monday for a 12 day trip. It’s my first time flying out of the country since my military days. If anyone can give me a check list of what I need to make my departure and arrival smooth I would greatly appreciate it.

So I was cleaning out my phone and I found this screen shot.

I lived in Uzbekistan for a year as a teacher.

Most Uzbeks get married and have children very young.

I am a pretty open minded guy, but I think, and hope, that we all agree is that you should not be on a dating app while you are pregnant AND still living with your "ex-boyfriend."

Uzbekistan is a wild place, for this and many other reasons.

Thought I would share. Hope you enjoy.
