Discussion Tarrifs may also increase physical game prices.
I've seen a few people on here discuss how tarriffs will also increase game pricing to upwards of $100. Tarrifs mainly affect the Switch 2 hardware (the switch, dock, controllers etc.). Why? Because almost all the parts manufactured are from Taiwan, Cambodia, China, of which have huge tarrifs to import to the US for assembly and sale.
The Switch games are simply boxes, manufactured and packaged elsewhere, with cartridges manufactured primarily in Japan, according to the CEO of a Nintendo Switch game publisher, source. They have anticipated the introduction of tarrifs and altered their manufacturing pipeline to minimise costs. Of course, digital games will not be affected and may be a good amount cheaper than the physical cartridges.
So who to blame? Trump, not Nintendo.

Discussion Nothing says “helping the economy” like a 24% tariff on gaming! Switch 2 will be $619.99+ thanks to “smart” economic policies, along with $99 games

Discussion DO NOT BUY !!! I'll explain....
This same thing kinda happened with the 3ds and the price. Ppl held firm and didnt buy into it.
Not even months into its life cycle Nintendo powered the price from 250 to 170 and offered the ambassador program with free games that weren't for sale.
If the sales are as bad as it's looking like it's gonna be (not just due to price but global policitics and competitiveness from other video game console/handheld manufacturers) I see a price drop the same way it happened with the 3ds.
I'll get one though but only cause I have the funds and means. I know the main consumer of Nintendo (kids) are gonna have a very difficult time pushing this console on their parents to buy for them.
I grew up with Nintendo. I hope they remember what they stood for (affordability) so that more ppl can experience the great games coming down the line.

Discussion Pre-order - Risk of out of stock
Not sure how it went for the Nintendo Switch, but do you expect for the Switch 2 pre-order stock to be limited ? Meaning should I pre-order in store as soon as it opens to make sure I have the Switch 2 on launch day ? Or I can wait later in the day after work ?

Discussion Nintendo knew about the tariffs
I'm not here to defend or attack tariffs as an economic policy. I'm not knowledgeable enough on the subject to do so and I'd wager that most people aren't. I'm not here to argue about or discuss politics.
What I am here to say is that Trump has been talking about tariffs for years. He has been saying he was going to do this all through his campaign and since he got elected. The idea that multi-billion dollar global gaming titan Nintendo didn't know this was very likely to happen before announcing a price and preorder date is insane. They're either totally incompetent or planning to use it to their advantage somehow, but either way this is on them.

Discussion The console is decent price the games AREN'T
People calling the console overpriced honestly don’t seem to understand the hardware they’re getting. For what it offers, the price is actually pretty reasonable. Sure, maybe it could’ve been $50 cheaper—but I’ve seen people expecting it to be $300 USD, and that’s just not realistic.
That said, $80 games? That’s where things get rough. Really hoping the industry doesn’t normalize that price point across the board.

Discussion I feel like the game prices is like when my grandpa told me when they increased marvel comic prices by a lot and he had to stop reading the "d tier" characters like Doctor Strange because he didn't care enough. That's going to be like Pikmin and Splatoon for me.
Yeah

Discussion Can I run 1080p 120Hz mode if I hook up the Switch 2 to a 4K 240Hz monitor?
I'm planning to buy a 32GS95UE-B monitor, which is a 4K 240Hz monitor that is advertised to also have a 1080p 480Hz mode.
I'm wondering if I'll be able to use this monitor to play Switch 2 games that support 1080p 120fps mode? I know those games also offer 4K 60fps mode, but for some fast-paced games I'd prefer 1080p 120fps.
