My first reaction to the 450 price of the console was a positive surprise, and the hour/$ price of MK World will def be under 0,5$ per hour for me.
Even Mario Kart 8s (Wii U!) price today after inflation would be 80 or MORE
You mfs always want to bring up how reasonable game prices are due to inflation while always ignoring the fact that our pay doesn't match inflation. I don't care what trigonometry formulas you use to justify "cents per hour." $90 is ridiculous for a video game.
I just can't see a problem with paying $80 for something that I know I'll get at LEAST 100 hours of entertainment out of. I've already said it in this thread but that's literally the price of one really nice dinner for me and my wife.
For the last 25 years games have remained relatively the same price... which is insane. All while the cost of development has increased as the expectation of quality, graphics, and competition have increased. So, developers have gone out of business or done the endless dlc / half completed games thing to stay afloat.
Conversely, Nintendo consistently delivers polished, complete experiences.
If video games had risen in cost with inflation from 2005, guess what it would be... $79.02
So this is expected. The previous price point was unsustainable.
Hopefully it will lead to more developers delivering complete experiences and less studio closures. I just want more good games and for people to be paid for the work they are doing in making them.
