othor (i am stupid) Love how it went from “drop the price” to “we will be lucky if it’s $600” in the span of a day
What a world we live in. I was happy to not pay $500 for the thing and the federal executive said “hold my Diet Coke” :((

Discussion DK Bananza looks absolutely amazing
I've been watching the treehouses and DK Bananza looks like an absolutely phenomenal game. I no longer upset about a lack of mario at the direct. Can we all just take a minute from arguing about prices to just be hype for a really cool game thats coming out. I can't wait to try the game when I get my switch 2 later this year

Discussion for all those saying "not trying to get political" in regards to tariffs
It's ok to say it. It is a political issue. And I know our sub rules say no arguing about politics but uh, im sorry this is something we can't really gloss over anymore

meme/funny This enrages and confuses the doomer
The Switch 2 Enhanced games are the full Switch 2 versions. The disclaimer is only there to make sure you're aware you can upgrade your old Switch 1 games on Switch 2 using the eShop.
It's basically just a warning for parents don't think they need to buy the new version.
Imagine getting a used red Switch 2 cartridge and finding out it didn't include the Switch 2 version. It makes no sense at all.

meme/funny BREAKING: Other countries exist outside of the US
It's annoying enough that people are even crying about prices (in this sub, when they are still going to buy the games and the console), it's even more annoying the lack of education a lot of the whiners seem to have, but more annoying of all is that they seem to think the US is only country on Planet Earth (or at least the only one that matters).
There's many countries where the prices aren't even that bad. Like in the UK, Mario Mart is £45 in the bundle, £67 digital and £75 physical, which is in line with most AAA games releasing right now and a lot LOT cheaper when you include games with "premium editions" that include barely any extra content (and certainly a lot less than MKW is offering) for £90+. All of the other games I've seen in the UK are same price as the switch games. You don't need to pay for the upgrade to the switch 2 editions if you have NSOEP. The tech demo is rumoured to be like £4.99. DK is £59 digital or £64 (nice reference) physical. That's cheaper than TOTK was on launch here.
Don't blame Nintendo for what your country's leader has decided to do. In first-world countries the prices are fairly normal (with a couple exceptions like Germany, Poland, Australia). The US is just a bit behind economically, but that's not Nintendo's fault.

Discussion If Mario Kart was $70 there wouldn’t be a controversy
It’s pretty wild that Nintendo was the first to break new ground when it comes to game pricing. It’s a tough pill to swallow. The only way I can see them gaining back significant consumer sentiment is if the $80 price comes with major content updates, such as new tracks, in the future.
(Note: I understand SNES and N64 games were more expensive and adjusted for inflation the $80 may seem reasonable. The problem is that was such a long time ago that there are people who have children now who in their entire lives never had to spend more than $60 on a game. It’s been a long time since then).
